Breathtaking views! Pretty crowded, especially the first few waterfalls (lots of people stopping for photos), but the farther you go, the less people there are. You can walk behind a couple of the waterfalls, and those areas usually have large puddles of water and can be pretty muddy so heads up! I highly recommend this hike, it's drop-dead gorgeous!

Great elevation gain, took us a while, and we did it in the heat. But the view was so worth it!

A fun trail with a rewarding view! Just be sure to turn left at the pile of rocks near the top. Got tricked up there for a second ;). If you continue further down along the rocks at the summit you can find a nice little point away from most of the crowd

Did this hike on Friday morning. Got there 10 minutes before 8am right when they opened the gate. Glad I got there early as by the time I finished the loop it was there was a lot of people going in. Beautiful hike!

Beautiful hike! Could be a bit challenging for those not wanting to walk on a log to cross a small stream but aside from that the hike was flawless. A must when visiting Mt. Hood.

nice today. the meadows are so but more beautiful in the spring and summer. NC did a controlled burn a few weeks ago so it's a little chard.

Absolutely beautiful trail. Didn’t make it all the way to the lake, but lovely by the creek all along the way. Gently sloping, not very technical.

Very well maintained trail with lots of picturesque scenery, including the river, waterfalls, forest, open space with obsidian boulders and of course - lakes and Mountain View’s. Went over Labor Day weekend, lots of other hikers but not crowded. The hike in was 2 hours. We took a 30 minute break to snack and take in the scenery then hiked out, which took 1.5 hours. Would recommend.

gets crowded, but great payoff

Hard for me to completely rate this trail fairly. Started out hiking at 11p so it was pitch black. Very cold that night and to make matters worse once we got to the lakes the wind decided to get crazy. If I was to guess sustained 15mph with gusts all night up to 40. Powerful enough to have branches fall on our tent. In the morning the lakes were pretty but again very very cold mostly due to the wind. We did a loop with soda creek trail back to the trail head and decided to forgo no name lake that night given how windy it was the previous night at a lower elevation. The lakes were definitely pretty and so was the western side of broken top and the eastern end of sisters. Great overall trail system in this region no doubt.

Just completed yesterday. Started Monday from TL Lodge and went clockwise, as suggested. If I had do overs I would do CCW and end on easy, cruising trail rather than the sandpit climb back up to the lodge.
Water crossing were all easily done with dry feet except for the last one, White River, when done CW. I easily forded that one. Rock hopping possible, I'm sure, if you are willing to scout up and down the river a ways. I determined the ford the safest and fastest way and it felt refreshing on my worn feet.
Trail conditions are great. Water sources plentiful even with many dried out for the season. Completed in 2.5 days. 40's at night. Cool in the mornings but hot in the afternoons. Pack appropriately for 3 seasons and get out there and do it while the window is still open. From what I hear, this is atypical for this time of year. Glad I was able to sneak it in!

Really awesome trail with views, and so accessible being right off the highway for any car (forest pass required).

Definitely agree with other reviewers that it’s worth it to take the trail around mirror lake on your way up or back, up to you, and if it’s not too choppy you get an extra beautiful show.

Trail was super well maintained and wasn’t as busy as I expected on a Weds afternoon. Crowd thins after Mirror Lake (trailhead you park @ is Mirror Lake Trailhead). Gorgeous fall colors right now too!

Great hike, perfectly clear day so the views were fantastic. I did the 2 mile upper hike so it was easy

Beautiful

This was such a fun hike! My friends and I are definitely not experienced but we were all physically capable of this hike. It was a bit more challenging than we had expected but we were still able to hike up and down in around 3-3 1/2 hours. Mirror lake was fun to stop and take some photos. We had beautiful weather. The views were spectacular! Will suggest and do this hike again!

My brother & I hiked this trail and it was yet another GREAT and WORTHY hike for sure.
There are some pretty AWESOME views on the way to the ASTOUNDING looking waterfall and is also a very good hike because the journey back has different views and is a different cool trail because it's a loop hike.

P.S. There are some GNARLY potholes on the way to the parking spot but as long as your aware of how and where your driving even a compact car like mine is able to make it without damaging your vehicle.

amazing views! I'm so glad I went, and persevered until the top!

Very beautiful with fall colors. Falls were alittle weak compared to other times visited, yet just as beautiful and worth the drive!!

This hike was pretty crowded on an October day. It starts out as paved, but turns into a rocky and dirt trail shortly into the start. It can be pretty slippery at times. It’s very beautiful and you get to go behind waterfalls.

Absolutely worth the climb and the sweat to get to the top. Seeing 5 peaks was a lucky experience!!

My brother & I drove ALL the way here for nothing...
We can hike like beasts and navigate well but once we got about 1/2 way done with the hike, your just left stranded and guessing.
there's a HUGE lack of signs and you just get lead to an open area of complete confusion.
We tried to find the right trail using the description but had no luck at all.
We tried to find the right way for an hour or two and just said screw all of this and packed it home.
If you want to waste your time... Come Up To This Trail!

This trail is beautiful especially in the fall. I did the hike alone but i don’t recommend that. A few dangers to keep in mind: the fog can roll in quickly and you can lose visibility. I hiked it September 28- October 2 2018. I was 1 mile from the lodge and the fog rolled in and i lost the trail. Pretty much where the hiker that just died was found a week later. It was scary but i had a beacon in case of emergency. I ended up by palmer lift up on the glacier. It was very scary. I got lucky and the fog cleared for a second and i saw the palmer lift and then it disappeared again. I started to head that direction and back down hill when i got a brief glimpse of the lodge and then it also disappeared again. I was lucky i was in a ravine that went straight to the lodge. I was stuck up there for 6 hrs before i found my way back. I almost used my beacon but grateful i didn’t have to. I totally recommend the hike you just need to be prepared for anything. I plan to go back and see where i went wrong. I also am advocating for a sign to be added where that turn off is. Multiple hikers have gotten lost there. Good luck it was absolutely breathtaking and i feel like a badass fir completing the hike solo. Yeah me!!

absolutely beautiful and full of different types of scenery. there was limited visibility at the top when we went, which added to the feeling of being in another world.

Very picturesque and mild hike. The elevation climb was gradual that it felt very easy. It was an overcast day so we kept a good pace. The river crossing was easy since the water was low. The falls were smaller than I imagined but still quite beautiful.

Began at 7am and completed clockwise loop in 1 day. Precipitation most of the day and clouds finally cleared around mile 30 for some great views. Not much runoff so river crossing were relatively dry. No GPS signal for offline map, garmin watch or inreach tracker that day around Heather and Clark creek so study that area well to avoid losing the trail.

We backpacked mid-September and experienced a mixture of weather. The views were amazing and there were many trails we explored once camp was set up. Grab a good water filter so you don’t have to weigh your bag down with lots of water. There are many places to refill with the filter. Trekking poles were helpful as there are a couple spots once at the lakes where you can cross water on logs but they are slippery so be careful. There are lots of easily located designated camp spots and a back trail to hike South Sister if you wanted. Will go again for sure!

Quite easy. lovely scenery. very busy on a Sunday around noon.

Well graded for the most part and very well maintained. Many miles above the treeline, offering amazing views on the top part of the mountain and its many glaciers. River fording can be tricky, but is a major highlight of the Trail.
Found much secludedness when we tackled the whole trail in early october. Got snowed on! Great experience.

on Trail of Ten Falls

Went during the week and there were still a fair amount of people on the trail in the morning, but didn’t feel overcrowded. Winter Falls is currently dry and Double Falls is barely a trickle. Overall beautiful fall colors and scenery.
