This is a meet up spot for men. Not family friendly. Wish it was because it’s a very nice trail. We did it but were very uncomfortable when we returned to the parking lot. I googled around and confirmed what I thought was going on.

This is a deceptively large patch of woods. There are some great trails (on west side) and some rocky ones (south and down the middle). Groton Parks and Rec is looking to decommission some of the poor or unmarked trails to improve the park. Great place for a dog walk or several mile loop hike.

Bugs pretty heavy in swamp and its a swamp but dry right now.Bet its real pretty in the fall. Will come back.

A really good trail for families. I have a 14, 11, and 8 year old and they loved it. It is mostly flat and spends about 80% of the time in the woods. The other part is at the half way point at the beach/pavilion area. It was a very crowded beach day and I was the only person with a hiking bag. They have picnic tables at the beach area so we were able to have snacks/lunch there. We saw only one person in the wooded area but a TON of people at the beach area.

An easy loop trail with good views and an enjoyable hike.

It began as beautiful walk through the marsh and forest. Back and forth. Then...all woods. Lots of long grass. Bugs. All the bugs. The loop wasn’t clearly marked- thankfully we had all trails to help! Probably wouldn’t go again. Or maybe in the fall?

My wife and I hiked this trail after not hiking in over 20 years. It was nice with a great breeze off the pond. Friendly people enjoying trail with friend both of two leg and four leg types. Lots of roots and rocky areas so if you are new just take your time and look down a lot. Had great time.

Senic trail and good for hiking. Footing is difficult for running.

This hike had lots of different trails, things to see, easy directions, and parking.

The trail was marked very well, but it wasn’t very scenic.

Great, challenging hike with very steep climbs - about 5 ups and downs before the view. Avoid when rainy as the rocks can be slick. Worth the view though!

So many beautiful birds, it is marsh lands so be prepared for the wetness and bugs.

Great variety of ups and downs. Roots and rocks offer balance challenges. Great view from the overlook.

Parked next to the second opening. Overcast and humid day, buggy due to the slower moving/standing water. I'm 27 and did the hike with my 57 year old mom; we both enjoy the scenery and challenge.

Super challenging hike with nearly vertical climbs. A good workout. Like another reviewer I saw two large black snakes. This hike will be really nice in the fall!

Definitely challenging. You have to pay attention to the markers but they’re all blue. Muddy and sometimes you have to go through little streams and the rocks are wet. We had dogs and they had a tough time on the rocks. Might do it again now that we know what to expect. Wouldn’t recommend for someone who doesn’t want to spend a significant amount of time out. We had a member of our party who wanted to get back because it was challenging so we used the app to guide us back. I’d recommend pants due to some paths being overgrown and definitely a tick check at the end and some really good bug spray.

Nice. easy side of moderate. would have been a little bored but we took the gold trail for a rockier path and better views. the old pavilion was really neat and enjoyed climbing on the jette at the beach. a little humid and 79 degress.

Really nice view!

It’s easy and slowly get to be med-hard

Beautiful marsh and water views, great birding and nice mostly flat trails. The only downside is the volume of ticks, there are more here than anywhere else in the state we've hiked.

We did the blue to red trails with side track to a cave and quartz pit. Trail had pretty pond views and a couple of small brook crossings. I enjoyed it because it was pretty rocky with big flat rocks to walk on in places. Very well marked trails. No real breathtaking views but a nice short hike. Easy side of moderate.

This was a pretty sweet hike for RI. There’s a couple cool spots to chill for a bit. Saw a few turkey vultures and two large black snakes up in a tree, that was surprising haha.

This is one my favorite

amazing, challenging, and beautiful views of the pond

easy, pretty river walk. if the cars would slow down it would be 5 stars.

Loved it, love a of climbing and views to keep the kids entertained. A bit challenging at times especially if you haven't done a lot of hiking but not too bad.

My first trail of this nature in years and years. The southern part of the trail is pretty much undefined. You need to stop frequently and look for the blue-marked trees. More than a few downed trees blocking the ‘path.’ As other hikers, had to use my phone to get back on the path. Would do it again.

Gorgeous 5.1 mile lollipop style hike. Spacious dirt road mixed with narrow and rocky trails around the pond. Plenty of sunshine and trees. Water was sparkling. Weather was absolutely perfect today, 3/31/18. When all the leaves fill in it will be even more stunning.

I apparently have given all of my hikes 5 stars, but this one is the real 5-star hike! Was surprisingly challenging given how flat RI tends to be. Beautiful views of Long pond after scaling a massive boulder. Will definitely be back again!
