To Hike Map

I enjoyed the trails but thought they were poorly marked and the trail map is very confusing. I do plan on going again to check out the other trails I missed.

Aleays a nice hike with the kids to the waterfall!

There is just the right amount of incline to get your heart pumping, followed by a gentle walk to the peak (newly redone - great visibility to town now), and then by the old stone house foundations which are fun to poke around and climb. Everything is well marked. Impossible to get lost on this trail. My dog is a huge fan. Best time to come is toward the end of summer, right after a few days of rain or damp weather ... the mushroom blooms are insane. Always present are the bright orange salamanders.

Great little hike during the fall or early spring only!! Harder trail for kids and older hikers but an enjoyable one. Plenty of deer around the area and a nice little waterfall too. Recently an Eagle Scout added a nice midway seating area and a map to help guide you through. 10/10 would recommend

we went on the blue trail for a mile in. decent workout with rocky/gravely terrain. but next to a shooting range. no scenic overlooks.

I would say this is a moderate trail, fairly easy in the beginning with pretty flat and there is one to two steep parts. A nice hike. Trails are pretty well defined in that you see the trail, but not well marked in which directions to go. Without a map, it is easy to go on the wrong trail. Had to go back a few times to make sure I was going on the right trail. So check the map often if you want to stay on this trail.

very nice hike, great views, a lot of history, took the blue tail back, definitely recommend ed

nice short hike,to many gnats, must b the time of year, bring your cutter, recommended

Pretty good hike, ups and downs but nothing crazy. Brought my 2 yr old dog and it was perfect for him. A few sections seemed wet which seemed odd since we haven’t had any rain lately, not sure I’d recommend shortly after a storm. Views at this time of year were a little obstructed but I bet they are pretty nice in the fall when the leaves start falling.

Pretty trail, very steep but not too long. Next time I’ll go straight instead of left at the red markers to make the full loop. Also will wait until after a rain storm and when the leaves start to change...it will be gorgeous then!

great hike with beautiful views

Worth the hype alone for the access to history let alone the views and the trail, itself.
Definitely park on the side of the highway. I originally parked in the state park and wandered but the best entrance is to drive and park.
Echoing the fun of climbing on the slanted stones on the ledge. Finding the cave was a moment. Wow! To see his fire pit. (I took two wrong turns off the trail and thought I found his home... maybe they were his air B&B spots) I love this climb.

good hike with two kids, 5&9

Fun trail, one of the roads less traveled. From Pinnacle rock you can see out over Hartford, Lake Compounds, Bristol, and other nearby towns. Great views!

white man has left a lot of trash behind.
please bring trash bags

This is a very difficult trail, worth it but requires an experienced hiker/fit person. The waterfall is at the top so get up there but it won't be easy.

I do not recommend. Sketchy AF! It needs serious clean up and there is no waterfall ☹️ a vigorous stream at best.

Fun trail with varying terrian and inclines / declines. Offers a spectacular view.

Nice trail to hike. Trails were somewhat confusing. Did not see too much wildlife which i was hoping for but had a nice small lake that I wasn’t aware was there. Looks pretty good for fishing.

Very overgrown, I didn’t even want to walk in. Maybe I’ll try again in the fall or winter.

some of the trails that break off this loop could use some love, but it's a beautiful short hike.

I've been several times, good workout on inclines and old road is great for jogging. New and better view since they cut back the trees and created new sitting area.

The view from the top is worth the hike. Too many litterbugs leaving their trash around though.

Was less populated so I would suggest taking someone with you! Great trail, would hike again.

Beautiful place. I took a left on to a single track trail after a few hundred feet of gravel trail. It paralleled the highlighted rout above and let to the same tower lookout. Then continued on the m&m trail to Hartford rez no 6 for a swim!

loved the views, liked the slight difficulty, cave was awesome, felt spirit of the leatherman

this was a really nice place. it even has a small parking area. the entrance is just at the top of the small parking area...it's hard to see when the leaves come in

Good hike, with interesting wild life everywhere

I agree with previous comments, not difficult at all. Summit view was beautiful.
