Nice long walk

It's a great trail also great a part of history at the same time in RVA....

Nice open beautiful views! If you are a beginner it might feel longer then the miles posted, but it's a great workout, not too overwhelming. My family and I enjoyed it very much!

Lakeview is a bike trail, so if you start on Powhatan Trail walking you have to turn back at the Lakeview Loop.

I've written a blog post about this hike @ www.break-trail.com

It's got your ups, your downs, your turn arounds. Nice easy short walk in the woods. Bluff over lake is great.

Great easy trail. The path is easily identifiable with clear directional markers.

Love this hike it's mostly along the river. It's well taken care of noticed someone had trimmed back vines on trail..cant wait to go back in a spring!

For a little place there's a lot of little things to explore. Love the cascade little water falls and all the urban city views. Not hiking but a great work out for walking

This trail is awesome! But it gets crowded on the weekends.

I found the trail to be hard to follow as there are a lot of side trails everywhere. We started on the Buttermilk trail and walked through the tunnel to connect to this one. Very different than the Buttermilk where you feel a bit more secluded. In my opinion it’s not a very pretty trail and there is too much city noise for my liking but that’s just me.

sometimes get to see deer, and bald eagle fly by

The trail itself is not bad but the smell from the water treatment plant is horrible. Not worth it.

I've driven by this park hundreds of time in the past. Never knew this little gem was tucked away in there. Nice network of trails intertwining in the midst of a loop that runs along the expressway on one edge and the quiet fencelines of private property elsewhere. So much there, before you know it, you've put in an hour and a great workout.

nice trail, well maintained and easy to follow. the trail skirted the lake in Pocahontas state park and has little elevation change. hiked in December, not much to see. there were a few boards with information but they are old and challenging to read. one overlook, a bridge over some marshy areas. didn't see much wildlife - perhaps bring binoculars for animal spotting.

Great city hike. Easily done by most parties. Doesn’t even seem like you’re in Richmond!

Very easy trail, but stays pretty busy.

This is an excellent 4+ mile in-city walk/hike; it's much more invigorating than a flat surface walk w/rises, twists, rocks and roots to navigate. During the week in the mornings it is not heavily traveled so it's often quite peaceful in the woods (unless the train is running).

Nice scenery. Inclines aren't too bad. Saw 4 other people over a period of 3 hours on a weekday. Bring your hammock/tree straps and have a quiet picnic by the creek.

Nice profile, but for hikers a bit boring. You are always at "the same place ". I would say it my be perfect for bikers and runners. You can always add a bit...

Decent trail. some grade changes along the way. watch for roots and rocks and fallen trees. Seen plenty of wild life along the way. my 7 year old had no problems here. Nice cool and shaded.

so pretty and great for kids

Easy trail to walk with kids, dogs and my wife who has a disability with her heel and ankle. We parked at the parking area which the route was well marked with brown signs coming from the Boulevard. We walked to the part where the concrete channel is. Overall we covered about 1.3 miles there and back. Lots of places to get in the river.

Great for family, the dog, and a good, clear path. Well shaded, even during the heart of the day.
