An absolutely beautiful trail. We took it up to the Continental Divide Outlook. The views are amazing. There were a few icy patches but nothing to difficult to get through in normal hiking shoes.

We enjoyed our hike today but there was a lot of ice and snow on the trail. Crampons would have been very helpful.

It is a good hike with views along the entire trail. There are many rock formations along the trail where people stop to boulder. It is pretty steep on the way up, but was more gradual on the back side of the mountain. The peak was fairly crowded, even on a Wednesday. Overall I enjoyed the hike.

Awesome hike! Great views, great workout !

Great views! Definitely recommend bringing spikes for some areas.

Definitely recommend spikes. Snowy towards the end. Falls were frozen over which made the hike anticlimactic. Would recommend saving this for when it gets warmer.

Not so much moderate. More hard. Approaching the loop and heading to the right you have a slight grade for a mile which is deceiving. Boulders ahead! Pretty challenging for me and my Cattle Dog.

A great way to spend the afternoon. Took us about 3 hours. Great spot to see some foundation ruins from the hotel and nice views of the continental divide. Rock climbers all around. Super close to Boulder/West Arvada

Easy trail and well maintained... good workout distance wise with inclines not being strenuous compared to other hikes... not too many “ah ha” moments but lots of wildlife... saw deer , turkey, gopher (at least I thought that’s what they were lol)... saw about 10 mountain bikers and only 1 other hiker on a Wednesday afternoon... seemed more of an attraction for mountain bikes than hiking... minimal mud/ice and no need for traction when hiking

Very popular, mostly college kids and we were the oldest at 64 yrs. However I would not say it was moderate at all, but hard! High stepping up log”stair master “ and mostly knee high boulder climbing. Pretty views and really nice at the summit. Two hrs up and one to get down for us. Big wind gusts and temp drop coming down, but sunny. Ran into two rangers who said this should be labeled hard. Many dogs, so that’s always a plus! My dog loved it and worn out today! So if you are older with compromised knees, it will kick your butt. But we were proud to finish! Didn’t go down the other side as heard it’s still icy/ loose gravel in that side.

We only did a portion of the hike. The wind picked up and it got to be a little much. I would definitely go during the week. Parking was full in the lot and we had to park quite a ways down the street so that is the only reason for 4 vs 5 stars! I will be back to do the whole loop!

Great hike with beautiful views and not too challenging. The trail was quite icy in a lot of spots. I recommend bringing your crampons.

Wow! Windy and tough but a great snowshoe/winter hike. Snowshoes not necessary but helpful

Slightly icy in the beginning and towards the top today. Temperature was very warm 50F+ with the sun beaming down I had only a long sleeve on the whole time. Coming down the other side there was a ton of packed snow and ice. Would have been quite a bit more difficult without crampons. Try and get there pretty early as it can get pretty packed at the top later in the day.

Very crowded on the trail but I went on a clear day. Be careful going down the mountain as there was still plenty of snow and ice. I managed just fine without spikes but it would have made it a lot easier with them. All in all, absolutely amazing hike with a view that makes walking straight up for 2 miles feel rewarding.

Hiked up about two weeks ago, fun hike. It was pretty icy attempting to climb up to the cave but still doable. Once you get to the top the cave is fenced but you can look inside.

Excellent day! Wild basin trail was snow packed all the way up to Ozuel falls, only needed boots. We decided to keep trekking and loop back on North St. Vrain fire trail and this area had not been touched so snow shoes are necessary until you get back to wild basin trail. As seen in previous trail reports MOOSE are active in area we saw 3 in separate locations and a bull who did not want to be disturbed ! Careful and enjoy
P.S. upper trail head is closed in winter this adds about 2 miles to total.

Good hike on some packed snow. Gorgeous views! This is my second time doing this trail and it was just as fun the second time.

This was a great little hike out in Eldorado Springs. Since it’s a state park it’s an $8 entry fee, but totally worth it! There was a good little incline throughout the hike, but overall relatively easy. When up there, you can go off the trail a little and see the Continental Divide.

This was a nice trail, super icy today! It’s definitely a workout climbing up and around all the rocks but worth the view from the top. My dog had a great time running around too!

Well maintained trails. Great views right after the recent snow fall. Only saw 2 other people

On a clear day the views at the top are stunning! Took about 4 hours RT with a 30 min break at the top, so it makes for a perfect day hike from Denver. Overall a steady uphill climb but frequent places to stop and take a break. Trail is clearly marked as well. The loop back down is incredibly icy and shaded, so spikes/traction are a plus.

Gregory Canyon is in mostly good shape. Yak tracks helped with a few of the icy areas. Saddle Rock on the way down thought was steep with lots of ice and snow pack. Worst areas are at the top and near the ladder. I would not recommend trying Saddle Rock with just sneakers or anything without a lot of traction.

Absolutely awesome. Fun hike to do with friends.

awesome views, can be quite icy and slick. bring traction.

I ran Mt Sanitas today. There was minimal ice and even where there was ice, there was enough trail to go around. The sun was welcome as it warmed the body coming back down. It was a bit windy today, but not too bad.

Busy on the weekends but it’s a good hike. Not really any spots where dogs can’t make it. Be careful of ice along the East Ridge Trail though.

A good workout, and great for bringing the dog!

Excellent hike with our dog. We took a lot of breaks and we finished in 2.5 hours. Lots of people, but all friendly and respectful. There’s a small patch of ice near the halfway point on the valley side of the trail. We saw a lot of people fall and one woman broke her elbow so BE CAREFUL at this section! Other than that, a wonderful afternoon hike.
