To-Do All Kids Map

Nice terrain and some good views. You get to the trail by walking directly out of the back door of the visitors center. Not difficult by any means, but I felt the path was a little unclear. Not as many markers to keep you in the right direction like many of the other trails at the national monument.

Fun hike. Nice for beginners as it offers at least a bit of a challenge. Beautiful views.

Easy hike; great views. Got off trail tho....will have to go back!

we definitely got lost through here. and I mean LOST! make sure you follow the cairns and stick to the right. we ended up following a seemingly obvious path only to find ourselves climbing over boulders on the edge of a cliff... pretty wicked views though! if we wouldn't have taken that detour, it would have been a super easy and neat walk. highly recommend!

Really pretty. Crowded on Sat at the falls but not the longer trail. $7 day pass required.

nice trail off the main trail leads you thru the back country to the fish hatchery, bring you some water and get a good hiking stick

Falls are beautiful. Arrived early on a Tuesday in September and had the trail to myself. Squirrel trail follows a canal along red and white geological wonders. While the trails aren’t epic, the falls are worth the trip.

A great hike for children. My 3 & 5 yr olds enjoyed it and loved stopping for snacks on the plentiful benches.

Not as many fossils as I was expecting. Good exercise while on a long drive was nice.

This hike was a beautiful surprise to explore. The caves were a marvelous find as well, which are along the hike to the top of the falls. My teenagers loved this hike. We’ve visited many caves in the past all over USA and it is always “ look but don’t touch”. These were completely touch, climb and explore the many rooms. Bummed that we didn’t bring head lamps to get a better view of the roofs of the caves.

Great, easy hike for families and dogs! The kids loved the waterfalls and caves!

It is a very easy, small hike, and very busy with people traffic. I do agree with other hikers, that it very short distance to spend the day fee just for the hike. Would recommend if you have time to do one of the other trails as well or have a picnic while your here.

small parking lot and not a hike really. However a very pretty area to hangout and relax. Pretty crowded

Great hike, box like rock canyon at the end is shaded and cool after the hot hike. Definately bring some water!

really easy hike if u like the natural place and u take wheel chairs to the hike AND THE VIEW IS REALLY PRETTY

Very pleasant walk! The waterfalls are stunning and the caves are so much fun to explore! Much worth it!

Awesome views. Worth the trip but more of a walk than a hike

Beautiful trail with amazing rock formations! Easy enough for the kids but very hot out there bring lots of water even for this short hike.

The falls were pretty nice on this short, easy hike. There is a day use fee to come to this area so bring a lunch or something and do the small hike and then relax.

Very short walk. Well worth it. Pretty water, clean and relaxing. Surprising pleasant. Recommend

Nice little hike to a great rock formation. Well worth the walk up.

Beautiful views of Colo NM. Not terribly difficult. Easy terrain and lovely overviews of the canyon.

Nothing strenuous here. We actually drove 3 hours from Denver expecting a bit more. I do not think the coyote trail is 2 miles at all. Maybe if you include all of squirrel(which I think is a dead end) and bobcat too. We were disappointed in the hiking here. The waterfall is GORGEOUS and caves are cool for kids.

The vibe is a lot of picnic tables and about 8 camping pads. It’s $7 to get in. If you live in the area it would be nice for a picnic but nothing more IMO.

Easy walk to the view point. Didn't make it up to the alcove

Easy walk. Read about the first superintendent that climbed Independence Rock every 4th of July to plant an American Flag at the top. Heard voices and looked over to the rock and saw two climbers a short distance from the top

After dropping down following multiple switchbacks the trail forks and is an easy walk to the viewpoint. Great views

Trail wide and well marked until I got to where the trails leaves the wash. Saw only one cairn so I just followed all of the foot traffic which lead me way above the kitchen. Returned back done and figured out where the kitchen really was. The actual Devils Kitchen was awesome.

A great trail for easy hiking and sightseeing. I love the squirrel trail, especially where the creek ends into a very creepy cave! I’ve seen three snakes on the trails, and I enjoy the varying environments.

great hike to break up a long drive. we did this with 5 kids, ages 5 months to 8 years old plus 2 dogs. the drive up to the park was beautiful as well.
