To Do SLC Map

Great hike, moderate hike with spectacular views the entire way. Really beautiful view of the lake. Next time we will bring 2 cars and hike on Thru to Brighton.

Great hike, small amount of challenge and long enough that you feel accomplished at the end, but short enough that you can fit it into your day very easily.
Views are gorgeous, and it's high up enough that you feel removed from it all.

Definitely bring your dog on ODD numbered days so you don’t have to keep them out of the way of mountain bikers. There are a lot of bikers, runners, and hikers on this rail. Definitely recommend going in the morning (ie. avoid the heat and crowd). Per usual, there’s noticeably more cars/bikes/people as it gets towards 9am+. Pay $3 to a person in a booth on the way out (back toward I-215).

There are two parts to this hike. The first 0.7 miles is Rattlesnake Gulch- shaded and uphill. It’s a workout.

Take a left at the sign. The second part is 1.0 mile on Pipeline Trail with a nice view of the canyon and then the city/valley. Path is narrower and more windy (as in blowing air, not as in curvy), shade harder to come by. (You’ll see a Wasatch National Forest sign at about 1.4 miles total. Go another 0.3 to see a big metal tube thing and a place to sit and enjoy the view for a bit.)

Going up took us 45 minutes with short breaks going uphill. Going down took us 35 minutes with a bunch of stops to move aside for bikers.

killer hike with some amazing views!! i suggest that you do sugarloaf peak with it if you are already up there. its not to much further and you are already right next to it

Great hike. Beautiful relaxing spot when you get to Lake Mary.

Hiked to all the sister lakes. Great hike and very beautiful.

Beautiful stop on the way to lake Catherine.

Pretty steep until you get to the first lake, but it’s worth it!

My family hiked from the Albion Basin trailhead because it was too crowded to park at the campground trailhead. They were only letting in one car for every car that left with no estimate on wait time. That was OK with us, we enjoyed the longer hike, but the kids got a little tired.

This trail was pretty crowded, and while I'm glad lots of people were enjoying the hike, I was unhappy with the lack of "trail etiquette." People on the way down refused to yield the right of way to those climbing. I was even cussed out by some people behind me because I kept yielding to people coming up as we descended. People were also "wading" in Cecret Lake which is strictly prohibited.

We saw a couple of young moose and their mother on the trail through the meadow area under the ski lifts. That experience made the entire trip well worthwhile. The kids were thrilled!

The getting to is HARD! It was really steep for a lot of the time up but the destination made it worth it. Lake Mary is very beautiful.

My favorite hike. I’ve hiked much harder trails and much easier trails but for some reason I keep coming back to this one when I think about my favorite one. My kids and I hike it at least twice a Summer. It is an extremely beautiful lake. Amazing wildflowers and lots of chipmunks and squirrels. We saw a marmot up there once as well. We eat lunch by the lake and let the kids good off and are always back before lunch.

Great hike! I did this one a few weeks ago and it was super easy and had beautiful views. We got there shortly after sunrise. Will definitely do this again and even take my kids with me next time.

Hard start, the first 1/2 mile is where you get the elevation gain. But was a nice short trail.

Started from LCC side, took the ski lift up to parking lot. Trail is in great shape, up to the pass. At the pass, head straight West ( from the sunset peak trail ). Few sketchy spots near the first false summit area. Then a much better trail to the actual summit.

It’s a little dry and hot. It had a nice view and nice that’s its dog friendly.

incredible views.

Great little hike. Pretty steep for the first mile or so, but flat after that. Great after work hike.

love the fact that you can be in such a crowded place and find such solitude within just a few minutes of hiking. fish were small (5 inches or so) but this hike and lake Catherine just above it were phenomenal. I'd love to go back again when there aren't so many people on the trail tho. I had to stop quite a few times to let big groups pass by and it was just myself. great hike tho and some very beautiful scenery.

One of my favorite hikes from this summer! The trail was a bit crowded on the way up to Cecret Lake, and that part of the trail is very easy, but once I started heading up the mountain, I didn’t pass a single person. The last stretch of the trail after passing the lake is quite steep and narrow, and as you get closer to the top, there is a lot of loose shale and gravel, so take your time and wear good shoes! The views are beautiful, and this is such a rewarding hike.

Beautiful wild flowers, though here are definitely less as this point in the season. The lake is fun too. If the ski lift is running, you can take it down the mountain for free! Busy hike

A very good trail for almost every skill level. It gets a little steep for the last 1/2 mile. The entire trail is very well maintained.

Decided to do this hike with my two boys (8 and 10) after camping at the Spruces the night before. The boys complained about the incline going up from Brighton, but overall it really wasn't bad and was a great hike that I knew my boys could survive.

Steep in some areas and very over grown but a great hike none the less. Don’t expect to swim in the lake, it’s just for the doggos :)

great hike a little difficult for a beginner like me had to stop quite a bit to catch my breath and i also forgot the bug spray if you hike this Trail you're definitely going to need bug spray for all the mosquitoes... But once we reach the lake it was all worth it so beautiful up there

Gorgeous water, beautiful wildflowers!

Saw 5 different moose, a porcupine, and lots of deer! We started at the trail head at 530 AM ! Got to the top around 630 AM and watched the sunrise ! This is my favorite hike ever! So beautiful! Accurately labeled moderate!

We hit the trail around 8:45am and saw a smattering of people now and then. This has lovely views on the climb, with lots of wild flowers and the lake is peaceful when loud talking people are not there. Why do people talk so loud? On the way down we stopped at Dog Lake which is small and more peaceful. We spotted a moose couple near the end of the hike which made our day; we couldn't miss them they crossed the trail.
