Short walk and sweet views

This is a nice little trail. I suggest parking on 165 at the Frosty Hollow pond area and taking Shelter trail all the way to Ben Utter. You get to pass through the old camping cabins and Steppingstone falls becomes a reward for a 5.5 mile journey through Arcadia. Round trip is a nice almost 12 miles. Great way to spend a day in the woods.

Nice hike. Loose rocks can make it a little nerve-wracking at times if you have a fear of heights. Easy-lower moderate in my opinion if you have a sense of adventure. Will do again soon!

Nice scenic walk with the puppy.

Great trail for walking your dog!

There is no parking at the trail head. Park at the YMCA in North Adams and there are signs leading to the trail head. Trail is beautiful. With the snow melting the water was very high and some areas of the trail was under water and a little washed out. Worth a visit!! Beautiful!!

Well marked and maintained trail. Enjoyed the scenic overlook of Crescent Lake from the Orange\Blue trail. Looking to come back and do some kayaking on the Lake next time! Fun day! 3.5 stars.

start hike from Falls River rd. because they closed the gate to the entrance road... you have to walk a mile and a half just to get to the trail now... on a long dirt road.. not fun.

I walked around Walden Pond, last night, in the rain. It was a transcendent experience. If you have not already, please read Walden by Henry David Thoreau, before visiting this pond.

Excellent Hike!!! It exceeded my expectations! Great Views! A Great Workout and fun to be with friends! Happy Exploring

Easy, flat trail to take my six year old dog along. Great views of the water throughout.

I only had one hour and didn’t complete the hike but I’ve already made plans to come back. Beautiful trail by the river.

Easy trail with the dog. About 10 minutes in there was a bug attached to his face. Might’ve been a tick but we managed to get it off. One side is fairly muddy and wet but the other side is dry and has a nice clearing of the reservoir.

easy trail. good views. the castle was closed when we went.

Nice, easy walk around Walden Pond, great views of the water.

Lots of different terrain. Due to its close proximity to us, we go there a lot so the dog can run around and swim. On clear days, especially when the trees are bare, you can see Mounts Wachusett and Monadnock from the summit. It’s easy to get lost if you don’t know your way around, new trails occasionally pop up. Luckily, the blazing, signage, and overall quality of the conservation area have improved over the last few years.

Leisurely walk. Beautiful gardens and statues. Peaceful resting spots for birdwatchers or to sit and write.

Bring binoculars if you have them. Lots of wildlife: deer, seals, hawks or snow owls have been spotted.

Beautiful pond area. Easy walk. Fun for kids and dogs.

My concerns are the population of deer which leads to ticks. Be sure to use bug spray and check for ticks at home.

Nice little loop trail, no summit to speak of but a pond and some rocky outcroppings. Easy and quick.

Such a fantastic track, great in any weather and awesome for any difficulty, it becomes increasingly more difficult as you reach the falls but not enough to where beginners cannot complete it. went during the winter and during the summer and the trail is trafficked enough to see without any trouble but you kind of have the freedom to explore the woods. Would absolutely recommend, if i had any complaint parking is it, its in a suburb so it can be weird to maneuver well

Great hikes for kids. Lake, lean tos, streams, a damn, and small rock formations to keep them busy. We hiked white to red-white around the lake.

This might be my favorite trail. I love it.
