Awesome hike, albeit quick and easy.

This is a great, “mediumish” day hike that’s high on scenery, easily accessible, and fun for humans and canines of all ages.

Amazing hike for our family. Spectacular scenery, well maintained trails, and lots of fun falls/river spots to stop for snacks. Our 5 year old had no problem with this hike, which pleasantly surprised us. We arrived around 10 am and were lucky enough to get a parking spot at the trailhead. Trails were way less crowded than popular hikes farther north in the park. Rangers were very helpful, friendly, and informative!

Really enjoyed this trail. Arrived at 4pm on a Sunday. Only saw three other people. So quiet and tons of wildflowers. Didn’t see any wildlife besides birds, but the river at the end was so lovely to cool off in and relax. Also loved the cabin. Would definitely do this hike again.

It was a bit more rugged than I had anticipated, but my bone stock JK made it through with flying carpets. Choosing the right line is integral, would definitely run this one again!

We started the day with a pair of moose watching us gear up. This was the kids favorite hike because of all the water. Got busy around noon when we were almost done. Lots of good places to stop for snacks at the falls.

Did this hike last weekend and loved it. I'd say it's a moderate hike - hardest part is the length. The trail is covered for the most part which is nice in the summer. Start EARLY - I got on the trail ~9am and there was already little to no parking. Definitely worth it.

Lots of steps at the top of this climb, but I really enjoyed it. I’m not in great shape, but was able to complete the climb without too much trouble. I felt pretty proud when I completed the climb, as it was a nearly 1000 ft increase in elevation. There is a bathroom towards the top of the trail, which was a nice convenience.

Good spot for fishing

challenging, at some points you're going up steps that are 1-2ft high. but the view is 100% worth it, and the lake is beautiful. don't go in it, tho, there are leeches!

It’s a fun hike up to the lake with tons to see on the way. Dream Lake was our favorite part of the hike - absolutely gorgeous, we felt at point like we’d stepped into a lord of the rings movie. I agree the trail is moderate depending on the person. We hiked it pretty quickly but there were a couple parts that got a little steep. It’s partially paved or there are rock steps pretty much the whole way though. Great hike and would do it again! We got there early around 7am and it was not too crowded at all - go early.

We have done this hike a couple is times and love it! (most recently 7/24, arriving at 7:50am) It is definitely popular, so get there either very early or later in the afternoon. When we arrived, the main parking lot was full and we parked a little way off from the trail head... and that was before 8am on a Tuesday. The hike is on the easier side of moderate with quite a bit of gentle grade, some steps, lots of level places, and some steeper incline towards the end. Definitely take the side path to Copeland Falls and climb around to get close to Ouzel falls (If you get to the bridge at Ouzel falls you have missed the turn off point to get close). Most of the hike is along water and shady. If you are a serious hiker, you will consider this pretty easy; if you are not a Colorado native (still getting used to the elevation) or don't do a lot of hiking, this will be a good hike with a little challenge. The are several falls along the way and the path is dynamic, crossing streams, some views, some wildflowers. Every step of the way is really quite beautiful.

Very pretty hike with good elevation gain, but huge crowds...

The lake is beautiful! It can get difficult at points on the trail but nothing too crazy. We are 30 year olds in relativity good shape and didn't need to take any breaks. The amount of people going up and down will give you quick breathers as you go. Highly recommend this trail!

Beautiful, easy, hike! Got there around 9AM and it was extremely crowded the whole time. However, the views and lakes truly are incredible.

This was a hard hike. Straight up and very rocky

Great hike! Make sure you do the full loop. Beautiful views. The last couple miles of the trail follow along the river. Fairly easy incline.

Lake Haiyaha is simply breath taking. We chose to head to Dream and Emerald Lakes first as our hiking friend had never been. We then back tracked up to Lake Haiyaha. The trail is well marked and can be a bit rocky. You will come across the 1st pond but this is not the prize, continue on up to the actual lake, you will not be disappointed. Climb over the boulders and let yours eyes soak up the beautiful colors of the lake. Would love to hike again.

The trial was beautiful. Got lost and never finished trail. Going to invest and get the pro app. Will do again and rate again when completed.

I have been wanting to do this hike since I moved in November 17 and finally made it out that way today!!! Pictures do not do this place justice. Not only the lake but small spaces the entire way up as well as spouting rock! The blue jays were on point as well as some chipmunks which were cute but sadly way to use to being fed

I've done this trial two years in a row now, and I legit think I’m doing it next year too. It’s such a peaceful and refreshing view, and it’s a moderate hike that is worth it. Through, in parts this year the trail was hard to follow/find, but still ridiculously fun.

Do you like rolling your ankle? Do you like busy trails? This is the trail for you then. The trail is clearly visible until the scramble to the top on the near peak, I stayed on the northwest side and found a route suitable for me without any issues. The worst part of the trail, other then being really rocky, was a stretch right after the washed out area. Lots of incline there. For me slow and steady wins the race. Great views from the top. I wanted to go to the second peak but I could see storms moving in so I left.

Good, fairly easy hike. Bring plenty of water. Weather changes quickly. Very pretty views of the valley.

Great trail, rained on us but other than that it was awesome!!!

Was warned about the crowds, so we left the Bear Lake parking lot at 6:45 AM. Hike was peaceful and spectacular. We stopped 3-4 times to catch our breath. We hiked at a modest pace and finished in two hours.

Beautiful hike... Well-marked and easy to follow. It will fall between easy to moderately-difficult depending on the person. The last bit of the trail leading up to Emerald Lake is the most challenging portion: a steep incline with LOTS of stairs. Dream Lake and Emerald Lake are breathtaking and well worth it, though. I gave it four stars because of how heavily trafficked it was. If you are looking for a peaceful wilderness experience... this may not be the choice for you. Lots of people, loud voices, and cell phones at every turn.

This was a great hike with breathtaking views... My partner and I started around 7:45 AM and reached the summit just after 9:30. We spent about an hour at the peaks before heading back down, and we reached our car around 12:00. We traveled at a brisk pace with a few stops to hydrate and catch our breaths. The air is thin and dry, so take your time, and (as always) bring more water than you think you’ll need. As many of the previous reviewers have stated, I would rank this hike as more moderately-difficult than hard. The trail has a slight incline most of the way with a few steep portions in between. It is rocky/jagged towards the end, at the summit, and on the way back down, so wear footwear that have protective soles lest you hurt your feet. The majority of the hike is in the forest- very shady and peaceful... Overall, this hike is a great choice for inexperienced hikers. Very doable, and the views will definitely not disappoint!

mills lake was awesome...hike is fairly crowded, but a lot better once you get past Alberta falls...the lake and landscape is a must see!
