Love this lake. Such an amazing hike and scenery. Definitely a bit harder for my kids but still doable for them - ages 7 to 12. Less people here than Silver Lake too so that’s worth the extra hour hike too.

Absolutely beautiful. Great hike. Incredible lake and mountain views. Not too hard. 6 year old did it with his own pack. Try to take family backpacking and camping up here at least once a year.

Nice view but really tracked out and muddy

Loved this trail it was so beautiful ♥️♥️

First time in SLC and took this trail. Quick hike and breathtaking views of the valley. Highly recommend it.

The views are as good as it gets! We hiked on Labor Day, so lots of hikers and dogs. Not terribly strenuous and only took a few hours. The water at the lake above was cold and refreshing to swim in. I’ll definitely hike again with my dog.

This has become a regular hike. enjoy the view and quick access. also always friendly people on the trail.

This one is a fun and everyday type hike. Beautiful views of downtown and the two mountain ranges. Also, at the peak there is great history of the landscape of the valley and how the city was developed overtime.

I love this trail

Definitely bring your dog on ODD numbered days so you don’t have to keep them out of the way of mountain bikers. There are a lot of bikers, runners, and hikers on this rail. Definitely recommend going in the morning (ie. avoid the heat and crowd). Per usual, there’s noticeably more cars/bikes/people as it gets towards 9am+. Pay $3 to a person in a booth on the way out (back toward I-215).

There are two parts to this hike. The first 0.7 miles is Rattlesnake Gulch- shaded and uphill. It’s a workout.

Take a left at the sign. The second part is 1.0 mile on Pipeline Trail with a nice view of the canyon and then the city/valley. Path is narrower and more windy (as in blowing air, not as in curvy), shade harder to come by. (You’ll see a Wasatch National Forest sign at about 1.4 miles total. Go another 0.3 to see a big metal tube thing and a place to sit and enjoy the view for a bit.)

Going up took us 45 minutes with short breaks going uphill. Going down took us 35 minutes with a bunch of stops to move aside for bikers.

Awesome hike to a 360 degree view!

is nice place

It took me 20 minutes at a moderate pace to go up and a little more than 20 minutes down. It's a bit rocky in some places, so if you're not confident on your footing, it feels slippery. It seems to always be crowded at the top.

Went on this trail last Friday and really enjoyed it!!! the lake was beautiful at the end of the hike and was perfect to relax at before heading down. the view was amazing and hoping to get back at it soon.

I like the trail, a little challenging but not too bad. The view is awesome, way better than I expected. Someone build a seat and a small table with rocks

The end was worth the hike! Not so scenic on the way but the top is worth it. Interesting surprise :)

Challenging, short hike with nice views of SLC.

Okay, I’m from Missouri and this hike was quite the challenge for someone not from Utah. The views were breathtaking, the lake was serene and totally worth it & refreshing. Going up is a challenge as it’s rocky as you get closer to the top, and it requires a lot of leg strength. We took numerous breaks but eventually made it. It took us an hour and thirteen minutes to get down but about 2 hours to get up. The road up to the trailhead was a bit scary as you’re right along the edge but just take it slow.
Overall:
Trail difficulty: strenuous
Road up to trail: rocky&bumpy&steep

Beauty in its purest form.

Better than I even expected! The leaves are starting to change.

Not too bad but definitely had to take 2 or 3 short breaks on my way up. The "living room" set up is adorable. Enjoyed the hike. Getting down was so much easier.

Pretty views of the canyon. Decent amount of other people on the trail on a Saturday morning. Walked about 3 miles up and ran the way out. Good trail if you want something nice and easy to get used to trail running on.

Great for trail running! Mostly shaded by trees and a clear, defined trail. Keep running past big rock towards Rudy’s flat it’s beautiful.

Nice easy little hike with some good views of the Salt Lake Valley

It was pretty easy and had a beautiful view of Dt and the capital building

Lots of mountain bikers - need to come back to bike it. Lots of rocks, but good for balance! Great uphill hike. Beautiful views! Did in 50 minutes.

Easy to moderate hike. It took me 45 minutes to hike it to the end of the trail. Yes, there is some loose gravel but nothing too crazy. The views are great. This is a great hike if you are visiting the city and have a few spare hours.

Quick hike but very hot so better to do either early morning or in the evening. The trails are a little misleading with a number of intersections.

Such a good hike to a beautiful, well worth view. Our pup enjoyed the walk and being able to freshen up in the streams along the way.

I am a beginner hiker in okay shape and this was a toughie! For me this was on the harder side of moderate. It basically inclines steadily for 2 miles, then gradually for a mile, then sharply for .4 miles. First mile-ish is in the shade, then it's pretty much no shade until the top! Sunscreen is a must and I regret starting this trail at 10:30am. It took me 2.5 hours to get to the top, and much of this trail ended up being in over 80 degree weather and lots of sun. Bring plenty of water. A neat 360 degree view at the top. I won't do this again until I'm in better shape!
