My first IMBA Epic trail and it was great! I tried it out on a fat bike during the summer months and it rode well throughout the trails. The system offers challenging obstacles and beautiful views. Sidewinder is often exposed, which makes it seem more difficult than it is. I would highly recommend this area and you could easily spend a day exploring all it has to offer

This is probably one of my favorites. Family is from central Illinois found this trail on this website and tried it out! Great trails, beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Well mark trails. The parking lot is easy to access and close to the trail. I highly recommend this trail. Kinda muddy in some spots but it has just rained. Also when it did start down pour raining there was so many trees to that sheltered us from the down pour!

Side note: If you have kids that want to swim in the lake there is a part of the trail that takes you there! Take towels :)

easy path with some excitement stomping through the creek.

very short. but nice.

Trail was about 0.3 miles. Waterfall spot was nice but nothing too exciting. Most of the upper area has been blocked off because people used to jump and injure themselves.

my favorite trail. I live in the area and always love going to this trail. its busy but worth it. wish people would stay off the waterfall (as there is a sign that says u can't go on it) so it can be there years from now

Went here on the recommendation of a fellow dog walking friend and absolutely fell in love the restaurant place. Stunning views of the lake can be see throughout the trail and so beautifully maintained. The great thing is the walk down to the lake where lots of families picnic and enjoy their day. Dogs are definitely welcomed on leash and the best part is that when the wind is coming from the east the lake trail is actually much cooler and for a mountain dog owner who hates any heat this makes a huge difference.

Nice paths marked clearly. 303 steps to the top of Roche-a-Cri Mound ... well maintained steps with viewing platforms along the way. Mostly shaded trails. Had a few pesky gnats and mosquitoes but not enough to scare us away.

The view at the top was amazing! The trail was steep and we had to navigate around two huge trees that had fallen across the trail. There also was a lot of erosion. Even though the trail needed some work the view at the top was worth it

Arrived early and had the place to ourselves. Trail starts out easy and then you encounter rocks to get to the waterfall. Still easy going climbing around the rocks and worth it to get to the waterfall. Great place to photograph..

It's a great little running trail, i saw all types of birds and even a little rabbit on my 2nd lap. Yes there is traffic noise, and yes you do run through the FVTC parking lot, but it is a inner city trail, not a wesrern widerness trail.

Short but interesting

Nice easy hike. Beautiful scenery.

Great trail practicing for the big one. I will be back.

This was my first IMBA Epic bike ride and we experimented with Fat bikes for the first time, too. The mountain biking was great and not too, terribly difficult, but offered quite a few challenges with rocks, roots, bridges, and other obstacles. Sidewinder is marked as probably the most difficult of the trails, but it’s not as bad as you might think; the most intimidating part are the steep drop-offs, but they are really not that bad. The trail system is easy to follow and very well marked. Also, the headquarters is really nice! This trail system is definitely worth your time!

Well maintained

Love this place, hike up top for a gorgeous view of the lake and then take the stairs down and see how close to Port Washington you can go.

Very short hike with a nice swim at the end in some chilly water.

Wear water shoes and walk in the water back to the falls. Nice wide and paved trailhead. Short hike, but very fun and pretty.

We LOVE this 3 mile loop! Beautiful vistas, wood boardwalks through the marsh, bridges, well maintained and labeled trails through the woods (accessible trails marked), stairs down to Lake Michigan and wildlife/flowers everywhere! I hiked this with my 8, 12 and 14 year old girls. They loved it, too! We went on a Thursday afternoon and we passed several hikers, dogs and joggers on trails and beach. Bugs were as you would expect for a June Wisconsin day. Bug spray helped. Parking lot close to well marked trails. Easy to find. Bring a camera - the views are incredible!

Beautiful!

Nice easy walk with gorgeous scenery!!

Beautiful place to spend a day. Lots of rental opportunities on the lake as well like, kayak, boat, paddle board etc. will do again!

I love this loop. I visit it probably a half dozen times a year. Great views, easy hiking, places to camp, accessible restrooms. Weekends are quite busy by the falls.

Wonderful easy trail.

I with multiple aspen stands, mature white birch, a large cedar grove winding to the lake, a truly enormous diversity of plants, I can’t think of another, more interesting spot on the lake. I understand why it’s often crowded.

Trail is well maintained and even lit in most places. The Pros: the lock bridge is a must see. The rapids are gorgeous and the locks placed on the fence is sentimental. The Ruins are also a must see. The ruins are a bit off the beaten path shortly after the bridge but not difficult to find. The rest of the trail was just ok. Nothing super fancy or truly scenic. I'd recommend playing disc golf on the way. The course is gorgeous! Biking would be amazing.

Great place for hiking and the overlooks are fantastic. You can get some nice views on Porky Point, very close to the east parking lot. The grand views are on the south hill along Toad Road, Clarence, and South Point.

really nice, lots of fresh animal tracks. very cool
