We saw Adam's Rainier St. Helen's to the north. Mt Hood up close and Jefferson to the south. Did it as a loop with a 5 and 6 year old they loved it.

Such a fun hike with a stunning payoff! We arrived at 7:30 AM and were the only ones at the falls for almost an hr, so arrive early to beat the crowds. On the right side near the falls is a rocky trail. Follow it and then carefully ramble your way over the rocks to get to the back of the falls for a tremendous view!

Best hike on the mountain!

Fun little hike. Pretty. First lake was crowded but the second lake was much more mellow. Few people but it was nice. Plus you can see the mountain in the distance.

Great for families. Beautiful falls.

Flat. Good "warm up" trail with neat mossy tree views and river. Runs along river and the road but only heard 3 cars whole time near far end of trail. Couple spots to dip toes in river and possibly swim, take water shoes. Need a parking pass, get one at the Zig Zag info station .25 mi west of Salmon River Rd.

beautiful waterfall

This was my favorite hike in Oregon! The trail follows the river which kept the air temperature pleasantly cool and provides nice background noise. The falls are beautiful and you can even go behind the waterfall! Do this hike!!!!

This hike was beautiful throughout and the falls were better than I could have expected! A quick nice day hike for those short on time. The drive there had great views of Mount Hood, and the drive back to Portland is a great opportunity to stop at the gorge. Make sure to stop ahead of time (like in Zigzag) to get a $5 forest day pass.

Updated the play area.
Great spot.
Clean bathrooms.

There's no words to describe this beauty!
To see so clearly three mountains (off trail #493 High Prairie)
Meadows of wild flowers, gorgeous creepy trees, to the clear openings with big rocks, view of HWY 35 & super simple.
Markers are lined just remember to keep your head in the trees to not miss

We started at the big parking lot and headed towards the lower lake. Beautiful lake hike super easy. No bugs at all. Returned on the Butte trail to Frog Lake campground then back to the car. 8 miles

Very quiet hike, the only person I saw was staying in the look out tower.

Beautiful lakes, great trail, perfect for dogs.

A fun trail with a beautiful waterfall at the end.

Cool little hike that has some pretty cool stuff along the way. You get some cool views of cliffs, nice little pools and rapids along the creek, some minor rock climbing and a waterfall. There are also 2 cool bridges. I really enjoyed this trail. I saw many people of all ages with dogs and children, so it’s good for everyone. Definitely check it out.

Was a bit Confusing but we will definitely be going Because there are many things to do around that area. We will be going back tomorrow to explore all the other areas we didn't get to explore today.

Great workout! The waterfall at the end is amazing. If you climb over the rocks, you can go behind the waterfall. Like someone else has stated, trail is 4 miles round trip, signs at the trailhead say 2 miles to waterfall.

This is a super easy, short hike! The waterfall is gorgeous.

Be sure to have the correct parking pass!

Easy hike, great view.

Great hike to do with kids! The rocks at the end are a little tricky, but the view from the waterfall is incredible.

great hike, still a bit of snow on the trail, but should be gone within next couple of days (weather is hot right now!) fabulous views. the only downside, trail is short, would have been nice if it was a bit longer. but if you're looking for a nice stroll and vistas. this is a good hike!

Nice area with amazing old-growth (mostly Red Cedar and some Doug) trees. But, this is rated as kid-friendly... this is not appropriate for little kids. I'd say younger than 9-10 year-olds would have a difficult time here. Many points on the trail are so narrow even sure-footed pros might slip and slide.

Great Trail and definitely worth making it to the end! Much easier coming back than going in but a lovely day hike with family.

great hike. its 4 miles round trip though not 3.3 fyi! not hard though!

Good easy hike to the lower lake. Great view of Mt. Hood if you hike to Frog Lake Butte about 2 miles from the lower lake.

Great Trail and definitely worth making it to the end! Much easier coming back than going in but a lovely day hike with family.

Hiked this waterfall today it was one of the hottest days of the summer so far it was a nice waterfall with a nice spray some nice cool spots along the trail. I would do this one again.

We made it he hike fairly easily. The falls are worth every step. Once there you must go behind your he fall and experience this with a nice lunch.

The roughest part about this trail is the bumpy road getting to it. The trail is wide and easy to traverse. The little meadows are nice, with lots of flowers and bugs(depending on the season). The view is stunning, arguably better than Flag Point. You can get to Fret Creek and even Flag Point if you take the Divide trail this trail connects to. Definitely check this out sometime.
