TO DO! Map

We parked near the trail head. Sun and snow made beautiful pictures. Creek runs on the side of the trail. We turned around half way, because couldn’t cross the river. Main waterfall is very pretty, however more people. While hiking to Waterfall was not a sole on a Sunday. Going downhill on way back.

I was looking for a trail during a solo Kings/Sequoia 3 day trip and wanted to look into a nice hike I can spend majority of the day with. I picked Mist Falls over all the other trails because of the end point being a nice waterfall. Growing up near Joshua Tree NPS I anticipated the trail to be fairly barren (meaning not much to look at) until the end of the trail but this trail proved otherwise and not disappoint! The first chunk of the trail has light shade and is fairly flat, then you shift into a denser forest before you get granted with a nice walk along the Kings River. The overflow from the river does feed into the trail, which forces you to maneuver a bit more off trail expected but it was easy to find your way back. Dense forest goes into fairly open canyon stone trail with a bit of elevation gain that increases in intervals. The last mile of the trail does get a bit strenuous if you're not careful with heat and your own pacing. The waterfall, however, does not disappoint and you're treated with a nice view of the canyon.
Round trip took about 5-6 hours including a short picnic at the end of the trail. Waterproof hiking shoes and bug spray are highly recommended!

Good short hike with beautiful views.

Shorter hike with amazing payoff. I don't know that I have ever seen such an amazing 360 degree view. I have been to Moro Rock more times than I can remember. Any time someone comes into town for a visit this is the first place I take them. A hike for all ages. Stairs all the way up and around the rock to the top. The views along the way are also beautiful! Two cons about this hike is that you are taking stairs all the way up, a little less than a half mile, and then it can be very crowded. But TRUST ME! It is so worth it.

This is a great trail from Fall until hit starts hitting the 90s. It's even better after a light snow. Full trail starts at Cedar Valley but if you want a shorter hike then there is another trailhead further up HW41 that is about the halfway point to red rock falls at the end of this trail.

Good hike, great view of Milliton Lake all corners..if you can go all the way to Big Ben!

Great work out hiking trail..it’s kind of hard finding the trail head once you are on the road, you need to pass through two gates before you can say you found the trail head..,first gate is the first one where you park your car, then head on that road until you came across a junction on the left, this road is as big as one you are walking on, take that road you should see a gate, you are now in the right path, continue up hill until you are on top..good luck!

Beautiful trail. Parking was not clear. I did not complete the entire loop. Will definitely do this trail again! I did this trail 3 weeks ago. Just now writing the review.

so pretty, especially with the light snow we got covering the ground!

We took my 3yr old and a 6yr old friend.
I was fine starting out but if you have issues with heights be prepared for a few tough descents. I froze several times trying to get over metal grates. The kids had a great time, we made it to the water for a picnic and a little rope free boulder climbing. The views were great, the breaks were many. Bring plenty of water, or something to purify with.
Start early and enjoy the peacefulness, if you’re out on Saturday be prepared for taking turns walking down the metal grates.

Loved this trail! The views were amazing. Lots of inclines, definitley got my heart pumping.

Brr! A little snow on the trail. Stunning frozen falls.

This is a fire road with a steep climb but the view from the top is amazing

Was a very nice hike. Didn’t feel as long as it is. We did have to deal with some snow flurries early on but worth it!

Awesome views!

Crowded but worth the view.

Beautiful trail. Some steep inclines but manageable with rest areas, maybe too steep for little ones. Wooden balcony/lookout point with benches at water fall/midpoint.

Beware! People are allowed to shoot guns 30 yards away from the top of the loop. Not knowing wtf was happening, we literally ducked for cover behind some rocks and called 911. The sheriff said shooting is legal there as long as they are not shooting at you!

We grabbed the dog and ran. Unbelievable.

My friend and I were out here the other day at about 7pm. I’m glad I had my headlamp because it was pitch black. There was no moon out but the stars looked amazing! When we arrived, there was one couple in one of the pools and some tweeker in the small rectangular pool. Since it was later in the day and completely dark, my friend and I got naked and we sat next to the tweeker (hahaha). Please note, my friend and I are larger (fluffy) guys so when we sat in the rectangular pool, the water overflowed to the other pools (too bad the tweeker didn’t float on over..). About an hour later, the couple there had departed and my friend and I made our way to that pool, leaving the tweeker alone in a half empty pool (hahaha). We stayed for about 2 hrs gazing at the stars and just floating naked in the hot pool. This was our first time coming here and it was a great experience for the both of us. We would definitely do it all over again. The map on this app was great to use especially since my phone reception had stopped working. The hike down to the pools was a breeze; however, for two fluffy guys heading back up the trail, it was an adventure.

We did this hike as a family with the kiddos...trail length is actually over 5 miles but super flat and easy kids really enjoyed it. Also the flys are NO JOKE!! they sure are buzzing around a little annoying at times but we got through it.

We did this hike. There seem to be many starting points. We took one that was more than moderate in difficulty. It was also very steep going down. I thought it was a fun and beautiful hike down to the rock waterfalls. I definitely would not take my kids or dog on this trail. However, I would do the hike again. Lots of bugs.

Scary ?

We started on Cedar Valley Dr.. nice hike not to crowded in the am but got busy as the day went on.... A few changes in elevation other then that pretty easy .. waterfalls were pretty cool

If you love grand views of mountain ranges and valleys than the summit of Moro Rock trail will not disappoint you. The hike is extremely crowded, and parking is scarce but the fight to get the top of this short 0.4-mile trail will be well worth it once you finally see the view. This trail has some slight rock climbing which helped add a little more character.

First hike ever on this trail. Loved it ❤

Great steep trail!

A nice long hike. Lots of snow and a little scetchy near the falls.

The hike was really nice! There's about 3-4inches of snow on most of the trail so be prepared. The waterfall was frozen too, but still so pretty!
