Great hike! Strenuous but worth it for the views

Amazing Hike Loved it!!!

Lower trail is in great shape, however the upper portions have many burned trees. Some trees are blocking the path, as well as 2 spots where recently uprooted trees are a bit sketchy to move around. One is at a water crossing, and there is a 5 foot hole right where the trail was prior to the fire. Point being, be careful, especially if you have little guys traveling with you.

Tough son of a B, so rewarding! Awesome cliff side views at the top of you stay to the right. Then you get a wide open field for campin out at the top (if you stay left when you get to the top you get to the wide open spots quicker.. so If you’re getting there late to set up camp.. stay left lol then check out the rock side views in the daylight) definitely would recommend trekkin poles!!

The Little Grand Canyon nevera disappoints!

Wonderful hike with an incredible reward at the end. Highly recommended!

Quick hike. Great view of waterfall at the overlook, and a nice water crossing towards the beginning. Not much foot traffic, with easy parking access.

I did this hike on Sunday, March 4th, my second time doing this hike, the weather was great! TI really enjoyed this trail. It is an easy hike with a beautiful waterfall. Huge boulders all covered in moss. The waterfalls falls into a gorge. We had just had rain last week so there was plenty of water at the falls. I got some great photos which I have uploaded.
After passing thru the gate you will go hike thru 4 wildlife fields. There are several creek crossings. The first creek crossing there are no rocks so expect to get your shoes wet. All of the other crossings there are rocks or tree limbs for crossing. After the 4th field the trail is in the right corner of the field. The trail is not marked and there are several more tributary of Tamassee Creek along the way. At one tributary the tails goes left and less traveled trail to the right, "be sure to go left and cross the creek". Be sure to stay left of the creek, whenl you get within 300 - 400 feet of the falls, at this point you have to pick your way thru the rocks and boulders to get closer to the falls. Be sure that you are on the left side of Tamassee Creek to get to the falls.

Directions from Travelers Rest, SC -- from SunRift Adventure parking lot, travel on 276 to Hwy 11
Go 44.7 miles from Sunrift until you turn right onto Cheohee Valley Road

from Cleveland SC US Post office you will travel another 34.9 miles
from the Moorefield Memorial Hwy/Hwy 11 intersection you will travel another 19 mile
At Cheohee Valley Road there is a brown sign on the left side of Hwy 11 that says Piedmont Forestry Center, SC Forestry Commission.

Turn right onto Cheohee Valley Road.
Go 2.1 miles and turn left on Tamassee Knob Road
Drive another 0.50 miles and turn right on Jumping Branch Road
Then another 1.5 mile to the second dirt/gravel road, it is not marked but you want FS715A
Go approximately 0.7 miles to a dirt parking area on the right just before a concrete bridge. You will see the gate and fields.
The path immediately goes into the field past the gate.

Have fun!

Great hike, definitely strenuous at parts, but the views from the rocky cliff is quite spectacular! I would love to go back and camp out there - they have some great backwoods camping spots!

I gave this 3 stars because of the careless dog owners! And the lack of posted leash laws! We have pets and always keep them on a leash! Some people seem to think they are above the rules because it’s a national forest! The rules are posted but in only one place! Not every dog likes every human or other dogs! Two large dogs run up on my little girls with no owner in sight! Not a pretty site! This is really crazy! They could have hurt my dogs or one of us! People need to get with the program or stay home! Forestry people in N.C., you need to enforce your leash laws! Graveyard Feilds has always been one of my favorite places! As of now we will not be returning due to the lack of the lash laws! Some human or their pet is going to end up getting hurt! Remember your dogs aren’t the only pets out there!!! I’m done!

The trail length is around 5 miles total. Pretty hike.

As always a great Mountain to climb.

Long and at times fairly steep but well worth it. Great views!

One of my all time favorite hikes. This waterfall is absolutely amazing!!! Worth every step. If you are thinking of doing this trail. DO IT!!

Stunning views! Couldn’t believe this was Georgia!

We had a great time hiking up 2 Laurel Falls.

Not a good trail for dogs! Could not cross the cable bridge with a dog.

The view is Amazing!!!

Loved this hike! I took my German Shepherd and it was a great mix of hills and flat area!

My daughter and I hiked this tail yesterday, beautiful sunny day, 55 degrees! We started at the Bad Creek parking lot and hike to the top of Whitewater Falls and back. It was a nice hike we enjoyed it.
Beautiful falls, well worth the hike!!

The trail to the falls was paved and super easy. Also crowded. Past the falls is a steeper trail through the woods. In winter you can peak through the trees at the valley below. The top there is NO view and the “tower” is closed. It’s a research ozone tower type deal. Fun, quiet, and peaceful hike. Good moderate level.

Best views and hiking you can get in South Georgia.

Awesome easy trail!

good trail w/ nice view at the top. steady incline almost the entire way. not the best on blazes would be the only complaint. it was actually 4.7 miles round trip too, according to my hiking app. once you reach the peak, the best sight is to the left were a handful of trees have been cut.

Amazing hike! It was challenging but worth the view a the top. There are bathrooms towards the top but I would not recommend using them as they are gross.

Crabtree falls is the hidden gem of blue ridge parkway. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. It is less than three miles all together and is dog friendly. The hike is slightly more challenging when the rocky trail is wet, but still easy for a “strenuous” trail.

Beautiful hike, and not overly difficult....moderate rating is accurate. The falls are amazing especially when frozen over. The forest road getting there is rough and potentially muddy. Drive a vehicle that’s not low to the ground. Four wheel drive is helpful.
