wouldn't bring your dog if you want to go all the way to the top, still an awesome hike to the saddle though.

Great trail, saw 3 rattlesnakes

Loved it, not a lot of people around. Will definitely do this again.

Modest elevation, good surface on trail, and lots of nice views. There is an entrance fee, but worth it.

Really easy trail with amazing views and up close ruins.

LOVE this trail! It's long and somewhat challenging with the ever present incline. The scenery was amazing. The trail was very dog friendly. Definitely worth going all the way to Massacre Rock. The trail does get pretty narrow in places and a little steep here and there but nothing above a moderate rating. We did lose the trail once and got started down a different trail going the wrong direction so use your map if you can. There were many places where the trail would split and meet again on the other side of a rock. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. We did not see any waterfalls but could tell where there would be waterfalls if there had been heavy rain. Everyone we met on the trail seemed very friendly. Definitely plan to go back.

I really loved this hike. Gorgeous views pretty much the whole way, and we only saw a handful of people. We did it clockwise and it started off with an incline but then was fairly steady with up and down inclines. I def think it would have been harder counter clock wise!

Nice slot that conveniently merges with buckskin gulch. Use the alternative way around the 8ft drop which was nice. The drop wasn’t bad but had a lot of camera gear and didn’t want to chance it

I loved this trail! I took Tortuga, Elephant Mountain, and Spur Cross Trails. Made it all the way to the top! Great views up there and a worthy challenge! I will come back again that's for sure!

Quick and easy trail with a bit of history and remnants of foundation of buildings that once stood.

In a nice, protected area. No man made distractions.
Trail well maintained and marked. Seemed to be popular with equestrian and bikers, but not congested in the least.
Note: there is an entrance fee to the park ($6 for my day pass)

Wonderful trail. Great for trail running, biking or hiking. No too difficult but you get a good workout! I started at the Overton TH to the GJ trail. Hiked north up GJ to catch the elevation. Nice views. Some homes. Some people. Not too many. Definitely will do again!

Great scenery !

Exceptional hike, very easy until the 7’ foot drop. But it looks much harder than it is! An easy climb up and down and we had a dog with us. Buckskin gulch was amazing. We only hit one patch of water but easily passed using the rocks. Very little traffic.

Hiked this with my two teen daughters this morning. The weather was beautiful and even though there were lots of camps and trailers for ATVs on the way to the trailhead, the trail wasn't busy at all. We passed one side by side in the wash and met two ladies at the check point, that's it. Great hike and just challenging enough to feel like you've really accomplished something. Only downsides are that I don't love walking through sandy river bed and when much of the trail is ATV paths but since it was quiet, it was alright.

There's a boulder and about a 7 foot drop halfway down the first slot. I didn't think I could do it alone with just my dog but it's easy to hike back to the opening and go up to the right and bypass it. This hike was my consolation prize for never winning the wave lottery month after month.

I wasn't able to complete this hike due to crossing the river (didn't have the right gear) however I will be back!!!

Fun trail, easy to moderate. Good views

I call this hike “a Walk In Heaven.” I have always hiked this in the wash. Caution not to do so during monsoon season for risk of flash flood. Large animal tracks - you won’t be alone! A very special place. Lisa B.

This is my go to work out loop! I start to the right. Great views. If you have extra time continue on the trail pass the loop sign and the views just get better.

The views are nice and the trail is moderate to easy. The trailhead is not at the point that is marked in the map and the length is closer to 9 miles than 6.5.. Also the trail is poorly marked at many points. We enjoyed it in general and the small beaches were a delight.

Great trail. Challenging at times. The distance is way off. 6.64 miles to the base of the falls. Even without water at the falls it is a good hike. At a couple spots it was difficult to find the direction of the trail but if you pay attention not too bad. Will be back out here again for sure!

Beautiful hike, all the quartz was very cool, scenic, quite easy short hike

Great as always!

easy, nice views. Can be done in a 2 wheel drive. Busy road. alot of others out for the scenery also.

Nice hike with great view. Went on a weekday and not busy. Easy side of moderate with a steady gradual incline. Decent overgrowth in some areas. Great for dog paws, just watch for cholla. No facilities at trailhead. Dirt road to trailhead was no issue.

Possibly my all time favorite dayhike. I recommend going all the way out to the tip of the right fork of the 'horseshoe', adding a little under a mile each way. Its all flat so it doesn't expend too much energy to accomplish. It gives you a far better view of the inner canyon than at horseshoe mesa, plus you can get a glimpse of the Colorado River. There is a mostly established trail that runs out to the right through group campsites and eventually to the tip of the horseshoe. I've done this trail twice now and wish I'd known to do this the first time rather than just stopping and turning around at the horseshoe mesa sign! Completed this past Sunday, Feb 25th- still a good amount of snow near the rim and for the first mile or two of the hike, where the trail gets little sun.

Nice, easy trail

nice trail we some good views. well maintained and some good elevation change but not too strenuous.
