Lots of hikers and runners on Saturday morning but that is to be expected. Beautiful tall trees. Trail is a bit narrow in places and the elevation changes make it seem longer than expected.

on Mossy Ridge Trail

Lots of traffic but still a nice challenge.

This is one of my very favorite hikes near Nashville! There are a LOT of ticks there right now though. Put on some repellant and make sure your dogs are on tick meds before you go!

So great! This whole state park was amazing. My dogs and I really enjoyed hiking around and taking time to cool off in the river. Wear or bring your water shoes!

Loved this loop and this whole state park today!! I went with my two dogs and we had a blast exploring the park, the river, and all of the waterfalls. The loop gives options for how hard you want the hike to be. You can scoot your way up and down the hillside to get in the water, or you can walk around on more of the flat terrain. Absolutely want to go again!

very nice trails with many side trails along the water. beautiful water falls. the backbone ridge trail was more challenging terrain and provided some interesting views.

This trail is perfect during the spring for wildflower spotting. It is short, but it does have an incline.

Had no map but iPhone recorded our hike at 5.78 miles, but we had the impression we might have doubled up one segment. Or maybe the extra was from the parking lot at Deep Hole Trailhead. Great hike. Lots of up and down ... some at the extreme for walking. Highly recommended.

Many Beautiful waterfalls, trails for all skill levels

This was a really nice morning hike in June. The weather was great this day- about 77 degrees and sunny. Although I was hiking in the woods (lots of shade now) and the temperature was lower. There was a slight breeze too.
The trail is well beaten- smooth (some rocks but mostly clay) from lots of hikers and trail runners. This was a moderate trail with lots of ups and downs- one grade had to be 40 degrees up. The condition of the trail was dry today and I can’t say how slippery it would be if raining and wet.
All in all I would definitely recommend this trail. However not for the faint in heart. I would do it again when in town. Thanks to all the trail maintainers.

Awesome primitive trail and very well marked.

Waterfall was very pretty! It was a little confusing to find the trail head but after we did... it was a nice hike with lots of great things to see! I really liked this hiking trail. Trail continues after you reach Bridal Veil Falls but we didn't have time to explore any further, which gives me a reason to come back.

A beautiful hike with challenging trails

Ran yesterday, new to the area. An awesome trail with lots of elevation change for anyone wanting to train. 10/10 would recommend

Good spot, came on a rainy day. Good facilities with bathroom at the nature center. You get good elevation in some spots. It's good woods running, but few outlook points. Will absolutely be coming back for more training!

Perfect long hike outside of town. Next time I will bring lunch and eat at a picnic table at the second trail head/parking lot. Was there on a Saturday and plenty of parking/not crowded. FYI The only toilet I found there was located at the first trailhead when you come off that main road .

the loop was the best part, probably wouldn't do the Ridgeline trail portion again as it was pretty flat and boring towards the end.

Beautiful trail, lots to explore!

I was in town at a weekend conference so this was a nice little find right outside of Nashville. I honestly didn't expect much, but it was a nice challenge, especially to just randomly up and do on our midday intermission. It's definitely worth the moderate rating as some of the guys in our crew didn't quite make it to dinner that night after being worn out from the elevation changes on this trail. I'd suggest being in somewhat decent shape before attempting and probably wouldn't recommend it for elderly people hoping for a flat hike.

The trails and waterfalls were awesome! I didn’t give five starts because we had to ask where the trail head began. The app GPS took us to a parking lot which is great. We walked maybe a couple blocks to the trail head. Once we got there everything was good. Trails are marked well. Challenging for someone not used to it.

Nice day hike.

Great to go early morning on the weekend - lovely trail with lots of ups and downs. Well maintained and great for hiking or trail running.

This waterfall is beautiful after a good rain, during a drought it’s just a trickle. This trail has some beautiful wildflowers as well.

beautiful trail. I started ar the museum, took photos at the blue hole falls, took more at the big falls, decided to try the back bone trail because it was the least popular. there's roots, rocks, drop offs, duck pond, one kind of steep incline. it's not a long trail so, I decided to explore the old fort trail. what a surprise... more waterfalls. these were called abandoned waterfall. I scrambled down the rocks and took more pictures. they are not looking hikes but the scenery is fantastic and if you go to backbone you'll be alone as if you are in the back country. you need great trail shoes for backbone and hug some trees to get around. it was marked by red state park emblems on the trees.

Great hike and gorgeous views! Perfect for our family and very dog friendly

Very nice trail for checking out waterfalls and wild flowers. Not too strenuous, and several side trails for exploring.

Short out and back walk. I parked at the dog park and added a little more to the hike. Can be a little slippery after a rain.

Will do it again. Enjoyed the ability to choose multiple trails of varying lengths. Trails very well maintained.

This was a very easy trail, but there were a lot of tree roots to be aware of. I was able to easily carry my 3 month old in a sling. We did not start at the official trailhead, we picked up the trail in the campground, but it was still very well marked the whole way and from where we started, it took us about an hour and a half. We will defiantly be doing this trail again.

Good hike in big city. Lots of traffic. Fun times. Recommend to all hikers. Good trail run also.
