Stunning formation. Unique, must do hike.

Great, quick hike! Not as long as noted on the app. Some challenging spots, but otherwise pretty easy. Beware for the people doing dangerous yoga poses on the bridge...risking life’s for the gram.

Majestic views!!! It really delivers.

Scariest hike ever. I'm talking about the cable portion, it is steep as hell and even steeper than photos when you see it in person. But it is do-able you just have to focus on moving to the next wooden board. The wooden boards I believe are spaced out 10 feet from each other from the bottom of the dome to the top. It took us about an hour just to get to the top because there was traffic lots of people going up and down simultaneously. We had to take turns for those coming down and those going up. To get to the top without traffic should only take maybe 10-15 mins to give perspective on what traffic does. Also the traffic IMO makes it more scary because you have to hold onto the cables even longer.

I'd recommend using gloves with a latex coating to help with the cables as it gives your hands much more grip and you'll avoid blistering your hands like many other people.

I'd recommend doing it if you want to face your fears. Just take it one wooden board at a time until you reach the top and you'll be fine. Lots of people did it and have done it.

Would I do it again? Probably not lol just because it was scary as shit. BUT DO IT ONCE AT LEAST :D

We loved this hike! For all those that commented the road to the trail was boring ... why didn’t you take the chuck wagon trail option! It added some distance but was beautiful and scenic way to get to the devils bridge trail. Easy moderate addition. The trail to the bridge was perfectly challenging with some steep boldered spots. I am afraid of heights but I eventually ventured out onto the bridge itself. What a spectacular spot!

Hiked this trail with my grandson. The views are beyond spectacular

I would rate this between 3 & 4 stars. The setting is amazing, and the arch is very cool... but the popularity of this hike, and obnoxious selfie hogs on the arch really make it a lot less enjoyable. Oh yeah, and the toilet paper and human poop at the trailhead. LEAVE NO TRACE, PEOPLE. Dig a hole (with a rock or stick) if you need to take a dump when you’re outdoors!!!!!! And if you pee, just take your toilet paper with you, it’s not that complicated! This trail would be 5 stars if it weren’t for the people that visit it.

The best part of this hike was driving our friends 4x4 van to the actual trailhead!!! So much fun driving on the rough road, and getting to the good part of the hike in style!

I thought going on a Monday would have us skip the crowds, but this trail was still SUPER busy. We much preferred our time on lesser known trails in Sedona.

Had a blast, but saw two young ladies who drove their rental crossover into a ditch, they were still there on my way back out, waiting on a wrecker. So if you don’t have experience driving off-road please just hike to the trailhead

Great trail and views! This trail is exactly what hiking is about. This is a must if you visit Sedona. The Bridge is much smaller when you are standing on top of it. Take plenty of water but there are numerous spots for rest and shade. Free to park, if you find a spot. I will hike this trail again.

A nice hike to wrap up November. If you don’t have a vehicle with high ground clearance, you’ll have to walk an extra mile or so each way down a road, which proved to be pretty soupy on the rainy day we chose to hike it. Aside from that it’s a fairly short hike with the majority of the elevation gain being in the last few hundred yards. Beautiful view from the bridge and it is much wider than it looks before you step out onto it. Your mom might be a bit hesitant to brave the bridge but just tell her to “do it for the ‘gram,” as my wife always says. She’ll be glad she did.

Nice view good trail

Go early. Like the minute the sun rises and you won’t have an issue parking or with crowds. Definitely worth it.

Park at mescal trailhead vs dry creek vista for a beautiful ~1 mi walk through well marked desert trail before getting to to devils bridge trailhead. You will avoid walking on dirt road to get there and be rewarded with great views!

The views are to die for...

You do have to walk/hike on a 4x4 road for a while, but the end of the hike is pretty neat and relatively flat. There are a few steep spots near the end that were steep, but nothing too hard.
If you want to beat the crowd, you need to get there before 9am. Mid day this is more of a tourist hike.

Fantastic hike, moderately easy. Views are beautiful, will definitely hike again. Perfect for a 65 degree day!

I wish we would have skipped this long mostly boring hike. You are hiking on a road and you are sharing the road if you want to call it a road with many off-road vehicles 4 wheel drives. It was too crowded at the top to be able to enjoy the view of the arch. People should better respect everyone's time when taking pictures out on the arch.

Amazing hike did this back in September and forgot to put a review, but this hike is beautiful! We left early in the morning at 2am and it was perfect going up in the dark with headlamps and enjoying seeing things from a different perspective rather than going later like 7am so heading down you see everything that you didn’t going up so it makes the hike better since it’s pretty much a 10hr hike. Going up early at 2am and not knowing much farther you have to go was just great, but to just keep moving and the hike went by quick because by the time daylight started to show we were at the base of sub dome. Heading down was quick n easy, but by 10am traffic rolls in and makes it difficult.

Leave early for the hike to make the cables with little to no traffic. Make it before 8am cause up top people start to roll in and head down the cables with traffic is a pain to wait for people to pass n continue to descend.

The hike in general starts pretty easy for those that hike normally. The hike gets tough when you hit the foot high steps n they continue to get higher n higher, but that’s why you start early n you don’t see how much farther you have to go. Sub dome is just the same a bunch of foot high steps, but aren’t to bad if you go early and rest at the steps. Cables were surprisingly easy both up and down. Down is easiest, but going up isn’t bad if you have RUBBER GLOVES. Crazy beautiful site seeing going up cables and top. Used my GoPro and the videos are awesome.

Pack some good food and 4L of water. I managed to make it with 3L and have some left over, but it’s probably because we left early in morning.

Go prepared (food&water), go early, proper gear (boots&gloves, don’t forget permit, and enjoy the views going down.

What can I say, basically nothing beats this for a day hike.

Hiked in August 2018 from the parking area. Our trip lasted 6 hours total, 3 hours up, 1 hour for lunch near the glaciers, and 2 hours down. Beautiful views of lakes, waterfalls, and mountains. Saw a few mountain goats and bighorn sheet. Very congested with hikers at midday. I highly recommend starting early in the morning. We wore long sleeves and long pants at 7am, but quickly stripped into short sleeves and shorts by 8am. Bring lots of water and stop to enjoy the views!

This trail is incredible!!! The views are breathtaking As you get closer to the bridge. The trail narrows and becomes much more challenging! Bring water!!!

Great views but very crowded. I would try to go earlier in the day before the crowds show up. Easy trail overall, except for one short spot you have to scramble up.

Awesome trail. Very scenic. Going to the bridge was challenging but worth it. Highly recommend!

This route sucks, don’t take the 4X4 road like all the other suckers. Turn off onto the single track that parallels the road, as there are several amazing trails cutting through beautiful Arizona rock and forest. The road is dusty and stinks of gas from the vehicles.

Once you get off the 4X4 road this is a fun, strenuous trail that shoots straight up the canyon walls. Photo op at the end.

Take wagon wheel to the upper trail-head. It is a gorgeous meandering route to the arch without having to hike the fire road.

The long, flat road gets a bit monotonous, but otherwise fun hike, especially the final third.

If you enjoy hiking for peace and quiet, this is not the hike for you. Very crowded on a Saturday at late morning. The bridge itself is stunning but there’s a lineup of people waiting for photos. Tip: avoid walking the whole way on the dusty road to the trailhead by taking the short trail that leads from back of the parking lot by the bathrooms (just follow the signs) — you’ll end up on the road eventually but it’s a much nicer walk via the trail.

So far the most scariest hikes I've done. My best friend and I are scared of heights, so to be able to accomplish this hike for the first time all the way to the top in an 1hr8mins.; was the best feeling ever!

Great views. Beginning is a little boring but well worth the trip.

So pretty!
