Nice view of the ocean and some mountains.
Basically just a straight, flat walk on a well kept gravel/dirt road. lots of people on a sunny day.
decent selfie spot at the end of the jetty. :p
shade structures every km or so.
pretty easy trail for everyone.

A good winter hike. only small patches of snow on the flat valley bottom portion of the trail. lots of hikers. Moderate hike easy walking but a good distance 17km from parking lot.

Nice walk with great panoramic views of sea to sky. Great plane and wildlife spotting activities. Saw some bald eagles, otter, and a bunch of water birds.

One of the toughest hikes I have done ! Great work out , I did it in 44 minutes

We did the trail just past summer, absolutely amazing! We wrote a comprehensive daily review of our trip, please see our blog for the full post - http://hktreks.com/index.php/2018/08/03/west-coast-trail-hike-fact-tips-itineraries-and-planning/

listed as difficult it's not. good views

We hiked the WCT for my 50th birthday from south to north and are just planning to do it again this year! We did it in 6 nights, it was hard but so rewarding, I don't think there is a more beautiful place to camp then on the beach every night with the sunsets that never end. I trained by doing a lot of stairs and walking everyday and had no problem doing the ladders or hills. My husband dislocated his shoulder on day two going through Owens point (we had a log that rolled when going through the boulders) but he was able to put it back in place himself, I just screamed! Anyhow do it - what are you waiting forI Just be prepared and don't overpack, thats the biggest complaint we heard from people. I have a bad back and my pack was 25 lbs and my husbands was 40 lbs we still left food at Chez Moniques as we took too much. Make sure you have good hiking boots and most of all enjoy the journey, yes you can do this in less time but then you have no time to enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way.

It was hard and very exciting!!! My son is 12, daughter 8 and baby girl is 9 months... but we did it!!!

did this trail when I was 15 with my uncle. go light get ready for some massive staircases at every river. The hardest most rewarding thing I've ever done

Hike this trail today. Trail conditions are still very good. There has been a dusting of snow which starts about 4 km in on the trail. The temperature was quite cool 3c some icy spots also. Many people starting up the trail very late, many not so prepared. All in all, great hike.

Hiked on Dec 8th! Not enough snow to snowshoe but the trail gets very icy the higher up you get. We didn't have spikes or crampons but definitely bring them if you have them. Many areas were inches of solid ice hidden beneath a dusting of snow so it was very sketchy and there was a lot of slipping. It was still a fun adventure! On a clear day I imagine the view is still spectacular (but it was super cloudy for us).

Hiked yesterday. There is snow along the entire trail. The trail was packed down, so there was no need for snowshoes. It was quite icy and slippery. Wearing spikes would have made the hike much easier and safer. The view from the top was stunning.

This was an awesome short trail run. The uphill climb was pretty vertical, but the downhill was a decent grade and fairly soft underfoot. Overall the trail was easy to follow. Anytime I needed a hint on direction there was always an orange trail marker in sight. The only confusing spots were when the trail was changed and the detours didn’t seem complete (orange tags on the old trail, and lack of some logs blocking the old path), but a little map checking and it was easy to figure out.

great Trail for a half day hike with some good conditioning and what A View From The Top. Outstanding restaurant and bar to relax in when you're done. Perfect playground in Vancouver's backyard

Beautiful Hike better to go early morning. We crossed the border and was at the trail head by 5:30 am.
We went mid October no snow sun was out. Trail marked very well, but at the beginning hard to see in the dark even with our head lamps. But as you enter the parking lot the trail entrance is to your left. I brought the dog..she loved it.
For sure will go again.

What a hike!
Beautiful drive to the trailhead; well maintained roads and no snow.
The trail is very well maintained and has multiple outhouses throughout the trail to the the lake, as well as some at the lake in the Campground areas.
There was no snow at the beginning of the hike, but it didn't take long before we hit snow. The snow was dry and crunchy so it was not too slippery on the way up, I did use (and highly recommend) microspikes on the way down.
It is a decent climb up, definitely gave my legs a good workout! We started on the trail around 930am and made it to the lake camping area right around 1230/1240pm. Had a quick snack and some tea in the shelters (so cool that they have these!!) before heading back down. We hustled back down in 2 hours (thanks microspikes!).
The lake was absolutely beautiful and the blanket of snow made everything feel quiet and peaceful. I will definitely do this one again!

I’ve done it a good number of times. The best workout ever if you’re up to the challenge.

Left the lake at about noon on Sunday. There is about a foot of snow at the lake and about as much at Taylor meadows. The trail is clear from rubble creek up until about the 4 or 5 km mark. After that it’s pretty well packed snow. Can be a little slippery so boots with good tread or spikes are a good idea if you want to make it all the way to the lake.

nice view but steep

Amazing views at the top. Worth the pain getting up there. Your legs will burn.

Great trail - we were not expecting the trail to be so well maintained. There’s a couple outhouse bathrooms along the way. The lake at the end was stunning. Just a little bit of frost and ice on a couple parts of the trail today but no big deal at all.

Absolutely gorgeous. Constant elevation so packs were a little grueling but well worth the reward

Just did it yesterday, some parts a bit slippery, very good view!

Great workout! The first quarter is the hardest to me.

Done this twice now while visiting Vancouver, love it!!! Second time, half way up I was wondering why I was doing it again, but worth it once you get to the top.

Great little family hike. Thanks Clara M for the helpful pointers. Will do it again!

Absolutely stunning view. Went in the middle of November. It was chilly and icy. But soo worth it! My favorite so far

Hiked from Heather Meadows - lots of snow but still totally worthwhile and doable (note that there were lots of tracks from groups prior, so we never had difficulty trying to find the trail). Would recommend getting up there if the weather is nice, otherwise look forward to the flowers in 2019.
