I loved this hike because it was a great workout with quick elevation gain. I also loved the scramble at the top. It’s not a heavy traffic trail which is always a bonus. Gorgeous views all the way up. I agree with other reviews about not doing this trail when there is moisture due to steep incline with a lot of loose rock and it can be slippery. The trail is closest to entrance 4 of red rocks and not clearly marked but I finally found it :) will be doing this one often.

We love biking out here! Great views for little work.

Nice loop, pretty difficult at times. Did it with my dog on a gorgeous early AM during the week, saw 1 hiker and later in the afternoon some mountain bikers. Pretty exposed at times, gorgeous views. It definitely felt like spring.

Great trail! Great views the whole way with a really good cardio workout. A lot of incline trails the whole way up so be prepared !

great hike. Saw some deer. Cool ruins. Hikers, horses and mountain bikes

Hiked this 3/17. Little Challenging but the views are incredible and completely worth it.

Some very steep drop offs if you are afraid of heights, which I am. I was able to do the whole thing but would not do it again or recommend to someone afraid of heights.

It was a nice hike, but be aware of the summit- it’s not very spectacular. There are nice views on the way up and on the first half of the loop (going clockwise) but not much to see at the top but burned trees. The trail was in good shape and we enjoyed the walk. It took us (a family of 4) just over 2 hours.

Great workout and views on this hike. Not super crowded despite the parking lot overflowing. I would definitely do it again.

It’s a beautiful Sunday so we expected it to be a little crowded and it was- but only for the first part of the trail. Once we hit the loop, we only ran into a few people throughout the hike. The views are amazing- especially once you get into the loop. It does get tight in places and there are quite a few rocky areas to navigate but overall it was a fun and interesting trail!

Such a workout !!! If doing in summer bring a hat, there is limited shade here. Steep and slippery incline at the beginning of the trail with about 2 false views. Once past that then it’s moderate hiking until you reach the scramble. Get on all fours and finish to the top ! Be careful going down..... that was the worst part for all of us.

Awesome short day hike! It is a little rocky in some spots just as a heads up. Took about 2hours to complete.

Trekking Poles , next time for sure !

Went with my dog. Easy beautiful hike. Not a lot of traffic on the trails, we saw maybe 5 people. I highly recommend it!

I went on Thursday 4/12 at around noon. I really enjoyed this hike but we also had beautiful weather. Not far from Denver, parking lot was pretty full though. However, once on the trail I didn't see many people. Very scenic views of Golden. Was a relatively easy trail, I was going to do another loop but ran out of time. Took me about 2 hours and I took my time. Trail was marked pretty well except for a couple spots.

Really good work out. Went 4/10/18 on an even day so bikers were kinda taking over lol but everyone is very respectful about sharing the trail. Still a bit muddy on the Enchanted Forrest side but not majorly. Giving it 4 stars because it doesn’t necessarily have a rewarding view or summit...but it’s a nice trail overall. Well marked.

Nice that it’s so close to Denver yet you can experience some good elevation—it’s a workout for sure. The trail gets quite rocky near the top and requires some scrambling but the views are fantastic!

Great hike for a workout. The first 1/3 is pretty steep. It is not as bad after that, but still uphill. Would be a great trail to train on. Really nice views as well.

Parking lot was completely full (1pm), had to park down the highway a bit on the side of the rode. Trail was in good condition, though, mostly dry. Long stretches where there was no one else on the trail with me, which was great. Beautiful views of Golden, Denver, and the mountains. Great afternoon hike only 30 minutes from my house.

Great longer hike. We went on a cooler day which was a blessing seeing as there wasn’t much shade further east on the trail. The wind kept us nice and cool, and the elevation gain was slow but challenging.

Go on this hike in cooler days for sure if you have a tendency to get to hot.

We went on a odd day, which allows but biker traffic both ways down the trail. It got a little congested at times, and sometimes was a little annoying stopping every 5-20 min to allow bikers to pass.

However, the scenery was beautiful and relaxing.

It’s neat once you get to the top. There are a ton of trails you can catch. Lots of mountain bikers, but it’s a wider trail and there’s room for all. There was some mud yesterday, but no ice or snow.

Decent trail. A bit muddy at first this time of year but it dries up not far in. The trail is narrow with a lot of rocks. Nice sweeping views of the valleys below.

Amazing hike great views, but a lot of bicycles in the week, bring sunblock and a lot of water.

this is a good hike. not too busy and friendly people. hike on!!!

Great easy hike for my friend, myself and our two dogs!

Awesome elevation training right by town!!!

Moderate length and ability mostly single track trail. There is a range of open, forest, and rocky terrain. A few good picnic spots up top. The views of Golden and Denver are pretty nice, but can't compare to some of the truly 5 star hikes in this state.

I liked the hike. Thought it was moderate and not difficult . Wonderful views. The downside is that it is quite busy and has quite a few mountain bikers

Love this hike! I have two pugs and it’s perfect hike for them and myself as well. Great views and easy terrain.

I really enjoyed this trail for what it was. Short, intense, close to the city, and gorgeous views at the top. Brought my dog not knowing how steep it was. There was only one part where he was like, “You want me to do what?” But after seeing me climb it he got braver and managed to scramble up. Better climber than I though he was.
