Really cool trail. The scale up is pretty fun and the caves are a really interesting sight. Not rocky and not particularly hard.

nice climb, never run into other people

Came here at sunrise for a grand view of the valley. Not too crowded, definitely worked hard to get up there. Would recommend poles.

Beautiful views of canyon Lake.

trail running

Great for trail running!
First half is a bit loose and rocky so watch your step if you’re running through. Great little climb up the granite ridge in the middle with a perfect spot to take a break, have a snack, enjoy the view. Back half is gorgeous to run through and connects to another trail if you want to take it further.
First bit and top of the ridge can be busy on weekends.
Parking is limited so get there early.

Great hike! Beautiful views and smells! All the recent rain makes everything so vibrant. Be careful on the way down, there is a lot of loose gravel and it can cause you to slip if not wearing proper hiking shoes.

Another great hike. One of my favorite trails in the Scottsdale area!

This trail was so amazing. I’m new to hiking and towards the top got pretty difficult but I pushed through and the view was just stunning!

Beautiful hike! The first mile is the hardest.

Short hike. Took only about 10 minutes to climb up but the views are still stunning. A hike that almost anyone can do.

Excellent hike with just enough uphill climbing from the get go and steady to the top. Totally satisfying.

Did this with 2 kiddos no problem, pretty views and fun switchbacks.

Nice trail a bit busy but no issues. Nice views and a nice varied terrain. Good gripping shoes a must saw a few people slip while decending. Trail is clearly cut and easy to follow. Will return soon. Travel safe.

This trail was gorgeous, and its easy to see why it was so popular! That said, the Hidden Valley portion of the trail should be for VERY experienced dogs only, as there's a fair bit of scrambling and difficult areas to climb up. We had to carry our dog across a ledge at one point, and when we decided to turn back for her sake we ended up needing to put her in a lap and slide down a boulder. She's 45 pounds, so a bigger dog might have had an easier time with it, but I do NOT recommend the Hidden Valley trail for dogs!

Very narrow trail the higher in elevation you climb, very popular trail. Do jot recommend bringing your dog due to the very close quarters on the trail, there are times were you have to step aside to let the hikers coming down by, very irritating when u have a pet especially when other dogs aren’t trained properly or are unfriendly, great view at top again crowded and have to wait to get a photo, recommend going during the week.

Love this trail! The trail is well maintained, great for all ages and has easy to follow signs. The trail was pretty crowded, we saw two bikers and many people brought their dogs. Make sure to bring water for your pups (and yourself) because there is no water at the trailhead.
The parking lot by the trailhead has ample parking and restroom facilities. The restrooms do not have running water but they do have hand sanitizer. There is no entrance or parking fee.
If you get cold easily, I recommend bringing a hat or ear warmers because the hike is windy towards the top.

Good trail, however, very rocky. It was harder coming back down due to the rocky path. Had to stop for the beautiful views due to uncertain terrain.

We did Pyramid trail and instead of heading back to the parking area we followed to national trail then to the roadway which leads to telegraph trail and ran/walked back from the parking area on dessert foothills to the parking area on east chandler blvd. (approximately 4kms extra). the telegraph trail is quite busy but it offers different scenery rather than just hiking up pyramid and turning around! Pyramid is great, starts easy then has some good switchbacks which offer a decent workout with great scenery and views.

Hiked this for a second time and loved it! Definitely one of the more scenic hikes in the PHX area.

This is a great hike and accommodates various skill levels. A few difficult areas with a bit of scrambling but an overall moderate rating. If you are scared of heights there may be a few challenging spots for you. Beautiful as a sunrise hike, quite shaded for the majority. If you continue all the way you will end up on an expansive Mesa with stunning 360 degree views, I didn't want to have to come back down. A little difficulty navigating signage on the plateau, other than that this one is definitely worth the work getting to the top.

Awesome place to visit

Agree with others here. Moderate hike labeled hard because of steep gravel cutbacks, but this is not camelback. First 1.4 miles miles to “vulture view,” the most steep then some up and downs til peak. No significant rocks climbs or scrambles. Hiking shoes and poles helpful. Nice views all around.

Aggressive climb and decent but worth it the whole way. The views are impressive to say the least. Well worth the effort.

Great trail! I’ve done it a few times. Gorgeous views. The trail isn’t super long and hard, but towards the end (about the last .25 mile) it gets really steep. I would recommend wearing shoes with good tread for going up and down the steep section.

This was fabulous! I will say that the last bit of the hike was very hard. We found ourselves crawling/climbing over rocks to get to the cave. Once we were to the top though, it was breath taking!

Nice hike! Definitely a good workout but it’s not extremely difficult. Add on an extra mile by heading to The Lookout (follow signs that are close to the thumb). Excellent views and you’re away from the crowds.

great views, really good workout.

Loved this one!!

Great hike, gets the heart going with the climb. I would call it Moderate, even Easy, not Hard. Not handicapped easy, but active adults should have no problem. Bring your poles.
