Beautiful hike! Quite a bit of snow, so hiking boots/snow boots are ideal footwear. Long hike, but falls were worth it!!

Beautiful moss covered everything with varied terrain. A great place test out some gear or break in new boots due to the varying terrain. I experienced gravel, dirt, water over rocks, moss covered paths, inclines, declines, lightly showered with water from waterfalls, etc.
Waterfalls of all shapes and sizes can be seen from varying angles and directly behind.
This includes some of the smaller day trails; definitely worth experiencing.
Plenty of parking available; five dollar parking for the day at south trail. Also, there is a picnic area, small cafe, and restrooms at the south trail entrance. There's some parking at the north trail, not nearly as much as at south trail. There is a single privy at north trail also.
Definitely recommend if in the area. Not to be missed.

Nice hike. Waterfalls are beautiful. Got a few peeks at Mt Hood. Took the northern path on the return, walked through shin deep snow mid April. Shoulda had our gators on with our waterproof boots :). Great hike all around.

Beautiful and moderate hike. It was worth to hike 10 miles. It rained and we were equipped. Wear waterproof hiking shoes, raincoat, and bring plenty of water and protein bars. We hiked this trail in March 2017.

Falls, falls and 8 more falls. This is one of the premier locations in Oregon for waterfalls per square mile. If you love waterfalls, a good moderate hike and Oregon greenery, this is a must see. Giant waterfalls all along the trail with some opportunities to follow the trail behind the falls. Great photo ops, and spots to stop, relax, and maybe eat some lunch. The only negative is the popularity of this State park. Lots of people on trail and many out of towners. Good excuse to meet some new people though. If you aren't into that, hit the trail early to avoid the crowds.

quite a bit busier than i was expecting, even after reading other reviews, but there is plenty of parking.

plenty of paths to choose from
plenty of sites to see
close to Salem
decent amount of people
but most are decent

Oregon’s finest trail besides the crowds!

This was an easy hike and I love that my fur baby was able to accompany me. There are clear signs of where to drive up to and park. It’s a clean and organized environment as far as parks and hiking trails go. A lot of the trails are paved with some that are more of a natural terrain. I saw people also biking on these trails. My little family went on the Mountain Trail and then the Horsetail Trail to loop back to the visitor center and parking lot area. It was a short loop of maybe 1-2 miles.

Beautiful hike. Awesome little log buildings with a cafe and fire place. Lots of people, and some trash on the ground throughout the hike. If you only have 2 days to live, do this hike before you die. Promise. 撚

Beautiful walk even in the rain!

This trail was fantastic. The views were gorgeous. The trail was an easy walk which, although a little wet, was wide and flat. There were little to no roots and my 3 kids loved it. The youngest is 6 and they weren't even tired afterwards.

LOVED this hike, but make sure you bring LOTS of water with you because it is such a hike! Went twice last summer and plan on going at least once every other week this summer =)

Went hiking up here mid afternoon in the summer and it was perfect.

One of the best hikes that I’ve been on but make sure to wear the proper shoes.

Great flow after a rain on snow event made this mid March hike truly epic. The falls on this hike are impressive from beginning to end. Easy to moderate hike, mid week is best for avoiding the crowds. Good coffee and food at the lodge

Always love coming here, weekdays are perfect if you want a less crowded experience! Be careful on the stairs and watch your head!

Beautiful views of the Gorge. It was not real muddy when we went. The soil is very clay like and it was very compacted down. My shoes were hardly dirty when we got back to the parking lot.
Just an FYI, the spot where the lower trail begins (the area that is closed off) isn’t well marked that it’s closed off. However, once you reach the waterfall, that’s as far as you’re supposed to go. The trail is not blocked off prohibiting you from continuing on, but that is where the forestry would like for you to turn around. This is a really great hike!

Great hike !! Kid friendly awesome water falls . We did the whole loop with our older kids and packed the baby on our backs and had a blast

This was a great park, there are many trails that weave around. When two trails intersect there are yellow signs that help guide you.
If your looking for a trail with no one else around this is not for you. It is pretty heavily trafficked but not over crowded.

Amazing hike!! Would highly recommend! It rained off and on the whole time but it made it even more beautiful.

Wife and I just did the loop yesterday. Beautiful walk. There were a lot of families along the trail and it seemed like even the young kids weren’t having any issues. Well maintained, well marked. We were prepared for a much more difficult hike, but all of the falls and the forest were such a great atmosphere that we really enjoyed ourselves. Casual walk, stopping for photos, a lunch break, and to converse with some folks- the whole thing took 3.5 hours.

A great family friendly hike. You can hike different sections if you are crunched for time or the whole Loop. I've done both ways several times. It does get very busy in the late spring and summer. Best time to enjoy it is on a weekday- less busy.

I wouldn't recommend this to avid hikers, but it's perfect for families and people who don't want a super strenuous hike or to have to go out into the wilderness. For someone who hikes/backpacks as a hobby, it was a nice walk through a park and if I remember correctly much of it is paved, so it's hard to call it a true hike. Physically felt more like 2.5 miles total. Still quite lovely, just depends on what you are in the mood for and it's a perfect place to introduce kids to hiking and nature!

The perfect spot for a long walk and lots of waterfalls. We took our time and hiked this easy loop for about 3 hours.

Beautiful hike, think the distance was about 8.5 miles, but certainly didn't feel like that when there's beautiful waterfalls to see so frequently. Some parts of the trail were pretty muddy, so my waterproof hiking boots were appreciated (leave the runners at home)

Wide open area at the top with fabulous views of Helens, Hood and Cascade Range. Lots of forests around the base with smooth dirt trails. A very nice new entrance with parking lots, bathrooms, water fountains, benches, information and sculptures. Trails range from paved, to gravel to dirt. Horse trails too so watch out for piles! Busy on nice days but so many trails to chose from!

Love this place! So beautiful.

Hiked this trail a number of times, and it is one that is relatively easy at most points but has a few rough spots if you're not careful. Great view of the Gorge.
