Beautiful view when you get to the top. Definitely worth the hike.

Been there on Sunday 08/11/2018. Enjoyed the hike but did not like the fact that there are no view points (no creeks, no waterfalls or no high views), it was all dry. The tail path is wide and good. I guess this trail is rated Hard because of the elevation and the distance. Took 4 hours to the top and 2.5 hours to come back. Less crowd. Not much sun light. It was all rocks at the top. The view from the top is good. Near to North Bend Downtown and easily accessible, decent parking lot. Restrooms are horrible.

Great hike. Beautiful views.

great hike a few steep switchbacks

Just did a 4 night trek, up Aasgard, down through Snow Lakes. It was very challenging for me but so worth it. Bugs were only bad the first day. Last time I was here was 36 years ago and it was more outstanding than I remembered. (and harder!)

I love this hike, but prefer to do it during the week (early) as it gets very, very busy! I never get tired of the view from the ledge.

This hike was exhilarating! I highly recommend everyone try it at least once. We went on August 12, which was a little overcast. Check the weather before you go so that you hike on a day to meet your expectations. An overcast day keeps you cooler, but you will miss some of the views. Overcast worked for me, as I skipped some of the trails the closer we got to the top. For an extra challenge try some boulder jumping. This was an amazing experience!

great training hike.
From Chuckanut it is much more difficult than from the upper parking lot or from the parking lot at barrel springs road.
great view from the top.

Go to BelSquare if you want to be around this many people. Beautiful lake. Lots of bugs. Very scenic trail.

on Snow Lake Trail

Hike is beautiful, but it is so packed and literally ZERO trail etiquette. Lots of loud people on the trail. Because of the amount of people we turned off snow lake and went up to another small lake. Couldn’t get down to the water but had beautiful views and ended up being a 5 mile in and out hike. Won’t do it again but it is very beautiful.

Always a good strenuous hike/run. Today did two loops to the summit. Lots of friendly people out there today, appreciate everyone moving off to the side for this old guy running.

Lovely hike close to Seattle. Can be crowded.

Solid trail. Not tough but good length. Bring that bug spray and get an early start because it gets busy but great longer hike for beginners.

Easy trail. Plenty of parking today at 930AM. Variety of hikers. Lots of people (as is the case with the influx of people to Seattle). Outstanding view.

The beginning of the hike is easier and runs along side a river. You’ll start to hear the waterfall as you hike deeper and start to gain a little elevation. There is a fabulous lookout point with benches to enjoy the view of the waterfall from afar. The hike becomes a slightly harder with lots of change in elevation towards the waterfall. There are no signs on the trail. We ended up at the upper falls spot first and then went back down towards the lower falls lookout afterwards. Gorgeous hike!!

Oh sweet Jesus this was challenging! Mostly because it was so hot! Went on Wed Aug 8 and it HOT! But what a beautiful hike and views at the top we’re worth it... I went alone but in hindsight might have been good to have company... I appreciated the meditative time with nature.. Enjoy!

Great workout. Not much for views until you get to top. Scramble the haystack for a fantastic valley and Mountain View.

Not scenic until you reach the top. Good hike and the view at the top is worth it, but there are much better hiking destinations in Washington.

Overall good family friendly hike, it is busy though.

Awesome experience to hike the trail... We completed first 4 miles of hike within 2 hours but the final miles once we reach Rocky Mountain area it took more time and we got tired a lot... But with the cool breeze and most around we enjoyed our hike and finally reached the destination “Mailbox”... Nice to see people leave something that remind their visit in there... Since it was covered with mist/clouds we couldn’t get the view completely... Later when we started back, it was raining like anything and finally end up getting wet completely. While return we took the old trail or primitive trail thinking that we will get nice views... But the thing is that it is very steep and while coming down we need to extra careful and also we may get lost in the trail since the pathway is damaged and not clear if you don’t have a map downloaded offline... though it had few nice views I can say... Overall we had an awesome hike with great views, wild flowers, fruits and sceneries!!! It’s worth a hike!!! Remember to take a Discover pass with you.. Or else you get a parking ticket...

Such a great hike with incredible views at the top!

Trained by doing a bunch of challenging hikes leading up to this. Definitely helped. It's not so much difficult physically as it is mentally: if you can train your mind to understand time and space while doing the hike, you'll be much better off (not just for the Pass, but also the long hike down to the Snow Lakes trail head).

This was our 1st hike and we were ill prepared. I thought a pair of Nike Tennis would be fine, but boy was I wrong. The hike was beautiful though. Swimming in the lake was very rewarding. My feet hated me afterwards however!

The intensity level reflects what is stated on the site, HARD. I’m new to hiking and this hike was very rigorous and exhausting. I’m not in the best shape and I have asthma so I took many breaks on my way up. My legs started giving up once I was almost at the lookout but a group of hikers let me borrow their trekking pole. You definitely meet nice people when hiking :)

Tips:
- Bring bug spray, you don’t really feel the mosquitos and flies unless you stop.
- Drive VERY carefully on the last 6 miles before arriving at the parking lot as the dirt/gravel road is filled with a lot of potholes.
- Wear hiking shoes as you are walking over LOTS of rocks.
- You need a parking permit (Northwest Forest Pass), which you can purchase at Verlot Public Service Center for $5.
- Bring plenty of water and a snack.
- Take breaks as needed.

HEAVY TRAFFIC!!! A lot of people on this hike and a lot of novice hikers so be cautious, but pretty easy accent couple steep switch backs but all in all took an hour up and an hour down at slow easy pace! Would recommend for dates or just a quick day hike.

Fun way to spend a hot day! Views from upper and lower falls are gorgeous!

Went the end of July, bug spray and watch out for horse flies.. Went over night hike, it was very enjoyable. We also started to do the other trail first the bald mountain trail, not maintained at all we got to
The point where you had to make your own trail. Also with fresh cougar tracks we were ok turned around about 3 miles into it. Yas the road sucks to the trail. No need for a forest pass although it’s always a good idea to have.

Doing the trail again nice little hike to do with friends and kids easy and enjoyable.

I went on the 4th of July. I lucked out with parking. Judging by the amount of cars, I considered not going but was able to get a parking spot at the trailhead. Based on the amount of cars, I was pleasantly surprised to not really meet up with too many people for the about the first mile. The rocks weren't as bad as the roots as people have mentioned. I wouldn't take little kids but I saw plenty trekking without a problem. I had a dog and encountered about 18 others throughout the day. All but one were on leashes. The mud greets you near the top. I'd say the last half mile. The worst part were the bugs at the top. I didn't notice them once I crossed the wood planked walkway. definitely be prepared. Beautiful, relatively easy hike. I'd defi do it again.
