Nice walk. A flat smooth trail with lots of shade. Opened up to a beautiful beach which was not overcrowded at all. Nice little hike to end our day with the dogs.

Short trek to the redwoods. Not a very clear trail. But it was nice to see the redwoods not far off the road.

Very easy, smooth, wide, and shaded trail. The poison oak was very red this week. The season must be coming to an end. Oak trees are awesome, and some very large, The beach was covered with drift wood. When the waves were going back into the sea, they were able to move some of the rocks at the waters edge. You could hear the rocks bumping into each other, I have never heard this before and it was really interesting. The parking lock charges ten dollars, to park but I saw a number of cars parked on the side of the road, Wild flowers were still in bloom. Very nine hike.

I loved this hike it is easy and has great views along the coast. Lots of trees, coast and ocean. I would definitely do if I am in the area again. The dogs loved it too!

Wish fixing this trail was a priority. It is really a gem and I want to take my kids back.

Loved this easy trail with fun river crossings! I used poles while crossing the rivers and it was a huge help!

beautiful view & easy

Since my kids were small we come here at least once a year and anytime we are coming through the area. This is a great hike for small kids. It is easy short but offer rock hopping and enough scrambling to make it fun. Climb to the top of the falls if you can!

Gorgeous and quick! Must do trail

A very short hike to the gulch but it's so pretty. I was very happy to see the redwoods. You can also scramble up some rocks at the end and there is a hike-in camping area too.

Tough!

Foolishly I left a little too late and the sun was beating on me. For most of the trail, it was in direct sunlight with a few clusters of trees desperately needed for shade.

There were one or two places where the trail completely gave out, need to manage a balance beam step or two during this.

Also there was one section early on that had a fork, maybe 10-15 minutes in. I went right since that was the direction with a steeper incline.

Top 3/4 near the summit is overgrown, lots of pokes and scratches.

Easy trail with great rewards. From the San Simeon pier, walk a 1/4 mile on the beach northward till a wide dirt trail ascends on the right. This is the main trail. Good views of the ocean until you turn away from the bay. You enter into a beautiful forest of cypress trees. Unfortunately the trees will block out your view for the next mile. There are some tree gaps or tunnels through the trees to a smaller rim trail the gives great views of the ocean. Unfortunately some of the trails are unstable and dangerous. Caution should be used. Past the cypress trees a narrow trails goes to the furthest spot with great ocean views. The wind can be brisk and cool even on a sunny day. Access to any of these remote beaches from the cliffs is not easy and should only be attempted by the most agile.

More easy than moderate. Absolutely beautiful and very shady.

A very nice trail I would rate moderate. I ascended with a portion of the Valencia Peak trail to get a better workout and avoided that route down in order to save the knees. I look forward to returning in April to see the wildflowers.

Followed recommendations to do the uphill Ridge trail first then connecting to the Panorama trail and finally Bluff trail., clockwise. Good advise because then the best ocean views are in front of u for second half of the hike and it’s cooler. However wish I’d know that the first 3 to 4 miles or so are uphill and extremely strenuous with no ocean views. A good hike if you’re a fit person!

Got an early start this trail is exposed to sun first couple of mi. Heart starter switchbacks . Cool in the am . Trail is well maintained. Nice views from first peaks as with most Big Sur hikes steep outta the gate but the payoff is spectacular! Made it to upper Cruikshank camp ( one table and a fire pit...:) Had lunch and headed back down.

Love this spot. Always a pit stop of our drives up North along the coast.

when I went there was a small trickle of water. it's a 5 minute hike. Real pretty, but I would recommend going after a rain to see more water.

Did this trail today and it’s only 2 miles up and back to the top where the bell is. Elevation Gail is 1,152. It’s a mile of UP! Coming down is no joke be careful or you will end up on your a$$. But incredible views at the top.

Overall a good short hike, but nothing that makes it stand out or special. It's close to the highway so you can hear cars entire time, plus the trail itself is heavily trafficked. The views were nice at the top.

Nice hike! Good views!
Took me 3.5 hours to complete with photo and snack breaks. It can get quite windy sometimes.

Beautiful trail! Took me about 4 hours to do the full loop with a beach break. Recommend to bring water/snacks and long pants.

This was a decent hike. It was mainly foggy, so we didn’t get a chance to see the “nice” scenery. We started at 8am though, so you may want to wait until the fog lifts to actually enjoy it. The incline was fairly decent. We hiked next to a tower too, so we were able to access the Wi-Fi on our phones. Pretty chill hike!

Good, short workout with beautiful view of mountains and ocean at top. Trail is heavily used and worn with many fellow walkers/runners/hikers even on weekday. Close to CA-1 and civilization so don't get that away-from-it-all feeling.

Moderate, no shade. Very nice at the beach area with purple sand (spring trail)

Nice trail - better in winter as it doesn’t have much shade

expectacular hike. great sources of water for backpacking. beautiful views. trail is very clean with poison oak. a little narrow close to strella campsite but not too bad.
