Excellent day with dry conditions! We clocked 11 km and 912 metre gain to helipad! 4 hours 10 minutes with lots of breaks! Amazing hike and views! Can’t wait to come back and go up ridge !

Thigh burner for sure! Some snow and packed ice present, spikes and poles recommended. Got lucky and had a glorious sunshine lunch on the helipad - very little wind.

Easy trail to a decent view point. If you go just a couple hundred meters up towards midnight peak the views are excellent.

beautiful hike! parked at the closed parking area and walked across the creek, theres a clearly marked trail. its pretty steep the first few kms as you get up to the ridge, a few areas of exposure but mostly in the trees. we went up novemeber 11th and there was snow but some areas were still free of snow, alot more snow on the ridge, spikes are a must!!

Great trail with beautiful views. Spikes strongly recommended this time of year. Snowshoes are helpful near the end of the trail as it becomes less packed.

Amazing hike/climb. Requires scrambling near top of Mt. Baldy and along ridge between Mt. Baldy and Mt. Baldy South. Icy up there now so the scrambling is a bit trickier and requires experience. The bowl/valley between the peaks is starting to get some snow so be avalanche aware if going down or up that way. Wonderful views along the ridges and top, and don’t forget to write your name on the notepad sealed in a black container at the top of Mt. Baldy!!

Did this hike yesterday with my dog, it was absolutely amazing , it was both of our first time ever really hiking in the Canadian Rockies. Amazing views on the way up and absolutely breath taking on the way down, times this one out perfectly to watch the sun setting behind the mountains. 5 hours total and that’s with stopping for multiple water and food breaks for myself and my dog.

I was very disappointed with the zoo. We did not see any animals but many bunny tracks. The snow gave it a nice touch but was confused why there was so much more snow the higher up we went when we were getting closer to the sun. It makes zero sense. It should be warmer.

Parked at closed day use area. Walked north across the river and the trail is very visible. Steep trail be prepared for some leg burn. Completed Nov 5,18 and I didn’t use spikes or poles. Was a little slippery so spikes would be beneficial. Took me 3 hours, very Little climbing rock. Just near the summit you have a tiny scramble. Only got the view for 10 minutes or so because the clouds and snow blew in. Good workout. I will have to do it again on a clear day because I did not get the full view at the summit.

I loved this hike! There was lots of deep snow coming down and many areas were slick so it gave us and the dogs a challenge. I will def do this hike in the summer. The views are beautiful.

Hiked it NOV. 3rd.. we parked at the day park area which was closed. Followed the trail north along hwy40, that lead into the bushes. trail was steep and Icey going up. Spikes and poles were key, once you get to the ridge you can explore right and left, left will take u up to the summit, pretty easy going from there. 1 foot of snow, but well tracked down. Awesome 360 views of the valley and all peaks around. Absolutely gorgeous.
Decent was icey and muddy, bush waked the whole way down to stay off the muddy trail . Was an awesome hike. We took our time with lots of breaks to take nature in. Up and down in 4 hours.

Great view at top not so much to the west aslougheed and surrounding mountains arein 3000m category. Can see lil part of canmore. Like most summits youll have to prepare for the elements

Got here right after sunrise and finished right as the bus loads of tourists arrived in the parking lot. Very pleasant surprise and absolutely gorgeous. Saw only 2-3 other couples hiking. Ends with a waterfall but that’s not even the best part of the trail. One of my favorites.

Hiked on 11.1.18
Microspikes and poles up to the tea house. Heard multiple avalanches..Attempted to walk to the lookout point but turned around about 3/4 of the way due to high snow, unsure footing and avalanche risk.
Overall excellent hike had the whole area to ourselves just be prepared.

Lots of snow, snowshoes are a must. Had to break trail most of the way, would strongly suggest having a good GPS app, saved us past the first valley in order to find the best route to the ridge. Larches were beautiful, the views made this 6.5 hour hike worth it, full 360 view of mountains.

We went last summer, underestimated this hike Haha! Took us 7 hours round trip, I’m pretty sure we hiked 2 trails or were just that slow! amazing views at the top but we were very ill prepared! Haha next time we will bring more then one water bottle! Enjoy!

Great hike! Did this about a week ago. Needed cleats! We lost the trail on our way up... at one point it goes way up on the right, we missed that and followed steps we found in the snow on the left instead. That path kinda followed the same curve around but way lower so we ended up scrambling in loose rocks in the avalanche path which was very steep... ouf that was challenging! Finally found the trail again close to the top. What a VIEW! You can see Lake Louise, Lake Agnes, Little Beehive Big Beehive and much much more!

Hike was ok.. highly recommend crampons this time of year as half way up became quite icy. Extremely windy at the top

Went on Oct 21. Had to walk down the highway, as the road to Moraine is closed temporarily. Nice hike. The elevation really is at the start and then the last bit up to the lake. The lake was beautiful and almost frozen over, definitely cold up there. Lots of snow on the trail, but it was packed down enough to make the trek manageable sans-snowshoes. Highly recommend crampons or similar.

We went on October 27th, 2018 and it was snowing and windy the whole way up. Crampons or microspikes required! It cleared up a bit by the time we got to the ridge, but conditions were bad enough we didn’t risk going all the way to the summit. Would love to do again in the summer!

Did this as part of our yearly trip in September 2018. Was an amazing day and the weather was beautiful family friendly hike for all skill levels

Great shoulder season hike. Gets steeper as you get close to the lake. Managed to do Harvey Pass as well but it is challenging with the snow. Make sure you are prepared if you go past Bourgeau Lake.

Really nice trail! Amazing views. No snow except near the summit. A little bit slipery but definitely worth it!

Very beautiful hike. Definitely worth the up hill. A bit to windy for me and super cold at the helipad. would try to do again on less windy and warmer day.

This is not an easy hike .. moderate at least .. especially at the moment since you spent the entire time trudging through snow and ice .. must have cleats or poles to get to the top .. well marked but thanks to AllTrails map for helping us though this route .. the view? Stunning. The experience? Absolutely worth it!

Hiked the trail today. Amazing weather for late October. Very little snow or mud. We brought our Scottie and he easily made it right to the top Ridge.

We did the full hike in under 6 hours with no gear. Just hiking shoes and lots of water. If you haven’t been here before these are some of the best views in Kananaskis.

Great trail. Definitely need shoe spikes, can rent in town for $9.00.
