Today we did the Canyon Loop. It had quite a bit of snow but it was well packed so no need for snowshoes. There were some muddy spots. This was an easier hike.

Very enjoyable! Plenty of trails to pick from. There’s about a foot of snow right off the trail but much more if you go too far off. You see elk and wildlife here and there. Woods but if you go to perimeter trails then you see meadows. I used my basic spikes (smaller less heavy duty) over my hiking boots and it was a great hike!

beautiful hike! lots of snow overnight, some spots near the top had almost a foot. we hiked with just our boots but snowshoes for some of the less trafficked trails would probably be better. so much fun :)

Love this trail. Great length and amazing views. Fenced dog park perfect for wearing out your pup at the end of the trail. Typically do this trail/visit the dog park 1-2 a week.

Great variety of terrains.

trail in great shape for this time of year, no ice!

Hiked Apex trail to Enchanted Forest today. 10000% recommend! There was a few icy spots but nothing too bad. I just used hiking boots. Some spots are covered in snow (packed down on the trail) and other spots were just muddy. Depends on where the shade vs sun was. Highly recommend, Great hike near Denver. Cant wait to come back in the summer and see the creek.

Did trail on 1/3/19 after the snow storm on 12/31. It was quite a long walk from the parking lot to really get into canyon. The trail is a road that follows the creek. There is a lot of bikers and runners since it is flat and wide. Looks like you can drive but all park and water trucks driving through. We did see big horn sheep and deer. Not challenging trail for waking.

Good hiking trail. Beautiful view of Mt Evans from the Brothers Outlook. Trail had some snow pack on it but didn’t need micro-spikes to hike it today.

A little icy and snowy in some areas, but plenty of parking and a beautiful hike.

For a city-style hike it was good exercise but nothing especially interesting.

Fun "wander around" trails. Worth the trip.

completed this trail in September 2018 as a bike ride. Trail is easy to ride, a little more difficult towards the end, but overall, not a bad ride. We saw 3 big horn sheep. Pretty open trail, not a lot of tree coverage, and there are some places you can access the river for water.

There is a pit toilet at the parking lot at the trail head which was clean.

A bunch of Powdery snow fell the night before so it was a A wonderful trail for a snow hike. Early morning hike. The temp was -1 so we bundled up a bit more than normal. We loved the quiet serenity and the elevation gain/drops were easy. Lots of animal tracks and some deer spottings. We wore crampons to navigate the snow but no ice.

trails dust covered with snow, but no ice. nice hike very few people on trail. eager to try other trails in the area. was cold started flurrying at the end. dress in layers

Pretty little dusting of snow on the trail today. Option to mix and match with all of the other intersecting trails along the way. As long or as short as you like.

Easy afternoon Jaunt with some pretty amazing views of the flatirons.

(12/9) Pretty easy hike, my guy is not much into hiking or great shape but was able to do this pretty easily. Not much snow on the trail, only in shaded spots. Still a good hike and nice views

this hike was great but VERY icy. highly recommend hiking poles and/or micro spikes or doing it in the summer!

the views are beautiful, and besides the clear ice it's a very pleasant hike.

The bike ride was awesome!!! The Long Horn Sheep were out and about! Spectacular! Wear gloves if biking! Go between 11am-2pm - Get as much sun as you can!

Free climbing on this hike (top of Sisters trail) was killer! Loved the view.

Nice hike on a clear day. Not too many people.

Great hike, definitely didnt feel like a 6 miler. Easy and fun, plus we saw birds and deer and climbed on the rocks for a while.

The trail was great yesterday! Partly snow covered but not difficult to manage at all. Views are killer. Wasn’t too busy either.

Today the view was spectacular. The trail to the summit was 1/2 dry and 1/2 covered with a light dusting of dry snow that was crunchy but not sloppy or icy at all. The snow was less than 1/2” deep.

Perfect easy trail for a long walk in the woods, or a nice run. We found it to be absolutely enchanting. There were some patches of ice, but not enough to require spikes or boots.

Ran this trail yesterday. The parking lot only had one car in it when I arrived at noon and about five when I finished 1hr27min later. Saw a few couples hiking and one MTB. This was a fun trail - not too difficult. I tend to go counter-clockwise. So, if you’re going counter-clockwise then you’ll start going downhill all the way through the back side of Jefferson Loop. It isn’t until you get back on Canyon Loop where you start to climb back up. I didn’t do the 1/4 mile detour to the road as shown on the map. So, 7.1mile with 672 feet of climb.

Lots of ice on Apex and Enchanted Forest Trail, so take your spikes!!!

Took the the mutt for a relatively quick hike near home (Boulder). Definitely a nice way to spend a sunny November afternoon. My dog's kind of lazy so it was just enough to tire her out. The views of the front range from the top are pretty cool. It's a steep ascent for the first twenty minutes or so but after that it levels out and you're essentially hiking on the top of the mesa.We didn't do the whole loop so it may vary more further up the trail. A good spot if you're looking for something close to home.Lots of bikes.
