Pretty challenging! A great leg work out as it gets decently steep but steady. Great view of the river.

Very lovely! Great view of the river and some cool boulders to explore if you like that sort of thing.

very pretty. a part of it had lots of small rocks so you had to be careful not to roll your ankle. also the trail crosses over some roads and parking lots which at times made me nervous about being off course. there's a swing over looking the lake. I would've loved to sit there a while had I not been trying to beat the clock back by 5 when they start towing cars

Beautiful trail, enjoyed the first half from Lower Overlook Park, the Dam, etc. The second half was VERY poorly marked, so much so that my friend, 4 year old son & I ended up walking on a busy 2 lane road with no sidewalk to get back to my car. Annoying!

Nice easy hike, pretty waterfalls, a bit crowded on a nice October day and hard to pass at points.

I appreciate the abundance of signs mapping the trail, but blazes would've been a lot nicer/easier than having to stop and check which one of the paths you want to go down. Also, some kind of marker for where waterfall overlooks are would be appreciated instead of just following the sound down different trails.

I'll be honest, part of me writing this review is because it was sitting at 666 reviews :p

Great trail! So many options for walking, jogging, biking. Kid friendly & pet friendly!

Easy for family hikes

Awesome setting for a short trail but extremely packed. Recommend finding some of the side trails tucked off on the sides to venture back down the mountain.

We pretended we were in a jurassic wonderland during the last few half-miles of this trail. Downed trees and big leaves made this a harrowingly beautiful experience. The river was filled to the brim and flowed as a river should. Exactly as nature intended.

I did 2 miles along the river with a small loop at the end.

I did a slightly different loop, so it was 4 miles with the same path in and out along the river. Nice hike. No bamboo.

Enjoyable hike. Gorgeous lake views. Make certain to take the short out-and-back detour off the west side of the loop to view the dam and the goats that graze to keep the surrounding grasses short. We felt the trail was well marked. Very nice canopied trail.

Low traffic trail with nice shade that goes along the river.

Love it! True trail running. Roots and rocks and steep places and flat places. Sunday morning run and really not a ton of people. Highly recommend it and can’t understand why anyone would give it 3 or 4 stars. This is a great place in an urban Atlanta area. Don’t kid yourself this is not suburbia. To have this big of a place to get 8 miles like this is unheard of.

Great loop around Stone Mountain. Not too heavily traveled on a Saturday morning. Last 3/4 mile is fairly steep and difficult.

Nice hike, hard trail, good exercise, beautiful view to the lake

Bit crowded but it’s a good trail. We stared off from riverside st parking lot to achieve 3.8 miles trail. During returning we adapted a closed trail which we were not aware of and that trail was dam creepy but had fun and we were able to catch up the active trail. Plan to take extra pair of clothes if you want to get into the waterfall. Overall it’s a awesome trail.

Good hike. Had maybe 3 hills that were difficult. Few paths that looked well traveled but led no where.

The longest trail is 5miles. Liked it.

Went today with my friends, nice day to hike and good trial.

Seen a couple of instances of folks not having their dogs leashed.

Very nice trail. Went with 9 year old son and it was not problem but he was tired at the end of it. Nice along the Chattahoochee and along the lake. Good shade inland. Trails are easy to spot as long as you look for the white trail blaze markings on the trees.

Once you figure out the trail , it’s easy to follow.

I felt it quite easy and no elevation at all. For warming up and running into woods, I recommend this trail
