Sunday late morning: beautiful, easy, lots of dogs running around happily in the creek, multiple parking lots

Turkey creek is always a go to for me, especially my dog! There are a few downed trees in the path now, and quite a bit of slippery spots if wet.. but other than that it's a nice trail. My favorite time to go is after it rains, it makes the experience a little more interesting with the higher water level in the creek. Definitely prepare to get your feet wet, and meet quite a few dogs along the way!
There are no bathrooms, or water fountains! so be sure to bring lots of water and prepare ahead of time.

This is my favorite trail in Austin. The recent rains have the water up, there are a few downed trees across the trail, and it is pretty muddy in some areas, but it doesn’t make it any less great. Just be prepared to get your feet wet.

Great and off leash dog friendly

Love this trail! Great for kids and pets.

Great trails in here. Can’t wait to go back!

Love the trail, it’s a bit tricky to get to since there aren’t much signs near the parking lots, but once you’re on the trail there will be signs leading you along the way. Lastly the trail is amazing, with rocks along the way, and if it has rained recently don’t be surprised if you run into mud.

Great trail but can be muddy after rains.

Excellent hike in west Austin. Lots to see. Just be aware that there are no restrooms or trash cans along the trail. This is a plus for me, but some might not agree.

Nice shaded trail where your dogs can be off leash. The cons: the trail isn’t well marked and after a rain, you will get your feet wet.

This is a beautiful west Austin park. It’s not too big, however it’s very scenic. Great trail for dogs!

Nice views of the lake. Good distance, easy hiking. However, it's a VERY confusing trail of zigs and zags.

This park is great but trails get very crowded on weekends—both foot traffic and biking/cycling. No fees for entry (City of Austin park).

Great trail to escape and hike with the pups! Very good trail with plenty of room to walk 3-dogs wide. Trail is great because you get a good deal of variety. You get a mix of rocky (large and small), wooded terrain, and then some nice views of the lake on top of the bluffs.
Its not going to challenge you and get your heart rate up very high, but its a decent workout if you keep a good pace.

Love this one! It was a super easy trail, and there’s a creek flowing beside you with lots of dogs to run into along the way!!

Great hike for you and your four legged friend. A lot of dogs around off leash - so just make sure that your recall game is strong.

Good trail today. Some small areas that are wet but easy to get around. Did Blue to Mud creek loop to red

this is definitely not what I would consider a good running trail. very Rocky with numerous Creek crossings that slow your stride. Also this is rampant with dogs and very crowded- dogs were well behaved but it made it harder to run. I also found the trail not well marked past the creek- once you are away from the creek however it was very pretty and peaceful. most people stay by the creek so the crowed thinned. nice trail for a walk

Trail is nice for novice riders, however need to get started early to avoid the heat. Very scenic in the spring season. Best during fall and winter season.

Pretty wooded trail. Occasionally we saw dumping sites of trash.. several old barbecue grills, and other things. Trail not marked. Every so often the path will break off with several path options, unsure which one to take each time. After awhile it’s easy to get lost. But we enjoyed the trees.

Beautiful weather and perfect creek flow led to a great hiking experience at the Turkey Creek Trail. Lots of creek crossings and off-leash dogs but was part of the fun. Once you get to the beginning of the loop, be mindful to stay left despite what looks like the trail leading up a hill.

It was a great moderate trail! Not very many animals, terrain varied somewhat! There were bathrooms along the trail and several picnic tables! The only downside was that it was not very well marked however, the app really helped!

Nice lake views and good mix of rocky, wooded terrain. Trail gets extremely muddy in some spots so bring your water-proofs!

Perfect for running on/off trail options. Bikers are always polite and either ring a bell or say something to give a heads up. Most even let you know when a group passes who’s the last one or how many are in the group. Dog meet ups and play dates created with amazing people. Just love this place.

This was a really fun trail! Great for taking your dog hiking. Follows along a really cute creek that you crossover several times. a little muddy this time of year, but still a good time.

Be cool

My absolute favorite hike to take my dogs on. Even when it's busy you don't interact with that many people beyond passing them. I always wear water friendly shoes because you will more than likely get your feet wet crossing the creek.

Water is still pretty high so plan on getting your feet wet as you go over the many creek crossings! Fun walk!
