Really nice! Easy parking and quick to get on the trail. I did this hike alone and felt very safe. It’s moderately trafficked but not too busy. At each of the overlooks I had the area to myself. So pretty and not too challenging.

My 18month old daughter and I mastered this trail today. It was such a beautiful day. It was a little confusing starting out, but once we found the trail it was a piece of cake. Pay attention to the trail markers... we missed the waterfalls by a mile because we were following the blue markers. Follow the white markers. It will lead you down about 250 stone stairs right to the waterfall! If you’re backpacking (like I was with our baby carrier) it’s HELL getting back up! All in all it was a beautiful hike and I am so happy we did this.

Always enjoyable. This is turning into a default area for us.

One of my favorite trails. A little of everything elevation, flat areas, beautiful views.

went with the family and a 3 month old Aussie pup. Dont know that my parents enjoyed it as much as I did, but the views are absolutely gorgeous the whole way and it's a great reward for the tough hike. (Mind you, even if you're in pretty decent shape it's tough though)

this place is near and dear to my heart glad I live so close to such a beautiful place the big man above created a masterpiece with this one

Fun trail. I didn’t realize the Tower was the end - I continued down to the river (veered left in front of the tower). There was a path going right that I didn’t take. Going down to the river makes this a even tougher climb back up but it’s well worth it. Some climbing over fallen trees / big rocks and stumps is required. I went in March and it was empty. Saw only 1 other hiker. The falls were great. Really enjoyed the hike. .

cant wait to come back this summer!

This is great for a quick hike/trail run. Especially if you take the longer trail.

Just Beautiful!!

Great workout and beautiful views!

So lovely. Childhood favorite.

Awesome!!! Yes... there is some difficulty involved - steep climbs, rocks and stairs BUT the falls are just incredible. Such awesome views.
WATCH YOUR KIDS! It can be extremely dangerous for any little one that you have difficulty keeping under control.

Big payoff for only a short hike. Rarely do you get to view a waterfall from the top vantage point and this one doesn't disappoint. You really can't hike to the bottom but views from the top are special. I consider this an easy hike but it is mostly uphill on the return.

Awesome trail with the pups. Great falls but slightly slippery while exploring. Steep climb in some areas but worth it!

Amazing place to hang out or hike. There are so many different viewpoints and trails here in this area that you can see something different everytime. My favorite trail is the one leading down to the bottom of the falls. Its a tough little hike, but worth it for sure. Love this place.

One of my all time favorite hikes. This waterfall is absolutely amazing!!! Worth every step. If you are thinking of doing this trail. DO IT!!

This trail is labeled HARD for a reason, but it is so worth it!! In the summer there are wild blueberries lining the path, and the views of the gorge are simply stunning. the campgrounds are also gorgeous.
Be ready for some burning legs! This trail is breathtaking in more ways than one!

Great falls to visit year round. Easy to get to in the snow.

Loved the views!!! Rough hike. Beware. Worth it for the views.

Very crowded on a Sunday morning, which was to be expected for such a nice trail that wasn’t too difficult and you are rewarded with the waterfall at the bottom!

Rather easy , even for an active senior..

This trail was a lot tougher than I expected. With that being said, this was an absolutely gorgeous hike. The payoff was completely worth the effort. At the end of the trek there is an awesome overhang with a beautiful view which is perfect for camping or simply having lunch.

Awesome easy trail!

Fun trail, but heavily trafficked.

As a resident of the area. We live off Wolf Pit Rd and enjoy sharing our mountain to all who want to enjoy it. The road in (Wolf Pit) is a State/Federal rd. It has fallen into a sad shape. We have started a petition to submit to our Representatives to get some agency to take up repair and maintenance of Wolf Pit. I love the view in the winter

Crabtree falls is the hidden gem of blue ridge parkway. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. It is less than three miles all together and is dog friendly. The hike is slightly more challenging when the rocky trail is wet, but still easy for a “strenuous” trail.

Great hike, trail is well marked and we'll maintained; there is also a water fountain for drinking water near a shaded area. However, very crowded at times and you cant jump in the water due to contamination. Beware of rattle snakes. on the plus side there are a few tables for lunch near the falls.

VERY cold day to be up there today! It was about 6 degrees with 40mph gusts at the top of Grassy Ridge. We started off in Carver's Gap when it was still snowing, but it cleared by the time we got to the top. The 2-3 foot drifts made it a slog, but we had the right gear to stay warm. It's hard to rate the difficulty of the hike due to the weather and trail conditions today, but I look forward to an overnight camping trip up there in nicer weather. One minor complaints is that the trail gets a bit narrow as it passes through the thick brush, and I hope it gets trimmed back before the busy seasons starts. It wasn't a big deal today, but people would get pretty scratched-up walking through there with exposed skin. All in all, a great hike!
