Really easy, nice walk. Kind of confusing trails. Beautiful nonetheless

Great to see the bald eagle soaring above the lake.

Nice easy hike with my kids today. Beautiful view of Warrensburg.

Nice hike, but the trails are pretty confusing. Glad I read previous reviews so I was prepared!

Great trail, but confusing. We ended up on several different trails attempting to find the falls. Muddy with a little bit of snow left near the water. Kid, big dog, and small dog friendly.

They have this trail labeled as "Easy" but I would change that more to "Moderate" - I say that because it was excessively wet in a lot of spots. I did this loop in the Spring, so you do expect some wetness, but not to the extreme that I experienced. Also, a lot of the trails are uneven, due to so many tree roots. Don't get me wrong, I had no troubles, but for some people, and those with limited mobility, this would not be an "Easy" trail. If you stay on the same side of the road as the parking lot, it's relatively flat, but if you cross the road to the other side, you will be walking up hills, so for these reasons, as I mentioned, I would change the grading of this trail from "Easy" more to "Moderate". I noticed other reviews have mentioned that the trails can be confusing, and I would definitely have to agree with that. The trails overlap and criss cross throughout the Preserve, especially when you cross the road. Luckily, I had a GPS map of the trails with me, so it was much easier to navigate. I guess the highlight of the trek are the Falls. My recording of the trail has pics attached, and it will let you know where on the trail the Falls are, if that's all you're interested in.

This is a very clean and maintained path very nice and peaceful hike a lot of birds and animals along the way. Will do this hike again!

Walked the tow path down to Lock 19. Trail was in good shape. Plenty of people out enjoying a blustery day. Tons of migrating waterfowl.

Trail is easy and flat. Pics are misleading. The map ends in Ossining. The water spill is another 4 miles past the end of the trail on this app.

Sweet little hike to an amazing 250 ft waterfall. Stopped her for a quick jaunt to stretch legs on a road trip to Vermont. Plenty of parking at the trailhead. Highly recommend this

I had a hard time finding the trail head. When I did it was a a good hike still a lot of ice and snow. There is a nice stream and nice overlook. It was an moderate hike not hard

Not well marked on the farm side.

This hike was the completion of the Tupper Lake Triad challenge (third completion, 2 X Winter, 1 X Summer). This hike is one of those best bangs for the buck kinda mountains. When ever we have friends visiting who not not regularly hike, we take them on this hike.

Nice easy loop around a lake but not really strenuous at all. Nice place to walk the dogs or go for a jog. To get your heart pumping try some of the other trails at Rockefeller.

dog and i hiked this with a friend and it was very beautiful and nice and short. very icy! made a mistake in not wearing spikes but We survived. falls were beautiful

This trail is a joke not well marked

Easy little hike. Part of the Tupper Lake Triad. I did the three little mountains today. Easy trail with nice views at the top. About 2.2 miles round trip. Icy conditions today. If your using crampons (I did) it is a piece of cake.

This was a great winter hike. We hiked up the short/steep trail and down the longer/more gradual descent trail. it was very icy but with some spikes totally doable. Great views at the top for a short hike. Park in the designated trail spots up in the North Country school lot near the trailhead. We were told by a local that you will get a ticket if you park on the street.

Getting to the Preserve was pretty easy, I followed my navigating app on my phone.

The paths--and there are many--are pretty easy to identify. And there are markers, only the numbered/lettered ones are found on the map distributed at the Nature Center, making the map less helpful than I would have liked (which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5). Bring a good sense of direction...and a compass!

The walk/paths themselves are an interesting mix--there are a variety of environments to explore--wetland, forest, field, kame; terrain varies as well--dirt (today mud), grass, gravel, sand. Mud made the trail a little slippery at times, but this was otherwise a pretty easy hike. Nothing too steep. I met a few (very few) people on the trails; saw horseshoe prints in the mud, but no equestrians.

I couldn't stay, as there was a threat of inclement weather, but I will be back! Expect the place will be teeming with wildlife activity in the spring.

It was a beautiful day on this historic trail. It was so warm that I actually got sunburned.

Nice hike to the top of Skytop Mountain. The ascent is steady, but moderate, and it provides great views of Mohonk Lake and Mohonk Mountain House from the beginning. There are several gazebos on the way up, which provide nice resting spots to catch your breath and enjoy the view. At the top, there is a stone tower that provides excellent views of the surrounding countryside, including the Walkill River Valley and the Catskills. There are several cliffs very near the trail, so I would not recommend this trail to people with a fear of heights.

Just a warning, if you aren’t staying at the hotel, the hike is a little longer. They have you starting at the entrance to the preserve. But it’s worth it for the scenery and awesome views.

high of 25 and little to no breeze with some snow flurries, dog and I had fun on this hike..pretty icy in spots i would recommend some microspikes. lots of animal tracks to see and trails are easy to follow. Took the red trail and the further you go the quieter it gets ! easy hike with some small hills , it's also gorgeous in the summertime...
