Lots of people, a lot to pay for parking. Hike itself was fun and scenery was good. Would have been better if there was sun.

Distances were a little wonky but because it was flat it was fairly easy.

Great trail. Walked with my 10 years old daughter and her friend. Good walk out.

Great fitness trait. Can be crowded. Parking sucks

This is an amazing hike/ scramble. The rock formations are incredible, the views from the top are definitely worth the climb. Definitely recommend starting early to not only avoid the heat but avoid crowds as well. With a 6am start I was able to beat the long lines of people that I passed on the way down. Most of the hike is also shaded by the mountain during the morning hours. Once the hike turns into a scramble, it can be somewhat hard to follow the trail (if you can even call it that), keep an eye out for the blazes in the rocks and when in doubt, keep to the left side and you will be fine. There seems to be multiple paths to the top but they all funnel to the left and merge into one just before the flatiron.

This trail is more rock climbing vs hiking once you pass the draw. Not for the faint of heart. Trail definitely needs to be marked better as we and several other hikers got off course.

excellent day to hike, very few hikers. in addition to checking out 5024..bushwack to the hoodoos behind Flatiron...unique rock formations and windows to the east.

Good Long trail steady climb. And obviously the awesome photo opp at the end

A natural place to hike, you can be a beginner like me or an experienced hiker like the rest of the world I seem to be running around with theses days ! Yet, all can enjoy this trail. I stop half way up & then take in the surroundings. & head back. I’ve got a good 2 miles in for the day and I am pleased Tina Hillstrom

enjoyable hike for the morning good workout. loads of people on the trail, easy tracking with goo signage and the view is just amazing

Fun easy hike, loved the scenery

Starts out easy, but quickly turns into a good incline. Great lookout point at completion.

Awesome hike with great views of Phoenix!

Nice quiet trail with breath taking views of the Salt River valley and the Superstition Mountains. This is a long trail and you will need to plan to take lots of water and maybe a snack. This trail is not well marked so a GPS would be handy if you have not hiked it before. There is a fee per car to enter the park.

I love this hike but the road going in makes me nervous. I don't trust drivers and have seen too many bad accidents so be careful driving in and watch traffic ahead. I know that sounds easy but you have no idea what I've heard in my lifetime. Anyway. the hike is beautiful throughout. The rocks are beautiful, well marked and maintained trails. Towards the end of the hike, some of the markers fell down and I tried to fix them but didn't have the manpower or equipment. My fitbit showed that the trail was less than 4.50 miles. The first 1.20 miles are all uphill. That's the tough part. Just take your time. The rest of the way is pretty much switchbacks and up and down. I think this trail should be marked hard. Anyway, going down is fine if you watch where you step. Step on the dirt, not the small rocks. It took me 2 hours and that includes taking pictures and talking to strangers and helping the find a different trail.

This is a nice, challenging hike with stunning views. I did it in the late afternoon and finished it with an amazing sunset. This made the hike nice and cold and absolutely beautiful.
Trail is easy to follow, just up! You can go in many different ways, and they all seem “easier” to some and harder to others. Your pick.

great views!!! A lot of uphill, but had plenty of places to rest and take scenic pics.

I did it on a hot Nov day in 2018 in the mid 70s. Took me 4 hours to get to top, but I am in descent cardeo shape, but from car, parked at nearby closest parking lot off the campsite, it took me 5 hours roundtrip. It was a very different, long, and dangerous hike past the basin area, but had great views at very top. Basin has great views, too. Trail could have used more markings past the Basin. If you can do Echo Camelback twice in a row, you are ready for Flatiron. I heard this was hardest hike in valley and people use it to train for the Grand Canyon. I hiked GC once. Terrain past the basin is nothing like the GC but it takes motivation and endurance like the GC. If start after 1 pm in Nov, flashlights are essential. I would not recommend kids hike much above the basin. There is an 8 ft wall near very end of Siphon that begins Flatiron which you must rock climb. I got up it alone, but had to really be super careful and coming down I used a tree branch and someone gave me a hand. Not sure how anyone could expect to do that part of hike alone, honestly, so don’t be shy and just wait and ask someone for help, if doing hike solo like I did. I was saddened to see how many parents get a late start and or stay at the very top way too long taking photos and then have to carry their babies and toddlers down and expect to only use the flashlights on their phones for help without moonlight. Flatiron is too dangerous to do without flashlights even with moonlight. I drank almost 100 oz of water doing it in 70s, and didn’t even think I was even drinking very much, so next time I will bring even more water, and Electrolyte tabs for my water.

beautiful views. Can be tough in parts as it is pretty steep.

Love everything about this hike.

Very cool hike. The parking lot was packed on a Saturday in November by 9 am. I had to hike from another parking lot on the lost goldmine trail just to get to the wave cave trail. Made for long return trip! Anyway, the hike is pretty strenuous unless you’re in good shape. The elevation gain is pretty intense in the last leg before the cave. Definitely worth it. I hiked in running shoes and wished I had a hiking shoes. There’s a lot of slippery gravel on the way down so be careful and take your time. The cave itself is pretty dusty. Amazing views!

Pleasant trail along the creek with many crossings. We enjoyed the shade and partial views of towering cliffs on either side, even though the trail was fairly heavily trafficked. We did not go all the way to the end where we were told the vistas open out a bit. This would probably be an even better trail earlier in Autumn when the cottonwoods were still in color.

Early November was a perfect time if year for this fun trail.

Worth the hike ☺️
Standing on the top of the Devils bridge wasn't as scary as I thought

I hiked this trail for the first time on Wednesday around 4:00pm and it was not at all busy we only saw about 10 other hikers. This is a tough trail in the beginning, lots of steep switchbacks. But, once you get past that part it’s a lot easier and oh so worth it for the views. It’s a gorgeous trail and it was very clean. It can be hard on the knees coming down but we took our time and I would do this trail more often if I lived closer.
My step counter was 11993, 4.4miles, and 111floors.

Great trail! We went counter-clock-wise, and were really glad we did. There are several (short) steep rocky portions that I would rather go up than come down. Great views! As others have said, there is no shade, and it is 7.7 miles. Very gradual ascent and descent, if it weren't for the length, I'd rate this as easy. Def. recommend.

Very nice day hike, beautiful views!

Beautiful hike! Recommend hiking boots not sneakers. Several areas of crossing water on rocks and sometimes had to step in water to cross. Not dangerous, just wouldn’t think anyone would want wet sneakers. The whole trail has gorgeous views.

Do not go after 4:00. Be very careful bringing kids. It’s not an easy hike at the top. More like a climb to the cave. Takes about 2hours to get up if you are a non hiker.
