Small lovely waterfalls with water holes- large enough to relax during the hot summer months. Great area to hike/take pictures any season.

Most of the trail was in the woods, but also had an open field which was really pretty. Awesome little pools of water from the creek flowing down to the river that was fun for my dogs to get in. Would hike again.

I loved this loop, there was the perfect mix of rock scrambles and easy trail hikes that I never got tired. Beautiful things to see and for going on a Sunday afternoon it really wasn't too crowded. Great hike!

it is more of a walk. when sunny, it is very crowded.

nice trail..great pics to come

Path had been flooded and nothing was really marked so I basically just stumbled around the woods for two hours and then got stung by a bee. That being said, the moss and ferns are gorgeous and I did see a cool purple mushroom.

Love this hike. Second time doing it Nd we went backwards which made it so much nicer. Great for the whole family (fur babies too) and lots of water for hot days!

First time hiking the trail, will definitely do this again

Great place to hike during the hot summer!

Love the rock scrambles. Easy enough for novice hikers that are relatively active, as well as our small dog. Started on the river trail which had the most of the scrambles, then to the ridge trail, then swamp. I think we were on the Difficult Run Trail as well at some point.

Great day hike. Enough to work up a sweat but enjoy a nice loop and some great views of the river along the way

This hike is really special. Just a beautiful walk along rocky hills, plunging (though small) waterfalls, and through lush forest and meadows. The “difficult” rating by the County Conservancy is probably accurate, but the trail is not too challenging; you probably want to be in decent shape if you expect to enjoy the entire loop, however. Lots of stream crossings and wet, slippery rocks, so bring proper footwear.

Very very overgrown! Made the mistake of continuing on when the trail became nearly non-existent and I honestly felt like it was the closest I’ll ever get to naked and afraid. We hiked through tons of thorns and poison Ivey. On the bright side, some parts have really pretty views, places to sit and it was a GREAT workout. Definitely turn around when the trail gets overgrown lol

this is a great place to hike! I've gone here a couple of times with my family and had a great time every time!

Great spots along the river and good bouldering cliffs. Very overgrown at beginning of trailhead (poison ivy)

This was a pretty easy trail. Beautiful views from the King and Queens seat, but that was the only view on this hike and it was right at the beginning. The rest is a long uphill stretch. Not my favorite hike, but it was nice.

This was one of our first hikes, we loved it, especially the multiple steam crossings!

Fun 4.6 mile trail. The swamp and ridge part of trail has a lot of tree cover and stays cooler even during summer days. The river side of the trail is rugged and can get hot due to comparatively less tree cover.

Good trail but you can easily add more distance by adding additional trails. The swamp trail is nice because I rarely see anyone else on it. It is perfect for avoiding all the crowds of the towpaths.

The trail and scenery are beautiful. I was a little taken aback by how many people there were wearing flip flops and carrying pool floaties though....I guess that's what I get for going on one of the hottest Saturdays of the year so far!

This was a beautiful hike. It's a little challenging at spots around the creek. I would suggest going through the meadow first and then looping around to the creek especially if it is hot outside.

One of the best in the area!

Some parts of the trail were hard to make out. We didn’t see a waterfall or mill. I would never take my dog on this trail.

Second time on this trail. Got a bit confused at one point. A lot of different colored trail markets at a creek crossing. Needed to turn right instead of left.

Great trail. The terrain is moderately rugged in some spots. One trail marker was on a felled small tree by the stream and I missed it. Ended up on a dead end trail but backtracked and got going the right way. This is a must-hike trail!

A truly awesome trail on a beautiful day. We seriously underestimated the waterfalls and the stream, which were the gems of the hike. The simple beauty of the open spaces, fields of wild flowers really, added to the experience. A great day!

Trail has potential but just not there markings are bad no sense of direction once in and on top of that way to easy to get lost I’m a evening day rider and just got home and it’s 1030

Been going here for over a year now! It’s a blast and usually isn’t too crowded! I usually follow the yellow trail to the white trail. This trail follows beside the water and then takes you up for a decent view of the water in fall when the leaves are fewer and more colorful. The white trail will take you back to the beginning of yellow trail and parking.
