great hike!

best place to walk/run. lots of hills but worth it to work out with your legs . i enjoyed it . i love running there because it’s not one plain ground . this park have a lot of hills and turns and it keep yourself more busy and thinking . sorry, no dogs allowed which really sucks :( love hearing so many noises especially the birds chirping! i highly recommended to go 11/10

There were many trails to choose from. Grab a map! Great hike.

These trails are DOPE. Some of the favorite that I've run in the US. Must do for ridiculous turnbacks, curves, bunny hills and wood bridges.

Awesome to learn something new and hangout with friends and family

A nice afternoon hike that is just a short distance from DC. If you have time, the Shenandoahs are only 90 minutes away and so much better, but sometimes you only have an afternoon or just cannot get to the Shenandoahs. This hike is a great close in one in DC with good streams and more solitude than you would expect.

Great trails that gives you a workout

Park was beautiful and well maintained. Had access to sandy beach area. We saw lots of wild life- clams, crabs, fishing cranes, etc. Trail was perfect for our senior dog.

Trail has mis-marking. Overall a great trail though.

saw Mr Beaver when creek was frozen.
started from lot E.

Dog friendly hike! Not too crowded.

Lovely hike (did the South Valley Trail to the North Valley Trail out and back). Several opportunities to cross the stream on logs which was fun. Would rate easy not moderate, but definitely enjoyable.

The long red route measured out at 4.1 mi. Pretty well marked with red metal blazes or red paint. Only iffy spot was at Camp Wilson where blazes stopped. Just walk straight down entry drive and you’ll pick up red blaze 200 yds down on your right. Second half is along water, wide and flat, first half is narrow trail thru woods and flat.

Trail is very well maintained, the blazes could be a little easier to find in some spots though. Really enjoyed the hike, no traffic on a Thursday afternoon.

I’ve only ever been mountain biking here, which was strenuous for the non-experienced person. But I could see how hiking/trail running would be an awesome time!

Nice trails and obstacles to enjoy while hiking or trail running! I enjoy these trails!

The blue trail was well marked. It has enough up and down hills to make your workout in your cardio zone.

Beautiful trail, wide and well maintained. Silent and peaceful most of the way as it’s away from main roads. You actually follow a trail named Mustang loop 1/2 mi from parking area and pick up Thompson creek loop which is the main trail on this map. There is a 1.1 mi trail called Wood Thrush loop that starts and ends at the bridge halfway through and is easy and very pretty. That puts you right back on Thompson creek trail. The whole thing is about 3.5 to 4 if you do it that way. All trails are well marked. Seems like a lot of horseback usage, although it was quiet and deserted on a Nov Sunday afternoon.

Great trails though steep. Watch out for horse poop.

Nice 4 mile loop, geared more to mtbs than hiking as it’s single track and has loose cobbles. Rolling hills, nothing too strenuous. Beautiful forest pretty quiet even on weekend afternoon and made for a nice hike.

We greatly enjoyed this trail. It's paved with nice scenery. We went on a Saturday, and there were few people using the trail on bikes or walking. There are rest stops along the way but not many with drinking water stations so bring your own. There are also portable toilets along the route. It's a fairly easy route.

Leesylvania State Park is a great place to spend a day. Several hiking trails along the Potomac. Pretty easy as well, not much elevation. Beach fronts are nice and the pier is awesome. Great place!

This is a wonderful, yet tough hike. Plan on hiking up and over lots of ridges and hills.

Very well maintained trail. As a recreational rider I enjoyed the morning

The loop is decent. Not much variety in the scenery, but the pets along the creek are nice. Bathroom stop along the way is a plus. Trail was relatively empty on a gray weekend day, which is nice if that's what you're looking for.

Nice hike to the observation blind. We saw a Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron in the march area!

Heart pumping climbs, steep descents and plenty of recovery straightaways in between. Primarily wooded views with creaks and occasional ponds. My wife and I enjoyed a 6 mile hike today and look forward to trying another direction next time.

Great beginner mountain biking trail

Great trail that challenges you with many ups and downs and primarily in the woods and along the stream. Does a great job of avoiding walking along roads, for the most part.
