To hike.... Map

What a great hike! My son and I climbed into the lower falls to enjoy the water. We weren't alone!!

We've been here a couple of times. It's always gorgeous!!

We've done this a few times and love it each visit.

My 8 year old son and I LOVED this hike!

Beautiful and peaceful trail..

the puppy and I love roaming around Mt. Apatite, blue trail, red trail, we can walk them for hours. the new bike trail is beautiful too

Went for a hike 12/26/2018. Very little snow, but a lot of places with ice on the path. Not much of a view anywhere along the blue trail. Still fun to hike in the woods.

walked blue and red trails a week ago. beautiful quarry areas. trail signs are good in some spots and not well marked in others so you have to pay attention. all in all it was a nice stroll on a beautiful winter day.

really great for a fun, easy winter hike or snowshoe. parked at the fishery as I didn't want to take my car down the snow covered road with no area to turn around in for fear of getting stuck. Probably added a mile by walking to the trailhead. The trail head is difficult to find so keep that in mind, it is next to a large sign on the left side of the road. Really fun after a fresh snow, the top loop feels like Narnia.

Beautiful trail in the snow! The falls were amazing with ice forming all around them. I recommend yak traks though, I was wearing my winter boots and found it slippery on the wooden walk way.

very nice

great time with your family easy hiking great trails

great trail. there is a cave tunnel on the ledge facing craigs pond on the ledge if your on top of the summit and you look down towards the trail you come up on it is the ledge next to it on the left there is a wooden bence and it is in front of it slightly to the left look for the crack in the ledge you can shimmy down into it and walk threw a tunnel about 20 feet and come out the other side of the tunnel

Not very well upkeep to the trail on the wooded side. Being from out of state it was a beautiful but spent most of my time looking at the ground.

An excellent place to walk, run, and bike; cross country skiing in the winter. The trails are well-maintained. There are several benches and picnic tables along various trails, warming huts for wintertime. Woods, open field, some single-track, lots of hills, riverside trails and a boat landing. There's plenty to explore. Kid and dog friendly.

Great trail selection! Perfect year round.

Excellent trail. Moderate to easy. The view from the fire tower was worth the climb up.

The only annoying part was the long dirt road to get to the trail head ! I was the only one hiking, and it was very peaceful. Although I started it later than most would recommend (4:15pm) in mid October I was back down at the car by 5:30pm. However, I did run most of the way down because I wanted to catch the sunset on my drive by Mount Blue State Park on the way out. Great hike overall. Stunning views at the top and very windy.

easy and breezy

Rocky with beautiful views!

I have always loved these local trails! Beautiful, well maintained and peaceful.

Worth the trip! Many water crossings that take thought and would be troublesome/impossible in spring, some tricky parts with large rocks. Gorgeous waterfall!

Great for kids and leashed dogs. Lots of great things to see along the way to the amazing falls!

Not that difficult, with a great view. Just hang left when you’re starting out, it’s a quicker route to the top and the hike downhill after the summit is easier on the legs.

Just under a mile to reach this 90-foot waterfall with lots of other smaller rapids along the way. The footpath is wide, well maintained, and overall it's easy elevation.

Beautiful views along the stream. Lots of roots which can be a little slippery when wet. Very nice hike.

I would rate it easy-moderate. Like someone else said it is a mountain. But we love this trail. The views at the top are fantastic. My wife had open heart surgery 2 years ago. We are here for the season so we started our hiking by training on this trail. 4 months later I think she can hike just about anything.
