Fun easy morning trail

This trail was wonderful! May have got turned around, but the view was prettier with each turn. Bring extra water and the power lines can be used as a landmark to keep you on your path!

Beautiful views...moderately steep and rocky on the way up but nice downhill .

I did this hike on a Tuesday afternoon and the trail was pretty empty. It's a great hike in the middle of the city. The first half is fairly flat with a few optional side trails, and the second half was full of some steep and challenging hills with great views from the top.

It's been several years since I visited this trail and now I remember why. The trail was full of runners and packs of cyclists so most of our morning was spent trying to get out of their way as they came passed. We started before 8:00am and there were already a lot of people on the trail. If you are looking for peace and quiet, I do not recommend this hike.

nice area. Some parts be very wary during rattlesnake season

Great hike to take the dogs!

This was an amazing trail.. there are many different trails to take on.

I haven’t actually done this trail yet, but I want to bad! I’m fairly new to the area and a little worried about venturing in the “back woods” by myself. The only daylight time I really am available right now are Wednesday and Thursdays. If anyone (or many) are interested in teaming up to run Mission Trails or any other in San Diego area shoot me an email: warfitnessgrp@gmail.com. Hopefully there’s others that have a open schedule on Wednesday and Thursday’s!

A really nice place to walk or mountain bike... The Ranger keeps this park really nice...

It was a long walk with an 11 and 5 y/o but they did It!
We went on a Sunday and it was busy.
The falls were pretty and we enjoyed some of the small off trails by the creek.

A nice trek indeed. You are surrounded by nature's beauty throughout the different stages of the trail. The only thing to watch out for are the horse/dog droppings. Will definitely be back to this trail again.

We went with two 7yrs old kids on a breezy bright San Diego morning. I was skeptical at first. Thinking the kids was going to whine and not make it to the goal.

We all had fun. Really enjoyed the scenery and the walk was easy for everyone.

We loved this trail. Scenery was great when you look away from the eye sore of huge homes on top of each other. Terrain varied as we took the loop over looking the lake. I see this as a great way to test gear before major hikes.

The wife and I are new to hiking and training for overnight backpack trips. This hike will be added to our list of returns.

Great cool morning hike!

Scary but so worth it.

I’m new to hiking and so far this is my favorite spot

Really nice easy in and out walk with views of the water... some shade but not much. A lot of bikers so watch out for bends.

Very pleasant walk through meadow with spectacular views, multiple trails can be used to create loops of varying length and difficulty.

The place of after-lunch-walk for QComm employees.

A bit more than just a walking trail. Very pretty!

Trails aren’t well marked and lots of rock along the trail. However, the scenery is pretty and it’s not too crowded.

Great alternative to Cowels Mountain! A little less steep, quiet, less people, and wider trails.

decent trail, easy walk to stream. this hike tends to be crowded around the stream with multiple routes to get there.

Beautiful, slightly out-of this-world trail for experienced risk takers. Three very sketchy places where “horizontal” part is 1-2” wide and made of loose sand. Cling to the wall with your belly but don’t grab what appears to be a good hold too hard – you may end up with a detached piece of sandstone in your hand. Prayers won’t help traction – wear good shoes. Although locals claim that doing it barefoot is the best (not for me). Don’t start the 1st narrow part (either way you go) if not sure, you may find yourself in an impossible situation. Consider yourself warned.

Beautiful trail with tons of things to see and cool little bridges mostly for the bikers but some to get through little pockets of water or weeds. Honestly an amazing hike especially since it’s so close to the lake for about 90% of the trail, new favorite spot close to home! One thing to keep in mind, since it is a hiking trail as well, just make sure if you’re hiking or running you keep an eye out for bikers, while there’s a ton of smaller trails that offer bikers access to an alternative route there’s just some areas you need to keep an eye out cause the path is a bit smaller. Overall super happy i found this place :)
