Not that hard of a hike with great scenery on the way up and a astonishing view at the top. Great for family’s though it will be hard for younger children.

I'd say this trail was moderate-hard, especially for a not-so-seasoned hiker. The trail was a little hard to find, but there were plenty of friendly people along the way to point me in the right direction - must get down to the dam, go left, across the little suspension bridge and then you start climbing up on the white marked trail. At one point the trail is literally climbing up rocks. Like everyone says, there's a couple of lookouts where you can see the Alexian across the way, but you have to keep going a decent ways before you get to Edwards. Overall really awesome hike of about 4.5 miles, and I wouldn't recommend wearing chacos; although it was nice to step in the water on the way back.

Awesome!!

Beautiful views. Peaceful place for the sunrise, quick rock scramble.

great hike and well marked. Views are amazing!

Went on a foggy day and didn't have the best view from the top, but the trail was excellent and clearly blazed. First 3/4 mile is steep but it levels off nicely from there with several great vistas along the way to the top. Road leading to the wolf gap recreational parking lot is fully paved and easily driven.

We went on a muggy day and still loved the trail. It was a challenge for the first mile and a half or so. Great workout. We are hoping to go back on a clearer day to get the full experience of the full 360 view!

Nice dog friendly trails

We had a ranger do a guided tour on this - very knowledgeable and well worth the stops - there is a self guided tour pamphlet at big meadow lodge - free stop and get it. 2nd highest peak in Shenandoah

I loved this hike! There’s a parking lot on the right side
Of the road by the CT sign. There’s a single wooden portapotty there also if you need. The trailhead is on the left. Go to Indian Rockhouse and end up at Snoopers. It’s a fantastic hike and that view never gets old! Best sunrise in Chatta❤️

It’s a pretty great hike! Not a lot of signs once you get passed rainbow lake. The view at Edwards point is amazing! A lot of people had dogs. I would suggest that they need to clean it up a little. There was trash in some parts. Rainbow lake is cool but the water was dirty looking. Overall I would go back. Be ready for a lot of brush in the trail.

Not bad for my first hike in Virginia. The trail is easy to find. Locals jog in the morning or take the dogs to play into the water. If you like going into the “woods” for a while and forget about the city without going too far away, this is a good one. Simple, easy to walk it. If you follow the Google maps line, you can easily find the entrance to the trail and follow it.

This has to be one of the best value hikes in Shenandoah. The level of effort vs rewarding views is awesome! My 12yo son and I made this out first hike in Shenandoah and it was a perfect way to break-in to hiking. The trail was lightly trekked unlike Hawksbill or other popular trails that can get crowded. There is a fun little rock scramble and a false peak that is the perfect place to take in the views and a snack. It only took 30-45 minutes to summit at a relaxed pace and stops to take in different scenic or fun spots along the way. We did it on a hot and humid July day so I look forward to doing it in better weather in the fall.

Beautiful trail, with lots of scenery. Most of the trail was in the shade when we did it in the morning with the exception of the summit.

Breath taking views and a beautiful family adventure!

Beautiful views and creeks along the way (I went just after heavy rain). Some tough uphill grades.

Great Hike

on Bull Run Trail

Great trail normally. Tried to hike it yesterday from Bull Run Park. The boardwalk when you initially start the trail was heavily damaged. You can get around the damaged sections without too much difficultly. The stream crossing beside route 28 was impassable.

This hike is amazing! It’s a tough hike but my sister and I did it in three hours. Make sure you bring water and supplies. This isn’t easy and is long .

If parking is full, head back east on Route 7 to the big Snickers Gap parking area at Route 601. Take the trail towards Bears Den, but turn north at the intersection with the AT and follow the white blazes to (carefully!) cross the highway and continue to Raven Rocks.

Trail start was confusing and blazes could be better marked. View was gorgeous. First rock outcropping is not the final stop. Keep going and you will see the beauty of the Tennessee River, wilderness and even saw a pair of eagles.

Fairly easy. Some grade at times and a few rocks under foot. Did it with a 7 and 6 year old. Beautiful view.

What a workout!! Rocky uphill climb. The view at the summit was beautiful. Well worth the sweat! Downhill on the way out is a relief, but rocky. Traffic was a bit high today..lots of people on the trail and at the summit. Be careful to follow the correct posts markings, one couple we ran into had walked down the wrong trail and had to climb back up to get back on the trail back. We all burned some serious calories today!! So much fun! FYI They charge $30 to enter national park by vehicle.

A easy trail for walking

Great stop while riding along Skyline Drive. Limited views when the clouds are low but still fun.

This humbled me! Totally worth it though. Rose River Falls was the hardest in my opinion. Definitely take advantage of the oppurtunity to rest at the bottom of Dark Hollow.

The road leading up to the trail was extremely dangerous to go up ,and I would not recommend taking a car that won't withstand off roading. There are many sharp turns in the weathered gravel road.
