Did this hike today with my 13 year old daughter. First time in Hawaii. Very few people on this trail this morning and the views from the top are amazing! Definitely worth the drive from Waikiki.

Beautiful trail, reasonably interesting and moderately challenging (any trail I can hike in my swimsuit is not hard...). Would give it 5 but it was somewhat crowded with teens playing music loud enough you couldn’t ignore it (bah I’m old and want to hear the nature)

Pretty!!! Muddy, slippery and bring bug spray.

The hike is short and steep along the cliffs to an amazing view of the west side. We went at sunset, and it was so beautiful that our friends actually ended up getting engaged at the top! :)

This hike is very lovely through the forest and along a few streams. We parked near the Hawaii Nature Center to begin the hike, and headed to the left (counterclockwise) to hike the loop. It is wet and somewhat muddy but very enjoyable. The trees will cover you from the rain and/or sun.

It was my first ever hike. Two days ago. Still paying for it:) It was marked pretty well, and incredibly beautiful. Oh ya, and definitely don’t go after a rain. It gets pretty slippery and super muddy.

Great hike to a nice water fall on the East Side of the island. We were the only ones there for about 30 minutes which made it nice.

The flowers along the trail were nice to look at and the canopy cover from the trees made a nice touch. Easy to find, parking is easy, and the hike was nice and relaxing.

I would totally do this hike, main reason there was NO crowd. A good workout, nice views but do be careful it is muddy and gets slippery.

It was great, a little muddy but worth the trip to get to the waterfall!!

One of my favorite hikes. Because of what it symbolizes .

If you want a real life jungle book hike that ends with waterfalls, rope swings, and cliff jumping then this is a MUST DO. This was the most fun I have ever had on a hike! It was a decent workout getting to the waterfall area and it felt like a little party over there with people flipping off cliffs and swinging on the ropes. BRING SWIMMING SHORTS or BATHING SUITE!

The climb out can feel steep at times but just keep churning those legs as it is doable incline up the enormous tree roots.

Great hike with some breathtaking views and a rewarding swimming hole at the very end. Bring a walking stick and definitely do not attempt if it’s rained recently!

Definitely best to go in the early morning or week day if you can, it gets crowded but the views are definitely worth it. It is a short hike but don’t forget about the sun cause it gets hot, so bring lots of water!!

Took the counter clockwise route as suggested by many; as advertised, it was a workout but we'll shaded. The trail is muddy in most areas, so ware appropriate hiking boots. lots of changing fauna and plenty of birds. Nice hike all in all.

We went today and it rained last night, the trail was muddy and slippery. It was hard but worth it, bring a change of clothes.

GPS lead you to street parking. If you use google maps the trail is marked near it at the top of Manaiki st. Pleasantly surprised. To me it is a hidden gem. Im an amateur photographer and this place was really neat for the stairs and the water tower. I saw some cool flowers and a couple of tree frogs. So it was a cool experience for me.

I just went to the falls and back. Nice hike, but got several big bites...recommend bug spray.

Amazing view of the west side. Love this hike. Short with some incline.

Beautiful trail, good workout, and very few people around. You are able to move at your pace and enjoy.

BUG SPRAY a must. #staysafetbm

Very fun for families, and it is easy & quick enough that even young kids stay motivated. My 4 & 6 year olds had a very easy time, despite the mud.
Park at the back of the golf course and walk up the first clearing. There’s an old metal chain blocking cars from driving up the hill. This is the start of the trail...it’ll soon come to a large graffitied basin. Turn left right before you reach it, where there’s a clearing in the trees with an obvious path up. This first 10 minutes was the muddiest for us, and it’s red mud so be prepared for stained clothing.
Follow the trail thru the obvious path (marked with pink ribbon every so often, but also pretty easy), and then turn right when you reach the tree with blue markings. This point is about 5 minutes from the falls.
There’s only one point where we thought we may have gone the wrong way, but you just need to duck down theu the tree branches and walk over a sort of rock wall. It’ll open again within about 20 seconds.
The falls are awesome! We went the day after a rainstorm, so the water was really going. It’s fresh water and is safe to play in! There’s a shallow pool right at the base of the falls that’s perfect for kids and adults alike. There’s even a large rock right in the middle that’s perfect for sitting for a snack or a photo op!
My kids easily tolerated going barefoot in the pool. The water flows pretty hard, so watch young kids with getting under the fall. There are also some easy spots to climb up the surrounding rock walls.
Overall, a very family friendly hike with a cool payoff! Especially good for young kids or people not accustomed to the more strenuous paths.

nice views

Bring change of clothes or swimsuit with you.

Lots of fun. Push hard and it’s a good sweat!! Trail head on the right as you drive up the incline. Look for cars. Blink and u miss it. It’s not in the neighborhood like map indicated.

This was one of our best hikes on Oahu this week, and we completed about 10. However, it does not have some of great views of some of the other hikes. We had a lot of fun and this hike was not as crowded as many of the hikes, We saw about 6 or 8 groups on the hike on the trail or at the pools, including Kenro and his family (see below). The first half of the out and back trail is very easy, however it is about 0.7-miles down to the waterfall pools. This does have some interesting steep sections with lost of roots. I would rank this trail as moderate, although it would probably be very slippery after a heavy rain. There are two main pools that you can swim in at the end
of the trail. Very cool and refreshing.

I took my 17 month old son in osprey. If I can do it you can to just took me little longer then normal. This is an awesome trail. No doubt that waterfall is great. The water was really cold but once you are in you get use to it. The way down is not hard but can be hard after a lot of rain the day before. Everything can be muddy/slippery. It is the way back up that is tough. My leg were done. But I had my son on my back

One of the worse Ridgeline trails yet. Views are ok. You just never get the satisfaction that the hike was worth the end result. Better off doing another ridge

Was very steep but a lot of fun! It was cool to see the couple different bunkers still up there. Definitely needs water and patience. Thankfully part of the hike is in a little bit of shade later in the day.
