Absolutely breathtaking! A short scramble, but worth it!

Great challenging hike, relentless 1.6. Loved it!! Great reward at the summit!!

One of my favorite places to hike. beautiful and quiet with lots of wildlife.

After a little bit of difficulty finding the trailhead (the initial entrance on the "unnamed road") can be easy to miss, my aunt and I thoroughly enjoyed this area. We didn't hike much of the trail, but did walk in and enjoy the falls near the trail head and also explored the falls that are on the left hand side of the bridge before turning off the trail. The part that we did hike, had a lot of roots and was a little soft and slick in places, so you needed to pay close attention to footing. But I think you can hike as little or as much of the trail as you want and you'll enjoy it. On the humid day we went, a number of people were swimming and the stream and woods kept things cool.

Have gone at two different times, warm summer and spring melt off. you have to scramble a small bit through the rivers so prepared to get wet at some point. The first time was epic. The spring melt off made it impossible to reach falls safely. Little bit of rock scrambling at some points. Dog had no problem first time but she is large and is able to manuver very well on many surfaces. Small dogs may have trouble. Slick rocks from moisture, just letting ya know. Definately worth the trip just don't go right after heavy rains/early spring.... my 2 cents.

I hiked this trail with my 3 year old and my 2 year old was in a carrier. My 3 year old loved it! This was his first hike and he did so well. Trail was fairly easy to walk on, the last .9 miles is a gradual incline to the top.

Nice hike that is definitely moderate. At one point, you can choose to follow the Creek or take the high ground. If you have a dog w you, take the high ground. The falls are beautiful at the top but there not much scenery along the way.

I am overweight and just starting to hike again. The hike to Screw Auger Falls was perfect for me as it was challenging but not overwhelming. As I get in better shape I look forward to doing some of the longer hikes in this beautiful area of Maine.

Great walk, beautiful views, the trail links up to the Appalachian trail.

nice trails and liked that they had a map with all the different trails that you can take

Good trail. Well marked. Lovely views of the falls. Although rated hard, I didn’t find this trail to be too tough. I was able to complete it in 5ish hours. I also saw a moose on KI Works road on the way to the parking area.

Easy hike, nice views near top. I would call latter part a bit more moderate effort though.

Very peaceful. Hiked over 6 miles by starting at the Head of Tide Park. Most of the trail was well marked but there were a few places that the trail was hard to follow. Bugs were minimal here

Grading this hike is kind of difficult. I wouldn't consider this hike as moderate. While hiking 1.5 miles to the top doesn't sound like much, the average slope of over 20 percent is intense.

I do agree that the view from the observation deck is pretty special. Note that there are no views until you get almost to the top.

I hiked yesterday in extreme heat. Bring more water than you think you will need.

I gave this hike 3 stars because it was a one and done for me.

going every year

Beautiful hike with tons to see! Trail in some areas are difficult to follow so highly recommend a map, but hands down would do this over and over again! Don’t forget to bring a pair of water shoes!

beautiful trail! Have done it 2x now and the view will not disappoint!

Loved every second of this hike! Breathtaking views! I highly recommend visiting!

been hiking here for 8 years now and it still never gets old. Absolutely love this trail.

Nice hike but I wish more was above the tree line. Lots of ups and downs in the beginning and after the pond. Glad we didn’t bring our lab. Would have been too hard for her after the pond.

Love this trail, easy enough for kids, fun, quick to complete.

A very short and easy hike, with a 60 ft. fire tower at the top with a great view. It took about 1 hour to do the loop.
