We went up from the dog park and BOY WAS THAT A STEEP GOOD CHALLENGE!!!!

Nice and steep

Great trail! Today was perfect with the overcast and the dogs even enjoyed themselves. ☺️

Best hike I have been on if I'm going with a water destination in mind. It's beautiful, fun, and a great workout. Going down is a piece of cake, opposed to coming back up. I wouldn't recommend going when the weather is over 100 degrees, because the hike back up to the top can be very exasperating. If you make the hike in weather that's hotter then you would like for a hike, I can't tell you enough times to hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more. I've been to this particular location about 5 or 6 times. Early winter isn't tooo bad, but the water crossing is extremely cold around that time of year, but it's so worth it. In any weather it's worth it. I will continue to go again & again, at all times of the year. Great hike to hang out at for the day.

I met the coolest people on this hike!

Was a nice hike. Takes you 30 minutes to get out there (downhill) and an hour to get back (uphill). Like the gatekeeper said, “It’s so easy a 10 year old could find it.” Although I HIGHLY don’t recommend taking your kids. After getting used to the nudists it was an enjoyable hang out spot. Everyone was friendly and we all had a blast. The springs were hot and it was nice to take a dip in the cold water down below. There was also a little swing that people were using to jump into the creek. All in all, make sure to be prepared because the hike is steep, brings lots of water, and a no judgement mentality. Just have fun! Happy hiking!~

Nice trail a lot of people but definitely enjoyed it.

Went on this hike just today, and it's partly covered with snow at points with lots of mud and wet spots. About a third to halfway through the hike, footing gets to be a problem with the snow and collapsed trail. But after the first half, it's smooth sailing.

This is my go-to trail when i wake up to nice weather. It’s nice for all ages, stroller friendly, and pet friendly. There is a paved trail wrapping up the mountain but you can also hike straight up the side if you like. It does get crowded around 10, so I try to go earlier if I’m planning on running. But even when it’s busy, there is usually plenty of parking at Ryan bonaminio Park.

BOO!! It's Monday morning 8am and the gate is closed!! B.S.

Very beautiful scenery! I went on a side trail that took me right to the path for the falls. The path straight up to the falls was kind of difficult due to big rocks along the trail. I suggest getting hiking boots; I slipped a few times. Might also be a bit harder for those that don't hike often but it's manageable. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Very rocky. Not dirty. Waterfall area crowded. For what should be an easy trail it’s quite rocky.

Big parking lot. 95% of the hike to the falls is uphill. Very little shade. Waterfall area is pretty. Wear good shoes because it is a very rocky path.

nice day hike, easy going with great views. Add Vincent's cabin to finish the day.

We hiked this for the first time today and enjoyed it.
Distance- about 2.5 mile
Time- took us about 1 hr. (we ran down)
Parking- free (yay) and easy (yay)...less than a 5 min walk from the trail at Ryan Bonaminio Park
Path- wide and paved (could even bring a stroller) and dog friendly
Sights and Views- cool bridge w/tower and large white cross at the top with terrific 360° views of surrounding hills/mountains
*why not 5 stars? not really an escape from civilization with surrounding neighborhoods, lots of people, and highly manicured terrain

If you enter through Bowen Ranch beware of the gate keeper. He had a mental break down with my boyfriend and I after I accidentally rolled through the stop sign and had to reverse back 8 feet to his window. He WENT off and was unbelievably condescending and disrespectful. I don’t have time to transcribe his rant here. He also asked us if we brought car camping gear or backpacking gear. We said we brought our backpacking gear to car camp with. And he once again LOST IT. He heard us say “backpacking gear “ and assumed we were going to break the rules and not car camp. Aside from the behavior from this man, the springs were gorgeous and the trail was well maintained but steep. Bring a headlamp if you think you might be cutting is close at the end of the day.

Mt. Rubidoux...a favorite! LOTS of options to get to the top. We like to take the trail that starts on the Santa Ana River side near the Dog Park.

good safe parking area. easy wide trail (really rocky... and bring a hat, no shade untill the end). great area at the end to enjoy in the river. my whole family loved it.

I enjoyed hiking this trail, it wasn't difficult at all and the falls were nice to see and hangout with for a while.

This is a good trail, I don't understand what the other reviewers were talking about the trail is open from 630am to 630pm you are not allowed to park on the steeet leading to the parking lot. When you finally get to the opening at the top, there are two additional trails. One to the right across the creek and one to left where you follow it. I took my 5, 7, and 10 year olds, it was a great family hike.

Amazing views and a nice little workout

I wouldn’t say this is an easy hike, it’s more moderate. There are two paths you can choose from, one easier path and the other is a little harder to do.

Bring lots of water!! There is a filtered water refill station at the start of the hike.

Would be an awesome hike if it wasn’t paved all the way to the top. There’s a few dirt trails on the right side of the mountain. Probably 500+ people on this little hill they call a mountain. If you’re looking for a nature hike you’re not going to find it here. A great little run though for the city folk.

We arrived at 12:30 on a Friday and there was plenty of parking. Signs weren’t that clear but we took the trail to the left and hiked up. We are just getting back into hiking and are out of shape...I don’t know about you guys but we were out of breath! Lots of up hill rocky areas. I didn’t see anywhere in other reviews that it was steep..and it is! We finally found the waterfalls at the very top and it was beautiful. There was a ton of graffiti which was very depressing, minimal trash and a fair amount of people up at the top. I would definitely do this hike again...just wear good shoes people!!

Great, moderate hike. Maybe a bit more difficult on way down. Steep

Quick and easy hike with a scenic view

Love spending family time here with my adult kids, it’s something we all enjoy.

This is a bigger city downtown hike that is still fun to this day. The disadvantage is there are a lot of people, the advantage is there are "a lot of people". This is Southern California as it is, in it's full glory such as it is, and won't change for a long time to come. Like it or leave it! There were maybe 1000 people on the trail. Various ages, fitness levels, dogs, strollers, runners, few bikes (not great for biker's), and the quintessential Southern California blend of folks. There were very fun and scenic encounters. Still love this hike/walk to this day - the already big parking area was already packed - needs to be bigger. Very scenic - views, history, and the American blend of culture.
