Such a ludicrously beautiful hike. It will wear you out, but it is worth the time it takes to complete it.

Beautiful views! Don’t be daunted by the chain and edge walk... if you can walk on a sidewalk you can walk across the exposed edge! Bring lots of water if it’s a sunny day, as you’ll be very exposed to the sun in the valley.

WARNING THE ROAD IS TERRIABLE TO GET THERE. takes about 40 minutes to go 7 miles. I recommend an all wheel drive or truck. I camped at the campground then departed in darkness. I had 3.03 miles one way to the top. well worth it was an amazing view. I highly recomend it.

8/11/2018. Stayed at the Garnet Mountain lookout cabin for the weekend. It was a little Smokey but the 360 views were amazing. Highly recommend!

Great hike. Lots of mountain scenery. Lake was pretty. Hike off trail at the lake up to a snow field with great views of the lake. There was smoke from the fires in Glacier Park on the US side.

This was a nice slow hike through the woods. I got to the parking lot at around 830 am on a Friday thinking it would be crowded, but I was one of a couple of vehicles there. The trail is rocky but very doable. I had no problems with the trail or the hike. I seemed to be the only person on the trail at that time of day. it wasn't until I was getting close to the lake that younger hikers started passing me. It is a beautiful lake with wonderful views. On the return hike to the parking lot, the crowds were just heading up.

One of the best trails I have ever been on. Get to the park early and park at Logan Pass. Grab the shuttle back up. The last 4 miles are in full sun with no shade. Stop at the Granite Chalet if you need water or Gatorade, bring cash.

been there many times. I always enjoy the varying terrain and scenery.

Awesome hike. We stayed below Holly Lake. It is tough but well worth the work.

Great short hike with beautiful views.

Long hike, very busy . Was able to walk out onto the ice and jump in for a dip at the lake to cool down. Pictures make it seem more intense than it actually is. Cable isn't even needed. Has some nice scenery but the traffic takes away from the experience for sure.

Rocky trail with some interesting creek crossing structures that work well until the it goes down a bit. Lots of friendly people and dogs out and about. Great destination for a quick break before you head back down.
And if you enjoy wild strawberries those should be ripe in the next few weeks!

it is a great hike, but if you're not used to hiking up for a while then you will be tired! there are many false summits so prepare yourself mentally to be disappointed when you see another peak!! we hiked in the dark on our way out and the trail was easy enough to do it with ease!

A well populated trail. Despite the number of people who fill up the trail, the lake itself is huge, and there is opportunity to spread out a bit once you reach the lake. Nice spots to picnic or take a dip in the lake.

Climbed, went awwwwww! Hard day.
Started the hike from the Logan pass parking lot. Needed to arrive by 7:15 AM in order to secure parking. Headed out immediately onto the trail. Very busy so want to start as early as possible. The hike is just totally awesome all the way through to the chalet. Once leaving the chalet it is a 4 mile fully sun exposed hike to the shuttle stop. You will want to double your water if you going to do this hike in the summer.

On Sunday My husband dropped me off at Logan Pass. I was on the trail at 8 am. Spectacular views.the whole Highline Trail to the chalet. Went up Glacier Overlook. I took many breaks coming up. None coming down. Very windy at the overlook. I saw 1 goat and three deer. Got to chalet at 1 pm. I purchased a Gatorade at the chalet and used the pit toilet. A woman 15 minutes ahead of me on the Loop Trail saw a bear. The people ahead of me periodically whooped and yelled “here bear”. I did not see a bear.
I got to the Going to the Sun Road at 2:50 pm, just as a shuttle bus went by. The shuttle buses were only taking 2 people at a time and there were over 10 people in line, in full sun. The line moved more due to people hitch hiking than due to shuttle buses. After waiting an hour, an off duty ranger asked the group a few questions. Then suggested that one person per group get on the shuttle. Then drive their car from Logan Pass to the Loop and pick up the rest of their group. The next shuttle to arrive took 12 people. . .

A fun hike. A bit of everything for everyone. I would rate this as easy to low intermediate. The ladder, tunnel and little climb after are cool but very short and extremely easy to handle. We took our time and made it up in 2.5 hours, stayed 2 hours on top then took the alternate route down and still made it back within 2.5 hours

Up to this point, this is the toughest hike I have ever done. I would rate this hike closer to difficult than to moderate. The terrain is very rocky and requires a bit more than average stamina. The ladder climb, cave traverse, and cable climb are not for the faint of heart. Loved it all! The descent is tough but is rewarded with multiple waterfalls. Recommend extra water or filter system. Went thru 6 liters

You share part of the trail with horses so there can be a lot of poop on the trail. We started at the petrified tree and went around lake where we encountered a heavy steam of hikers headed to the tree. The climb down to the lodge was very nice switch backs, shaded with lots of pines. More hikers coming up exhausted from climb up from lodge. We really did not like coming out of the trail into a resort with people everywhere eating their breakfast and shopping the general store. That was very odd and not our idea of hiking. The loop pretty much disappears here and we forged our own way back into the woods and found the trail again. It was grown over poorly marked and we navigated thru high weeds before the trail went straight up the mountain. We thought we were on the wrong trail until we saw one other group doing the loop in the opposite direction. Very poorly maintained trail.
The views are amazing but this is a hard vertical climb with a lot of direct sun exposure, make sure your hydrated and fit for a hard climb.
Overall the views of the valley and surrounding mountains were very nice.

shady, no mile markers, lots of pesky flies! lots of beautiful waterfall options. bring plenty of water, you'll need it.

Best trail ever! We took the earliest 8:30 water taxi and returned at 5:30 making it a full day of adventures. Do yourself a favor and bring a bathing suit and beers, we had the best time walking/swimming around the lake. Tip: put your beers in the water, it will be nice and chilly:) It took us the same amount of time to go back as to hike up.

Great hike with nice views. Moderate incline that was not too strenuous.

We hiked this trail on 8-3-2018 and found it challenging but doable. You feel pushed because you are not sure how much time you will need to meet up with the boat time. We picked a steady pace and made it in 2 hours and 45 minutes which we were told is better than the average. Stayed at the top had lunch and headed back. Still made it and had to wait an hour and half for the 4 pm boat. We took the early boat also which allowed us extra time. We did not have a lot of people on this day total maybe 60 .
Wonderful hike with a unique trail! If you don’t like heights don’t do this hike.
This was a wonderful day spent in Canada!

Magic trail, definitely moderate and perfect start to hiking in Bozeman.

Nice moderate hike to chilly lake. Two 60+ hikers and we made it up and back in just over 2 hours hike time. Would recommend. Just over 5 miles out and back.

Amazing hike, especially early in the morning. I hit the trailhead at 6:15 and was the first on the trail. Saw tons of sheep and some goats later on. Breathtaking views.

Ran with my two girls (11/9). We each carried a full hydro pack and brought a lifestraw along. We had plenty of fuel as well. The hike was amazing. We didn't hike to the top of the peak. We hiked to a lower one as I didn't feel safe enough with the last mile with my kids due to terrain.
The girls ran out of water at the peak and used the lifestraw on the way down. The waterfalls were amazing and so were the wildflowers! I would do this hike again in a heartbeat! It took us 5 hours to run/hike/enjoy this. I stopped and took a zillion photos and we spent about 20 minutes at the lake.

best hike in the park for me so far, we did it in 2 day and camped at Lake Elen Wilson

My first time and my new experience for hiking on this crypt lake has been fascinated me! This is literally a beautiful hike, recommend!

This was a nice hike that I didn’t find too difficult. We got on the first boat, which I highly recommend. We made it up in just over two hours. I find it more difficult coming down than going up. It’s more technical for sure. It was a great day.
