beautiful trail.

There was a group of us girls backpacking it. It took us roughly 6 hours up and 2.5 down. You will see wild strawberries, which you can eat and of course lots of poison oak so be careful and dont stray off the trail.

the last portion is a big of a challenge, as it is steep.

we drank from the stream, fished at night and talked to the rangers.

it was well worth the hike.

Very hard cores trails up and down. Needed tone in shape and bring a lots of water. When you get to the top of half Dome take you time exploring all surrounding. Climbing the cable was pretty easy only if you have gloves and hardness equipments. Try to avoid crowds so made easier.

I enjoyed the hike but the trail was not always well marked.

see also Angel Falls Loop....

great hike with amazing views. Trail is a little difficult to find/follow in some spots but dont give up....its sooo worth it at the top!

Amazing and very rewarding hike!!! Make sure you bring enough water. I ran out right after hitting the top ( I took 1.5 liters) Thankfully I was hydrated enough to walk back down to the falls(probably 4 miles) to get more. Totally worth it!!! I was glad I had trekking poles with me, I would definitely reccomend to do the same!

Went by Lower and Upper Twins to George Lake today (8/1). Trail in great shape and easy to navigate. No bugs, mosquitos or other irratants. How lucky can you get.

Did this hike on July 13th, weather was amazing and we got very lucky to finish this hike before the fire. Definitely an ass kicker but if you’ve trained for it you’re fine. I took 4 liters of water and was fine but my friends took less and filtered water at the river. Apply and reapply sunscreen because the sun is on you for most of the trail. I recommend getting a harness for the cables because although it doesn’t make it easier going up, you do have a sense of security just in case. Take it slow, it’s a great adventure worth taking your time for.. Take lots of pictures and have fun!

For a novice this was great

Such a gorgeous hike. Spent a few days out near Shaver Lake recuperating from a conference. The three lakes made for an incredible experience and great R&R. From the east coast and live at an elevation of 410 feet, so the elevation made this slightly challenging but once adjusting speed no issues were had. I'd rate as moderate - make sure to bring sunscreen and to wear hiking socks (to keep the sand out).

Amazing views. We did the loop passing by 4 lakes. 15km. Easy hike. Cristal bleue sky, no mugs thanks to the wind. The way to get there was actually also an adventure as we are not used to drive a 4x4 (a must for the last part of the dirt road). We took the Tamarack road following the advice bellow.

HARD TRAIL!! Nothing but switch backs the entire way but the views make it all worth it! You gain about 3,000 feet in elevation. But the higher you get the more the Yosemite Valley starts to reveal itself. It is such a beautiful hike, but be careful, some areas are slippery ( asphalt and sand/dirt combo).

Upper twin lake is a great backpacking spot.

Steep but well worth the amazing views all the way up! We arrived around 830 on a weekday in May and were still able to get parking at the trailhead.

Highly recommended not to hard of a hike if you start from the upper road, hidden parking on a dirt trail. Go all the way to the top very slipper rocks, but wear your swim suit at the top there’s 3 holes you can jump into about 6-8ft deep so much fun and so refreshing after hiking the trail. Hike on the trail on the left of the falls.

Fun hike. Like others have said it’s easy to lose the actual trail because of boulders, but as long as the creek is on your right, just keep going. Some bouldering if you want to keep the creek in sight. Didn’t go all the way back because of time and smoke from the Ferguson fire but still a good hike. Took a little dip in a larger pool and little fish swam around me. Lots of people at the beginning but less as we continued on. 8/3/18

Great day hike with amazing views of Half Dome and the Valley.

This might well be the most beautiful view I have ever seen. If you can walk up an incline, hike this trail before you die.

This is an amazing trail with epic views! Backpacked 3 days with my husband for our anniversary this week and loved every minute! I’d consider it hard for someone who isn’t in shape but even a novice hiker in decent shape can handle the trek. Worth camping a night or two if you can. Bring bug spray and a swim suit, lakes are all refreshingly cool. Warms days and cool nights made for perfect camp weather. The trek from Upper Twin Lake to George Lake is the toughest part but worth it. If camping at George overnight be sure to make the day trek to College and Campfire lakes for great fishing!

Awesome hike, even more awesome view from Dewey Point.

We went on a Sunday during peak season and barely saw anyone.

It was hot and sunny so even with 2L each we came back dry. I wish I'd have had the stamina to keep going on to Crocker and Stanford Points.

I don’t exercise at all so this trail slaughtered me but the views were amazing and the lake was stunning. Saw some horses on the way back to! It was definitely worth the suffering and the shin splints!

Great hike, not worth it to do it in one day. Try and get a wilderness pass.

We took Tamarack road in as the road from Dinkey Creek is closed. We were warned about abundant mosquitos but it wasn’t bad at all. There were some at Dinkey 1, but we stayed at Island lake and had no problems with mosquitos at all. We took 4 kids on their first backpacking trip and it was fantastic!

Probably the most beautiful, serene so far since moving here in Jan. 2018!! Absolutely NO REGRETS! So many beautiful blooms in the meadows, crystal clear water, just perfect! even the cows along the trail and the log bridge.

Good hike with nice views along the way up. It was a brutal hike with lots of switch backs that go on forever. In my opinion, if you have already been to glacier point and know the views you get up there, then i would personally skip this hike. We were at glacier point the day before for some sunset photos so when we hiked this the following day, it was obviously the same view at the end of the trail. Still awesome of course but didnt have that nice reward with doing all those switchback on the way up. I have a few photos posted in my IG from the trail and glacier point area as well if you would like a perspective for what you'll see.

Love itttt. A must.

Beautiful. Definitely a little bit difficult to stay on the trails, but there were plenty of places to stop and rest.

Beautiful trail with so many natural swimming holes and small waterfalls. The trail starts off well-defined but as we continued, we lost the trail multiple times. We had to clamber over massive granite slabs to try to pick up the trail again. Between using All Trails and keeping the water in sight, we always managed to find it again. But our hike ended up being 5.1 miles due to losing the trail multiple times. Wear appropriate footwear!! This is not a flip flop trail. Breathtaking views, lots of water, and no mosquitoes made for a great hike. 7/28/18

Beautiful Lakes at the end of a wonderful trail.
