This was a very pretty trail to walk. It had very little elevation change, parallels the lake the whole time, and I only saw a few others on the trail. Very enjoyable!

Gorgeous snowy hike/walk on March 20. It took me longer than expected but it was so peaceful and I only saw one other person the whole time. So it was well worth the drive. Very majestic. Highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful hiking trail! I would not recommend it for trail running however. It is a very rocky path about 75% of the way. Yay hiking/nay running.

Loved it! Stair steppers Heaven! Recommend counter clock rotation of the loop. If you go clock wise you may find that you might want to skip the summit cause you're too tired. The left side off loop is more difficult and longer. When you get close to summit, trail gets harder to distinguish. Look for pyramid rock stacks and few trail markers. Creek runs along the right side of loop, you can treat to drink. But no water on the left side of loop. Enjoy!

The falls were running and we were able to get a quick run in before the rain showers. A great short run with incline!

Wonderful views and a easy trail. Perfect for kids!

Easy, early season hike. Not as many people as I was expecting there to be.

this was a lovely hike! I just wore my hiking boots and tried to be careful in areas where it looked icy!

This is like the ultimate stair master on the way up. If you have bad knees, you’re definitely going to feel it but the views are really beautiful. A lot of cool rock formations to climb around on along the way. Path is nearly dry except for a couple spots. The lake is not grand at the end but I didn’t regret it.

This spur of the moment hike was fun, but we look forward to hiking the area again when we are more prepared. Beautiful sites. Even stumbled across a herd of deer!

Great views of the peaks in RMNP, Longs Peak and Twin Sisters. Interesting rock formations along the way, and lots of steps. The lake was frozen but a nice place to stop for lunch and there was one stretch of snow/ ice that I was glad I had my poles for.. I imagine it gets crowded in the warmer months, but we will definitely go back and continue on to Balanced Rock (another 3 miles).

Well worth the slog to the sumit.

It had snowed this morning so some of the trail was covered with maybe an inch. Watch out for those snow covered icy spots. Also, the last stretch to the falls is extremely icy! Watch your step and wear spikes!

Amazing hike today, the weather was beautiful and there was barely any foot traffic which was really nice. Will never not love hiking Horsetooth.

Excellent views and waterfall

Hiked about a month or so ago and loved this one. I had never taken this road around Moraine Park so it was a completely new area of the park for me. Not many people at all compared to the huge crowds at Bear Lake or Glacier Gorge Trailheads.

Fern Lake is beautiful and has some incredible views once you get out there. The 25+MPH winds were the reason I only spent a few minutes out there even though I would have loved to spend much longer out there.

Trail was pretty clear most of the way through, there were a couple snowy stretches close to the Lake. Take your time, especially coming back, and you'll be good. Lake is frozen. Awesome views.

Nice hike with our son from CSU ON Sunday. Parking lot full, but only waited 2 minutes for someone to leave(Ranger cobtrolled). No spikes needed, poles were a great help. Beautiful views of Horsetooth Reservoir and great Mountain Vistas from the Rock. Took the easier, more gentle slope down the road, Great views and much easier on the knees!

If you want an intense workout to start your hike, I highly suggest this trail. The first part is more difficult, lots of switchbacks but there are some great landscape views. The town's that surround these trails have done a great job of allowing us access, while they rebuild, after those devastating floods.
Totally worth the drive to get there❤️

Great hike with nice views. Parking was difficult, very few options for where to park because all lots were fulll

Nice trail, lots of wildlife. Good trail year round for a nice, easy hike. Plenty of great spots for camping, moderate looking trail for 4x4 (steep and rocky in some parts). Will be returning with the jeep come summertime.

Wonderful hike, outstanding views throughout! It was 65 degrees throughout the hike and the snow was very minimal even at the top. I find it’s rare to find more strenuous hikes that aren’t very cold and/or buried in snow at this time of year. It’s challenging but manageable. A treasure for sure!

Nice hike. I wouldn't consider the hike too difficult. On the easy/moderate side. A little ice on the trail. Since it was nice day today, the trails were a bit busy. Not overly crowded. Nice views of from the tops of the ridge. As we suspected, the falls are not running yet. Make sure you wear mud ready shoes as there is a lot of mud and ice on the shady side. Hiking poles may not be a bad idea for the not so sure footed.

Ceran St Vrain was a pretty easy hike. I decided to continue and follow the trail 252 up the hill to Millers Rock to see what that had to offer....it offered some pretty amazing views. That part of the hike was tough. The trail was icy in spots and snowy in others, with a touch of clear trail. I wore my spikes the whole way through just to be on the safe side. I'm glad i did.

Nice challenging hike when you're out of chaos and need to build endurance again. many inclines and great in the winter.

beautiful place to go.

Good early morning hike

One of my favorite hikes to do when I need a good workout but don't want to travel too far out of town. I usually start at Well Gulch trail and work my way to Timber trail, head up the mountain and head to Arthurs Rock. Then I loop around the back side of the park on Howard Trail and Westridge Trail which end up connecting me back to Timber Trail and I head back down the mountain. In total I end up with around 9 miles and 1900ft elevation gain. The Well Gulch portion of this hike is easy, lots of shade and beautiful spring and summer wildflowers. If you are coming winter to early spring traction devices are recommended. This is a wet area with lots of shade and LOTS of ice.

Among my favorites for young kids. Plenty of tree cover and a steady incline, but not too steep for little legs and if you are wearing a baby. We used to hike this almost weekly, leaving Loveland about 10am, packing light lunch to eat on trail or in car after, and home around 2 pm, just iin time for naps.
