Tough hike but worth the effort.

At the top, Obsidian Falls is worth the grueling hike. Good entry to 3 Sisters Wilderness for backpacking

This is a difficult but fun trek up to a beautiful summit. The last bit is a challenge but the 360 degree view is incredible and well worth it. We saw a lot of wild flowers, berries and fungi along the way and made several photo stops as the view is spectacular at several points along the way. Bring water and sunblock, there’s a good portion out from under the trees.

Beautiful views! Very busy trail and lots of tree roots to walk over. Inclines were not bad at all. Get there early because the parking gets full.

Was great for swimming and hiking, I did it with 3 kids 14, 8, 6, water was beautiful and clear. Got there early and the parking lot was half full after we got back it was jam packed. Overall it was a really great hike.

Steady uphill hike with a beautiful view from the top.

Prepare to get wet! Fantastic hike along and in a creek. Beautiful scenery as you hike through a canyon, climb over a huge log jam and wade through the water to reach a cascading waterfall at the end of your hike. Highly recommend!

Great hike! GO EARLY if you want peace, quiet, and tranquility. We encountered a lot of large loud groups on our way out late morning. Trail is moderately easy but do recommend good shoes as it is long. Forest is stunning and the water crystal clear!

I took this hike on August 17, 2018. The beginning temperature was 59° and sunny. When I completed the hike the temperature was 67° and sunny. I completed the hike as a loop ( which included the Iron Mountain Look Out, Cone Hill Trail and Tombstone Pass Trail ). As an added bonus on this hike, I was the only person on the 7.4 mile loop. Elevation gain was 1870 feet ( I went clockwise instead of counter clockwise ). The views were awesome. There was a slight haze from the fires down south, but every once in a while I could see the glaciers in the distance. The wildflowers were coming close to the end of their season, but there were still many varieties in bloom. I recommend this hike to anyone wanting to experience the best that Oregon has to offer! I had a great time!

Beautiful! Not very muddy, and what mud was there was firm. Recommend getting here early though, parking filled up fast! Only 3 other cars in the lot when we arrived at 9am, completely full when we left at around 12:30. Bathrooms are past the trailhead, across the street.

Love it and the view is amazing! I made the mistake of going without having eaten (hypoglycemic) and got lightheaded and a bit sick with the elevation increase. It's not an easy trail but it is not at all impossible. Beautiful!

Good quick easy hike.

Great trail to the lake. You'll have to climb over a few logs and go off trail a bit if you want to get to the river mouth but if you're comfortable with that it's well worth it.

There are a few spots to backpack camp but they are pretty close to the trail which seems to be pretty busy, so I'm not sure I would recommend it if you're looking for privacy.

Absolutely beautiful! This hike was so fun! Even though it was super Smokey and I couldn’t see very far it didn’t matter. I love every part of this hike. Finding the cave was like finding and oasis in the desert..., a much appreciated cool reprieve from the heat. Beautiful views of Mt Jefferson. Perfect length and difficulty level. Just watch your feet on the rocks and roots during the first half or so. Easy drive to the trail. Some gravel road but doable in any car.

steep but great views at the top. well marked trail.

awesome, grin a bare the last 2miles. But it's worth it!
Take food and water for lunch at the top

Definitely a workout on the legs and knees, but worth it. Always come prepared! It can be quite chilly and windy at the top. We took a little side trail loop on the way down - it was a nice change in scenery and much warmer.

Completed this hike yesterday and was very impressed. We did the full loop through PP and GPS'd about 14.2 miles. Bugs were manageable. Sun exposure for the first 3 ish miles out of Zig Zag something to be mindful of, especially on a hot day. Sandy trail in areas so wear your boots! And conserve energy for the climb back out to Timberline. I ID'd approximately 15 flowers/shrubs along the way. Great time!

Easy hike with plenty to see and hear. Loved walking through the forest and hearing the ocean waves. Great panoramic views from the highest point, and make sure to head to the end of the Cape Falcon trail to view the secluded black sand beach. We got to the trail head at about 8:45 and only started encountering other hikers on the way back, so go early for more quiet time, as this is a popular route with families. My favorite hike on the coast!

I was here on a Saturday, plenty of parking at 9a but lot was filling up when I left. Trail was well kept. I took the path to the top and at the peak it wasn't immediately obvious where the trail continued so I just went back the same way. But really cool view.

Family friendly, lots of nice doggos, lots of people.

Great hike - be prepared that it's all up hill going out. The ending is worth it though!

Great family hike. If you can climb over some rocks and loose gravel you can go straight to the base of the waterfall.

Such a fun hike with a stunning payoff! We arrived at 7:30 AM and were the only ones at the falls for almost an hr, so arrive early to beat the crowds. On the right side near the falls is a rocky trail. Follow it and then carefully ramble your way over the rocks to get to the back of the falls for a tremendous view!

Great hike with incredible views. We went on a clear day we could see mount hood and the three sisters. It’s a bit steep at the end but totally worth it. The area where the cave was is completely burnt. However, still highly recommend!
