We parked at the Smoke and Davey Trailhead and took the Neale Trail. So great. Somewhat challenging, very cobwebby at 8 am but found a good stick to help with that. Very well maintained and pretty views everywhere. When the trail crossed the cement path that ran down the center of the trail system we occasionally saw another person but aside from that no other people once we were in the woods. Great views of the lake.

Nice well maintained trail. Intertwined with disc golf 18 hole course

I hiked the easier trail. Well defined but sometimes not well marked. Challenging near the bluffs and easy on the north side. Almost stepped on some adolescent raccoons! Don't take valuables - car break ins are common. My car also bottomed out in the unpaved parking area.

Short but ok hike

Took the family out today for a ride. Perfect for all skill levels with enough challenge to make it a lot of fun for riding bikes regardless of experience. And close to home.

on Devil's Kitchen Trail

We actually hiked portions of Devil’s Kitchen, Colosseum, Castle and Spring trails. The Ranger tied them all together in a loop (see photo) with one short distance reversal, totally around 4 mi and we did it in less than 2 hours with photos and a few breath-catching stops during/after the 300+ stairs. It was a great way to see the various features of the park, but overall, I think we liked the Devil’s Kitchen portion slightly better because it was denser and very little traffic. Very nice hiking, possibly 5 stars for our home state of MO but we reserve our 5 star ratings for awesome national parks. :)

Awesome trail with great exploration

Wish the trail was marked a little better; but it was very beautiful and peaceful.

As other reviews state, the map is for Spring Brook Trail, which is a mostly forested trail that crosses a creek and is rated moderate. Some extremely large oaks and sycamore trees can be found along this trail. It’s a 2.3 mile loop trail.

The Devil’s Icebox Trail is an easy half mile boardwalk trail that briefly runs next to the Spring Brook Trail and leads to a 63-foot-high Natural Bridge and Connor’s Cave. Connor’s Cave, of which you can explore the first 166 feet, is listed as a separate trail on this app but it uses the same boardwalk system as the one leading to the natural bridge.

Beautiful trail. Not well marked so use this map reference to guide you. I got a little off track for a bit and it ended up being a 7 mile hike!

Nice fun trail full of flow but badly marked to find your way around or out.

Brother and I have done ~4 and 5-mile stretches of this trail a few times. It's a nice, well-maintained trail, though the signage is less than helpful in some places. Small variety of features to see. We saw a nice mushroom in a more lush part of the trail and cacti with wildflowers in a rockier part of the trail. (Photos uploaded.) Want to spend more time with it and log more miles on it.

The waterfall pictured in this listing is on the Old Kate Trail (at the same location), _not_ the Whitetail Trail.

Really fun and pretty! Nice short and well maintained. Great Sunday morning hike if you’re looking for something quick just outside the city. We saw a woodpecker at the top of a clearing. Way cool!

This map is actually for the Spring Brook Trail, but it hooks up with the Devil’s Icebox trail also. Trail was beautiful. Mostly shade and pretty easily navigated. I am glad I had the app because sometimes I would end up on another trail without realizing it. There is one place you have to cross the river, which could be difficult if water is high. But beautiful hike. I will be back.

Will be coming back! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!

Well-established trail, novice trail user appropriate. Water, shade, free parking all available at the trailhead. Perfect for a break from the urban/suburban environment without a looking drive.

Not a bad trail, pretty uneventful, but definitely worth spending the time to walk it.

Trail is very confusing to navigate as other users have stated. It is nice going through such a heavily wooded area though.

so to start this hike is not 2.5 miles devils icebox trail is .50 miles. Very cool spot the natural bridge is awesome and the caves are amazing as well. This hike is all wooden stairs though no dirt trail. If you want to explore connors cave i suggest bringing a good light so you can see. Cave goes back 166ft.

Beautiful park, completely worth the drive. Between the caves, big mossy bluffs and flowing creeks..this park has it all. You can take the staircase trails or the nature trails and you won’t be disappointed. 10/10 would recommend.

Hiked it a second time today. Nice trails in the park. Just wished they had backpack or other camping options.

awesome trails...... alot to choose from ......bathrooms on site....... you could easily get in 15 miles of hiking in a day here...... handicap accessible also.......

I truly enjoyed my hike there!!
