Amazing hike! It’s not too long of a hike and it’s on a paved trail with dirt trails coming and going from it. The falls are amazing and your able to get right up too them. There’s a upper and lower fall. You can get down to the lower part but you have to be careful with the rocks! Beautiful views!

This is a beautiful trail, kid friendly. Short with some elevation gain. The waterfalls make it all worth it, we spent about an hour taking pictures and splashing in the pool at the bottom.

Waterfall is best part no surprise but hike is busy because it’s paved with all levels able to enjoy it. Mostly tree high Mountain View

It's a nice looking (though not very dramatic) water fall at the top of a fairly large ascent. The trail is easy in the sense that it's well paved, without any rocks to climb over. Just keep in mind that you are basically walking a ramp to the equivalency of the top of a thirty foot building.

It was great to see, along with all of the other folks hanging out up there, but I don't feel the need to ever return.

very easy hike I walked a 2 year old anyone could do it beautiful trail nice view

Very nice hike, very busy even though we went early. The waterfall is smaller than imagined but very nice area to sit and take the view in.

The trail is an incline until you reach the falls. The falls are spectacular! Very worth the trip. The trail is paved but it is not appropriate for strollers/ wheelchairs/etc. The paving isn't smooth. There are some steep drop-offs directly beside the trail as you near the falls (and at the falls) so be very careful with children. The trail was busy the day I went. I think it normally is, but it wasn't crowded to the point that it detracted from enjoying the day. Love this trail!

Hike after the first 1.5 miles was beautiful with awesome rock formations and lick creek running by us. we chose to visit after heavy rain so several water crossings were necessary. The falls were super full. Just FYI , 3 of us wore gps/ mileage trackers. This in and out trail is 7 miles total. I've sent a suggestion in to all trails to edit this.
Also, we went on a beautiful Saturday in December when it wasn't too cold. We were the only ones on the trail, very nice to have the place all to ourselves!

Probably the most people I've seen on one single trail! Falls are nice and don't worry, they're will be someone to take your picture when you get there!

Very heavy foot traffic. It’s about a mile to the falls and a mile back. Super easy hike and one to do with family/kids. It gets narrow as you come to the end, but nothing that isn’t manageable. The fall was pretty, but hard to enjoy because you practically had to wait in line to get to it, and so many people were crowded in a small place that it was almost dangerous. If I were to go back I would definitely go early. We had to park about half a mile from where the trail starts. There were some great spots to take pictures along the way though. It’s definitely a hike for all skill levels.

The Falls themselves are beautiful with some nice views along the way. Expect there to be people if you’re looking to get your picture taken.

I really enjoyed this trail. Not difficult and many interesting things to photo. And we did the trail in the rain!

Worth the hike up the mountain. The water fall was gorgeous and refreshing to see after the walk. Breathtaking views of the mountain from the top.

Beautiful hike with stunning views throughout! Quick and easy hike that is well worth your time.

Good easy beginners hike. All paved with slow grade up. Waterfalls was just another proof of Gods handiwork!

Amazing trail. Paved all along the way and wasn't hard. As a novice hiker, this trail was a great start. Waterfall at the end was beautiful. Lots of people though so if you want that solidarity and personal experience, it won't happen. But still enjoyed it! Saw a cub up close too!!

Wife & I did this hike after a day of heavy rain, and the falls were really pouring! Much heavier than in any of the photos we’d seen. Due to time limitations, we turned around at the falls rather than venturing farther down the trail to explore the old-growth forest.
Because the trail is paved due to heavy use, this hike can certainly be done in sneakers, although hiking boots to provide better traction are a good alternative.
Parking lot fills up fast, so arriving early is advised. No toilet at trailhead.

Set out to ride my mt bike on this trail, got about 1 mile in and was stopped by a lady that worked for the forest service. She informed me that there are only 2 trails in all the Great Smoky Mt National Park that available for mt bikers...Gatlinburg Trail & Oconaluftee River Trail. Trail head was not marked at all stating no mt bikes although it does state that on www.nps.gov. I would suggest All Trails remove mt biking in the filter section for all trails in National Parks!

There are a few amazing back country sites along the trail. The trail is very flat and well traveled with many spots to stop and enjoy the Little River however there is not much other than that.

You can shorten this trail and turn around at the bridge and waterfall (which would be about 2.5 miles). Beautiful walk along the river and all flat. We chose to continue on Little River to Cucumber Gap and then back on Jake’s Trail. Made for a nice 6 mile hike.

Went the day before Thanksgiving with our 3 and 7 year old boys. Like the reviews mentioned, it was quite busy. We parked in the loop before the actual parking area. It was an easy walk, just crowded. We enjoyed taking some steps off the trail to explore a bit, and sit on some rocks to just enjoy the beautiful views.

Beautiful and easy

Nice paved trail. It was good for the whole family. A little busy on Thanksgiving morning. Plan for an early start.

Easy hike! Get there early, it gets crowded by 9am. Please don’t bring strollers. This trail isn’t suitable for children under 7. It is paved but pretty narrow at some points. The waterfall is gorgeous and the views you get are nice. Plenty of good spots for photo ops.

There is nothing scenic about this road, unless you enjoy looking at mobile homes.

Fairly easy hike there and back although there are some slippery spots. Very pretty views and the falls are very pretty. There were a lot of people on the trail as it appears to be a very popular trail but worth it!

Easy walk worth the views took about an hour to go out and back and that was stopping several times for pictures.

Easy and by far worth the walk...

Nice for beginners

My wife and I took turns doing this on a rainy day. It was an easy hike with rewarding scenery and great fall foliage. Because of the rain, we each had the trail to ourselves. 40 minutes out and back if you walk fast—easy to knock off while your 2 year old explores the visitor center with your spouse.
