Nice trail for all ages. We walk our dogs and bike on the trail. It is easy entry and is relaxing.

You need to find a stone graffitied “falls” and veer off the main road to the left to find the yellow diamonds trail to upper and lower falls, goodluck! To enter the trail we went over a white hurdle, continues by the lake and up towards your right, immediate left turn to the “do not enter” (referring to vehicles) kind of tricky but WORTH IT!

A wonderful place of natural beauty hidden in the city. A very healthy walk on a very well maintained trail.

The hike was not bad over all. Not very well marked on the trail which ways to go. There are several residents that live in the area. It wasn't muddy or too cold. The view of the waterfall wasn't too impressive as I had hoped.

Nice hike. Was not too muddy. Not totally sure that we found the right falls, but we found some. They did not look like a picture that was shown us when we wanted to confirm we were in the right track. There was much more to explore then we had time for, so we will definitely be going back.

Very easy hike in, trail just a little slick in areas by the falls. Falls were gorgeous and very enjoyable to listen to.

It's a pretty walk!

Excellent views during the hike. The hike itself was confusing, we kept going back and forth with the map instructions matching with the sign posts. i gave a 4* cause the restrooms were locked! Overall, we enjoyed but I would definitely advise hikers to plan the route.

We walked this trail on Monday. It was a clean trail with nice scenery, but darkness crept up on us and we ended up getting lost, so we had to go back the way we came. There are a lot of different marked trails so don’t be afraid to go off the trail marked by GPS. It’s definitely getting more and more muddy so be careful!

It was a beautiful fall walk through the woods! We explored through a couple unofficial trails, met some nice dogs, and generally enjoyed the fall colors! The main trail was well maintained and there wasn’t any trash around, so altogether good walking up, down and trough the hills.

Falls larger and better than expected

Beautiful hike, wet leaf litter and mud near the falls made it a little slow going, but well worth it.

Great short hike with the dogs. gorgeous old growth and vegetat.

Nice walk. Have seen owls on two different walks near Brook Lake.

Pretty stroll to take with the toddler!

This trail was ok. I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve been on and since starting this whole hiking every Saturdays with the kids journey (this being my 4th trail). I picked this trail only because I read the reviews and saw someone had posted there was a treasure hunt here and since I take my 8 yr old daughter and 11 yr old son I thought “that seems fun!” When we got there we couldn’t find any treasure hunt sign which we were kinda bummed out about. The trail began with us going downhill on staircases that seemed to never end but the beginning of the trail was literally the only challenging part of the trail. The straight a way the rest of the way was kinda boring. Once you get to the end of the trail and go past the train bridge you can look out on the water Tacoma water front. The trail kinda smelled too but it was okay. I didn’t take a pic but also someone left an unopened condom in a tree trunk that you have to pass by to get to the bottom of the hill. So unless you feel like giving your children a sex Ed lesson in the middle of a hike this trail is not the best trail to take.

We almost didn't go on this hike based in all the reports about tweakers- but if you know the area, it is what it is.

That said, we didn't see any tweakers on our entire hike... There was however broken glass Everywhere throughout the trails (do not take little kids or dogs!!). There are also multiple spots where kids have drawn (fake) satanic symbols on trees and saw a couple trees burned (with these symbols). Again- you could tell it was just teenagers, but still, not all the pleasant nature views you want.

There was a young woman and her dog leaving as we arrived that warned us about a drunk guy by the river spouting stuff off that made her uncomfortable & leave, but we never crossed his path thankfully.

Overall it was a decent hike- but don't go alone & I doubt I will do it again.

Nice, easy hike with great views and wildlife. My dog loves it and it’s always a good trip.

A well maintained and clean walking trail. Multiple picnic tables and benches along the way. Great for families of all ages.

Trail is closed until October 1st for logging. A huge disappointment

Spectacular views. Easy run. Not crowded early in the morning and Lots of wildlife. I definitely recommend.

Such beautiful scenery!! Absolutely love this walk. The looped walk has small hills that leads into a couple big hills (depending which way you go, you could be going up or down these hills). If you’re going up the hills, there’s a park up at the top and they have a water fountain and dog water area. Also, a few places to take some amazing photos. Right off the loop walk, there is also a bridge where you can put a lock on. And a body of water that is so pretty, where my kids love to look for crabs.

We walk this park a few times a week. Never noticed any homeless people? It was never completely closed, and is now open. Beach access is great, except at high tide. The trails are well maintained. Pond is full of ducks, and the occasional Heron. We’ve even seen an otter there! Playground always full of kids. 2 clean bathrooms.
It’s a great place!

9/22/18 No longer closed. A small portion of the trail was closed last year for maintenance but now is open.

came in on the little mashel falls-bud Blancher trail side. beautiful trail but beware of vicious blue heeler living on the ranch the trail goes by on the right side. my dog was bit and had to turn back. need to try again with out the pup!

I was hoping to see a few spring flowers, but I guess it's too early. Trail is mostly flat. The loop back is rather steep. I'd recommend a walking stick.
