Good views at the top but the climb to the top is brutal. It was also super hazy/smokey (not the trails fault).

If you are not in shape or don't enjoy hiking then find another trail. Bugs were not bad besides a fly surrounded my wife the entire descent. Total trip was 8 miles from phone app.

Honestly would not hike again.

It’s about two hours of sweat in the trees, but once you really start climbing - that little half mile stretch of a thousand feet in the middle isn’t the climb - this becomes an exhilarating hike. Summit Loop isn’t as maintained as the lower part because of less traffic. Be ready for a bit of scrambling. Went up on 17 Aug and had no issues with bugs. Still hazy and could only see the closest mountains. Bring hiking poles and at least 2 quarts of water. Not for the weak or faint hearted.

This is a yearly hike for me! Gorgeous views of Baker & Shuksan!!!

Fabulous afternoon hike, swam in 2 lakes and enjoyed the spectacular views.

Doesn’t get much better.

Trail is in good condition. Good hike on a hot day, mostly shaded. Not the best views on the way up. Awesome view at the top.

With each up and down, each bend traversed, all were meet with soaring mountain peeks, beautiful rock formations and gorgeous lakes scattered through out.
Between the spectrum of beautiful colors, the diverse changes of landscape ....I don't have the right words.to describe. This hike needs to be only experienced.
Good day, great hike!

A fantastic hike with amazing views of Mt Baker and 3 pretty lakes. Many patches of snow remains at higher elevations, but totally doable in hiking boots. Pack plenty of water and snacks & enjoy!!

Great adventure with the kids (7, 14, 16). 2 mile hike was fun going in. We enjoyed all the things people left to show us the way. Waterfall was amazing. We had fun splashing around the pool of water for a good hour before heading back. Beautiful! Enjoyed by all.

Hiked this on Aug 10. I would say it's an easy hike until you hit the boss creek towards the end. Took some courage to cross. Use water shoes and hiking poles to cross or hike up to the top of the creek and then cross. Once pass the fall, 10 min later you will see the amazing glacier. Be careful of loose rocks, that's the hard part of the trail.

Beautiful, fun but HARD hike

Great experience... Black bear encounter 1/4 mi into the trail... loud rustle in the bushes above us 2 hikers... Bear looked straight at us for a second, veered away above trail...adrenaline pumping.

4th water crossing around noon time challenging... water very loud, fast, and good downward angle.

Hiked to Cascade Pass the other day with my sister and dad. It was pretty special because my dad originally did the hike in 1968 - and 50 years later, he was able to do it again. It starts out in the forest in switch backs and then opens up to gorgeous views. After having lunch on the pass, we ventured a little further up Sahele Arm, which was definitely challenging in hot weather! Made it to the lake lookout and cooled ourselves by doing snow angels in some leftover patches. I would love to get back here next summer but quite a drive for me for a day hike - might end up being a backpacking trip! Amazing views, amazing hike. One I will remember forever.

Best hike we've ever done! This hike is really hard being its all uphill pretty much the entire way but the views are totally worth it!

Stunning views around every corner! My sister and I hiked on a foggy day which made for some amazing photos. The mountain run off made waterfalls all along the way. Towards the top, the wildflowers were popping out everywhere! It was gorgeous! Bring water proof shoes to cross the rapid streams! Trekking poles are also helpful.

The destination is the only good thing about this trail. But if it’s busy, it’s not going to be good. The swimming hole is very small with room for 4-6 people. So if you’re the only people there, awesome! Getting there.... you’re walking down a gravel road 90% of the time. I wouldn’t really call this a hike.

One of my favorites. Lots of fun to climb.

Beautiful great views of Roosevelt glacier
Be prepared to get your feet wet

Loved this trail, did it with my 4 children and all but one said it was their favourite hike ever. How’s that for a win!

This hike has it all. Ice melt Rivers to cross, glaciers to see, and unreal views of the Cascades and Mt Baker. I highly recommend this one and will be hiking it again very soon!

Great Hike Fun crossing the creeks.
Saw a few Marmots

Great views from up top
Bugs were pretty thick:)

July 28, 2018: The worst part of this trail on a sweltering July day is the exposed, steep mountainside of the last ~1,000 feet of elevation gain but it's inundated with wildfowers and butterflies so it's not all bad. The forest up til then is not crazy steep for the most part, and quite gorgeous to note. This is a rather uneventful hike, no obstacles or anything crazy to traverse.
Snow free. Bug spray is a must or they'll carry you off!

This trail is a better version of the stair master. Make sure to carry plenty of water, sunblock, and bug repellent.

Paved walkway very scenic, saw several different birds, had a few benches along the route to rest. Neat side across bridge leads to small wooden outlook. Also port a potty nearby that bridge.

July 28, 2018: Great solitary hike!

Road in decent condition, passable by car.
No snow, but there were quite a few downed trees to hobble over. Other than the downed trees this trail is easily navigable, straight forward, but it is steep and ruthless and wooded right up to the end. The shady nature of this trail is welcomed on a hot sunny day!

We were on the trail for over 6 hours and passed not one soul, which I found odd since it was a gorgeous day.

Overgrown trail loaded with black flies. once you break out of the valley and reach the pass at 5.0 miles, the climb gets steeper, then really steep :-) The views from the top are beautiful. The flowers were ok.....total miles logged was 11.

Beautiful hike! The trail has been well-groomed. The last creek crossing, past the climbers vs glacier view junction, was doable (you do need to walk in the water with a very strong current), but we knew the water level would be higher coming back. so we opted to go up to the climbers camp. Great choice! Although it was in-your-face steep, the wildflowers, snow waterfall runoff and cool breezes were spectacular! To top it off, we had fabulous views of the glacier. Lunch at the top; you got it, minimal annoying black flies :-)

Great first BIG hike for my 4 yr old son! I grew up hiking this almost yearly! We LOVE seeing the BIG hikers treaking towards PCT! THIS memory is still a pushing permanent desire that my 8 yr old son and I still hold. THAT day atop that endless vastness, BIG TEARS ROLL DOWN HIS FACE, he Whales "I WANNA KEEP GOING WITH THEM!"I promised to take him back....ALL THE WAY! In the meantime let's see what other hikes you can do buddy❤️
