Trail is becoming overgrown by tall grass. It’s also very difficult to follow as there are not cross country ski trails & mountain biking trails that cross over it in several places. Epilepsy who previously commented about seeing bikers were likely on the amity west trail instead.

Truly beautiful hiking area. There are some areas that are busy with people and some that are more quiet. Be a responsible pet parent and only bring your dog if they are good around lots people and other dogs. Bring your own water, no fountains.

Great hike. you can go for a long hike. more bikers than hikers.

This is my favorite trail in the MSP metro the 19 miles of this trail are beautiful.

fairly easy loop trail. Many intertwined mountain bike and ski trails so know which one you are on.

Great trail from Cannon Falls to Red Wing! Many spots on the trail you can see the river and the surrounding bluffs. Had some open areas with lots of wild flowers to enjoy also. We even had a deer cross the trail right in front of us!! And there were many other birds and wildlife that was present too

This trail is nice and smooth. If you want some fun mountain biking, get off the paved path and cycle it out to the overlook on Upper Triangle! Fun trail and great view.

just repaved and extremely pretty.

Very well maintained and very popular. There’s steady traffic on the weekends, but be sure to bring bug spray lots and lots of bug spray. There’s stagnant water through the valley.

A good waterfall to hike for (High Falls) that isn’t as crowded as Gooseberry. If you’re going to hit the other waterfalls, see them on the way - none are as impressive as High Falls. Also, a cool suspension bridge is just above the falls. P.S. Watch out for big scary black beetles flying around this time of year!

Nice easy hike. Our small dog made the whole trip from the campground up to the 5th falls with no problem. Some steep spots that were muddy and slick. The trail by the upper falls gets very close to the edge in some areas, so it can get a little scary if you're not into heights. Definitely watch your kids if you go to the upper falls! Overall a great hike!

Great time but could have the trails marked better so you didn’t have to keep asking people where to go.

Great easy hike with multiple water falls, swimming holes, and paths through the woods.

Nice hike today we had a blast

Great Hike! Took about 2 hours with two adults, two kids (10 & 8) and a dog. This trail goes down to both Two Step Falls and the High Falls. It also continues to the High Falls observation bridge. It does not go to Cascade Falls. If you plan on going down to see both falls plan on about 500 steps.

Trail in good shape! River down so can soak feet. Few bugs.

A converted rail-trail that is about as nice of a bike trail as I’ve ever seen. The trestle crossings are especially neat. Trail conditions and updates can be found on the State of Minnesota DNR page.

great challenging trail. good climb

This is the hike to the High Falls from the Visitor Center. It also includes Cascade Falls. The shorter hike to High Falls does not go by Cascade Falls.

Easy trail for the family. My 3 year old ended up on my shoulders for half the trip but my 5 yr old had no problem. Lots of good little stopping points.

Great for a family adventure, and perfect for a chance to leave the city behind for a couple hours. The falls we’re fantastic to see, and you can always follow the trails down to Lake Superior for more great views!!

Nice easy hike up to a beautiful waterfall. A little crowded with people in some spots.

This is listed as moderate in the gooseberry Falls brochure. I’d call it close to moderate on the easy scale because there are a few steep spots and you can take dozens of side trails that involve some moderate climbing down or up rocks. We only ran into a few people up near the fourth and fifth falls and it connects right to the SHT so if you wanted to extend it you could. Beautiful views of the falls (that would be 200% more beautiful without the noise of the road and shrieking children)

Great and scenic route! We saw deer, eagles, beavers, and turtles!

There are some good inclined that are tiring so but well worth it!

Really nice spot to stop and see. The wife and I got lucky and beat a large crowd that showed up so it was even better lol.
