Beautiful hike. A little challenging but definitely worth it!

Did this trail in March 2018 and it’s a great day hike. The first 2/3 of the Trail ascends up Blood Mountain gradually with a pretty good push to the summit, then descends steeply over the finally mile and a half. The trail itself isn’t as established which gives it a very rustic adventurous feel as you hike the Blood Mountain ridge line. The second half of the hike loops back on the AT giving you a chance to run into AT through hikers. Not too difficult would definitely recommend.

This trail is perfect for a first hike, or to warm up for longer hikes. I did this trail while it was raining pretty heavily, and it was still very enjoyable. The hike is fairly easy throughout, but there are some spots can be treacherous, especially if you want to get closer to some of the waterfalls along the way to the end. The final waterfall at the end is truly amazing and much bigger than pictures make it seem. I hiked with a group that ranged from first-timers to seasoned veterans and everyone enjoyed the trail.

Took the kids and dogs last weekend. Great trail. Will definitely be going back.

Always a nice hike. Beautiful falls very easy to visit.

Beautiful easy hike, even with a bad ankle. Get there early as it tends to get a bit crowded with people & dogs. Trail runs along the stream, more than 1 pretty waterfall. Will definitely be back! No cell phone coverage, which kind of makes it even better!

Great, easy to follow trail. Water falls in multiple spots and lots of beautiful views and plants. The last leg to get to the waterfall between the cliffs is a little shaky but worth it!
Beware though, this trails gets BUSY, due to how gradual the climb and rewarding the end.

My dog, Rezin, and I hiked the loop today, and I couldn’t be happier with how awesome it was. Weather was a little cloudy so it gave some nice shade. Great water access for majority of the hike. I didn’t need to get out my dog bowl, he was sipping from small creeks and puddles pretty much every time we took a break. The view from the peak of blood Mountain is out of this world! Decent amount of people on the trail, but all friendly and majority had dogs but they were friendly as well. Great place to also camp, so I plan on doing that next time! Overall, it was an absolutely beautiful and stunning hike!

Pleasant afternoon hike for Wife and I to Preachers Rock (approx 1 Mile to rock). Great views along they way, particularly from top of rock. Will do this one again! Moderate to Easy.

easy hiking. great scenery. i can imagine this trail getting congested so maybe best to plan around peek times

This is the trail from the Band of Brothers miniseries. Check out the museum at the old train depot while you’re in town

Awesome, fun trail with gorgeous scenery!! The creek going along the trail makes for some really peaceful hiking. Definitely a must!!

Was a great short hike for the family. Youngest being seven years old. Nice trail, great views and not crowded on a weekday in February.

Absolutely gorgeous hike! The river runs along side of you the entire hike, and there are a lot of pretty waterfalls to see!

Such a beautiful view at Preachers Rock! When you first come up to the trail you can go left of right... no idea where left goes, but right goes up to Preachers Rock so if that’s where you’re trying to go, take the trail to the right!

Watch out for ice and mud, but the trail is in good shape.

Great short hike with a fast elevation gain. Plenty of exposed rock and wandering paths near the top. Nice views for such a quick hike.

When I seen the name I had to go .. My mothers maiden name was Helton and my hobby is ancestry so this was a must for me And so well worth it .

Beautiful trail and not too busy during winter @between2treez on insta

This is a great trail and easier hike, however I don’t know why this app has it listed as moderate as this is the extremely easy trail.

How did we end up on this trail? Well, Chores came first and then we were in need of long hike after that we could get in before the sun went down, plus the name of the trail sounded great. :) Once we had the gps directions we knew we had been there before, or at least we thought we had until the GPS took us on the road past it. FYI follow the brown road sign clearly marked for this trail and not the GPS. The trail head is a different story, it is not marked. Trust the check in point & if you have a mountain bike enjoy the ride & if your hiking enjoy that too. We travelled clockwise and once we got to the water the trail was quite beautiful. The giant Hemlocks were impressively tall. Just a little after half way as we came out to the dirt road, I realized that we had been on part of that trail before enjoying the refreshing waterfall. Today was definitely not the day for that, so we continued up the dirt road and reentered the trail where it is actually marked.. :) and enjoyed the rest of our switchbacks and uphill climb. Not sure if this is a busy trail once it becomes warm, but today we had the entire trail to ourselves.

Easy/short hike. Beautiful falls!!! If you keep driving on Helton Creek Rd toward Richard Russell, you will have to ford both Helton Creek and Hatchet Creek (so make sure your vehicle can make it).

Absolutely stunning views at Preachers Rock

Great hike some ice on the trail but you could bypass most icy patches. This hike was recommended by a few websites as a top winter hike in north GA. They were right beautiful Mountain View’s all the way. Be sure to climb the rocks by the shelter at the summit that’s where the best views are.. as far as difficulty I would say moderate to hard but defiantly I saw dogs and children that made it to the summit with no problems.

Enjoyed hiking in reverse this time up to the top of Curahee Mountain for we had previously hiked down this trail after driving to the top several years ago. Today we had some fun scrambling over quite a few downed trees that were over the trail. We enjoyed many beautiful views from several rock out croppings both at the top & along the way. Even though there is alot of grafitti on the rocks, we still love the view & the only markings we appreciated were the pink arrows marking the trail. Nice day to gain some 700+ feet of elevation in less than 1 mile, while out enjoy a sunny winter day.

My girlfriend, our dog Atlas, and I hiked this short trail, with ice everywhere and it was very enjoyable. The views were beautiful. I highly suggest seeing the Helton Creek Falls!
