This trail was so great! We went on a sunny day and enjoyed all the sights and restraints near the path. I definitely recommend this one, for those whole live close.

Do it! You will not be disappointed. Views are really great

I’d recommend clockwise first to knock out the big hill early. You’ll be able to take advantage of the shade alongside the lake on your way back. Quiet and far fewer people than Redwood.

fav reg hike for dog, hiking, trail runs and evening strolls

one of my favs. great intense inclines and areas if flat and down hill parts. fantastic views and always a great hike in this area and on this trail !

We did the loop counter-clockwise which put the big hill about 4.5 miles into the hike. I would recommend tackling that early. Beautiful views of the reservoir.

Very scenic trail and a great workout. Went there by myself but if anyone needs company would love to go back :)

Awesome hike! challenging the whole time with amazing views to reward. definitely will be going back

my 1st ever hike. it was cold @ 8 am but the beautiful views along with my music in my ears made it all worth it & that much easier. I'd definitely do this hike again. I finished in 2 hours & 5 minutes.

Nice hike. Cold morning. Suggest going clockwise to hit the hill first to warm up.

Amazing views of rolling hills!

Beautiful forest and a decent climb

great hike. lots of trail runners, dogs, nice little incline, gorgeous views of the bay

Nice trail for a run. Mostly fire road width. Started near staging area on Skyline and headed clockwise. East Ridge Trail was pretty empty after a couple miles, even on a Sunday. The ascent on/to the West Ridge Trail from parking lot was a challenge but over quickly. Would certainly do this run again. Nice shade most of the time.

We meant to do 3 miles and ended up doing those 3 miles plus these 8.

Very scenic. Saw a sign about mountain lion but didn't see any. What a disappointment!

Nice bike ride through Berkeley, Albany, and El Cerrito. It runs parallel along the Bart track and there are a lot of street crossings. You could cut it in half by starting at the North Berkeley Bart station and taking the train back from the El Cerrito del Norte station.

At the north end, construction is underway to connect the Ohlone and Richmond greenways. Once this gap is closed, there will be a continuous 7.7 mile greenway from Berkeley to Richmond. It should be finished by the end of 2017.

Hard. About a good 800ft elevation gain within the first .7 miles. Gorgeous view of the Bay Area. Wear trekking boots as the path is steep and slippery.

This hike was a great sequence of microclimates and excellent views of the East Bay. I will definitely be adding it to my list of regular hikes. The exposed section near Dwight tests your footing, so watch out there.

Amazing hike! Sun to shade ratio is PREFECT!! Our dog loves every minute!

Went for the West ridge ascent. Super intense uphill then it's sweet sailing for 7 miles. A great ridge run... but don't blow past that Canyon trail descent marker on your ninth mile because you will curse the skies and Odin for half an hour.

Great local hike! Th first mile is basically straight up (60ish floors on my health app). Then rolling hills. Great views of the bay. Especially beautiful in spring with loads of wildflowers.

Quick ascent with a great five mile plateau. Some guy was taking a nap up there it was so aces.
