I love this trail. You depend a lot on the weather though. The scenery is beautiful and the trails are in very good shape.

Great trail, easy enough for a beginner. But as other reviewers said, it’s longer than 6.7 miles. I logged 8 miles.

Nice trail to walk-jog / went on prob the perfect time. 60 degrees and cooler in the trails / took my 8 yo and unplugged for about an hour

Hiked 10/28. It’s pretty snowy already but we managed without yaktraks. Beautiful hike for the short distance. Highly recommended esp, with dogs!

Hiked yesterday 10/28, weather was great. Above 10,000ft, the trail is about 90% covered in snow, which is compacted so I would recommend micro spikes. I put mine on about half a mile from the lake and used them on the way back out for about a mile also. The lake is almost frozen over, some open water still visible.

4.5 hours to complete with my girlfriend and dumb yellow. Its a steady uphill walk from the intersection with Rogers Pass trail. But beautiful weather and cold water to play in (if you want). Always great views in this area if you like alpine lakes and high altitude excursions.

Beautiful! Crowd thins significantly as you start up the switchback and the lake at the end is worth it. The train tunnel can be heard clearly for the first half of the hike but it’s peaceful at the lake and what you do hear is more like white noise. The leaves were at varying degrees of color but the drive out to the trail itself is breathtaking. There’s tons of parking and when I got to the lake at 2 on a Sunday, I had the lake almost entirely to myself. There’s also some great dispersed camping as you approach the lake!

Beautiful fall hike . Fairly peaceful . Easy to follow trail. Second lake made a great spot for our hammocks . Didn’t see any wildlife though

One of my favorite hikes for sure! Less crowded than Crater Lakes and so beautiful! Only saw a couple people on the trail and a few campers set up around the first lake. Make sure you hike up to the second lake and go off the trail slightly to find the third mini lake. I was jealous of the campers set up around the lake and wish I had packed my tent and stove to stay the night.

I went out late and spent the last hour trekking in the dark....has lights and plenty of cell phone power. Great trail, challenging for me. Beautiful hardwoods and pine Forrest. Look like they expanding Bike trails.

Could spend two days here.

Awesome 11mile Long Run on this trail, felt great.

I took two of my dogs with me. The trail is very well maintained. The signs navigating you through the woods were clearly marked. The trail shows it is 6.7 miles, my Garmin showed 6.9. It was a great 3 hour get away.

Beautiful hike! The first mile, before you hit the junction for Forest Lakes and Crater Lakes, is easy. Once you hit the junction, it's a pretty steady incline all the way up. Great hike for dogs since there is a fair amount of creeks throughout the trail, and the trail is basically in the woods the entire time. The views from the first and second lakes are wonderful!

Amazing hike! Such a beautiful trail with lots of water crossings, beautiful views and 2 lakes. The first lake is pretty, however, the second hike is worth the extra 3/4 of a mile up. Amazing peak views from the top lake and the water is a beautiful clear green. The hike is great for dogs, however, be aware as moose live in the area. We say a mama and baby a mile into the hike and a large bull moose on our hike down. It took us 5 hours round trip to the second lake and back to the car with about an hour of stopping at the top lake and for watching moose.

Neat park and trails. A lot of old growth cottonwood. Be sure and visit the historic site near by!

I am giving just one star because the park was closed and I couldn't get in due some construction on site (for the better, I am sure). I will try it agan, that is for sure!

Did this hike on a Sunday morning and it was great! Steady climb but not bad and well worth the lake views. Some decent wildflowers around the lakes... would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful forest trail with lots of creek intersections. It is pretty steady uphill after the first mile and a half or so. Good workout! When you reach the first lake, you can continue on to the second lake by following the trail up for an extra 3/4 of a mile. Definitely worth it! The upper lake has a beautiful blue/green hue and is crystal clear. On a Saturday at 11:30, us and another couple were the only people up there. There’s plenty of parking in the lot but we didn’t pass many people on the trail at all. With the extra haul to the upper lake, this ran closer to 9ish miles for us.

Great trail, clear of sticks and leaves. Easy to navigate. Some construction on the end of the loop, a little noisy but not a huge deal breaker. Would definitely do again.

Very nice trail, did end up getting lost a bit, and also ended up being closer to 10 miles when all was said and done. Nice trail did see a coral snake on the trail though so do be careful.

Pretty moderate hike, low traffic despite how the parking lot looks and great for dogs! Make sure you head up to the 2nd lake, as the trail map on here ends at the first one and that's where the real views are!

Beautiful bridges and lovely nature ! Trail is well paved too

Mandy, I too logged almost 10 miles on this trail, even though in several different sites it's listed as 6.1-6.8. it is a lovely trail but be prepared for the distance. also wear big spray..I spoke to the ranger at the gate and asked him about the distance, he said no, the trail is not 6ish miles. but I love hiking in this park. Trails are well maintained, and, as a solo female hiker, I've always felt safe.

I think this is my favorite hike of the summer. Stunning upper lake, it was empty when we were there on a Thursday afternoon. Lots of wildlife, and great weather.

Love this trail!

Great trail!

Great trail, way , way to many mosquitos!

Very peaceful walk. You can almost forget that you are in a suburban area. On today’s walk, I spotted a large red headed woodpecker, an armadillo, that completely ignored me as he dug around for his breakfast, a garter snake, and swallowtail butterfly that danced around me for almost two minutes. And I heard a Mockingbird somewhere in the wood trying to trick me.... lovely visit to the wood.
