To-Do Map

One of the best hiking places in LA county , I went after 4 days of heavy rain it was very beautiful and green.

Started at 7:30am and finished before 10am. Like other reviewers, this is a busy trail. I likely saw about 100 other hikers but still really enjoyed it. Glad I started early. The trail is really well maintained.

Doing the loop was a little sketchy coming out of the canyon, probably from the recent rain. Lots of loose rock along the trail on the way up. The rest of the trail wasn’t too difficult, lots of water crossing. Great views at the top of the trail.

Recommend wearing water shoes because you have to cross the river at least five times after major rain fall in January. I did not park in the general parking area, parked on top of the hill, hiked my way down side trail that meets up with the main one.

Beautiful day yesterday. The rivers are flowing and the waterfall looks full. It is a bit harder to navigate through the river with so much water, but it was definitely a fun adventure. Recommend going soon! Have never seen it with so much water. And it is greener than it has been in a while. Thank you rain

i’d go for a quick run & nice views. highly popular for kids, dogs, families. as easy/hard as you want to make it. there’s an off-leash area for dogs which is pretty nice.

Heavy traffic, but very pretty area. there are multiple stream crossings right now, so water shoes of some sort are a must!

Loved the amazing waterfall! Wear good hiking shoes. We had to cross the stream a few times over slippery rocks and our feet got a little wet, but we still loved every minute of it!

Because of the recent rain the waterfall was flowing. All uphill from parking lot to waterfall. It's definitely a medium difficulty hike going up. Very pretty views all around. No shade going up but there is shade at the waterfall. Limited parking

Bridge is washed out and creek was high from the recent rain. We couldn’t make it to the MASH site and I didn’t see anyone attempt to wade. Pretty nice hike otherwise.

I went with a Facebook group (Hiking with Friends). It was a very large group and we did not do the Mount Lee loop. We only did the out-and-back portion to the Wisdom Tree and Cahuenga Peak to the Hollywood Sign. We began from Lake Hollywood at 3052. This hike was short 3.5 miles or so) and a bit steep and you go over tons of rocks so it’s definitely not for beginners. The view is amazing once you get to the peak and the sign. It was a clear day today and it wasn’t too hot. I’ll go back and do it alone next time. The trail is very clear and pretty popular. Lots of people were there today.

A great moderate hike with gentle switchbacks up the mountain and back. Beautiful views of LA city and Catalina Island. This time of year some of the trails were so pretty lined with fresh green grass. Other areas were covered in loose rock so you really have to watch where you’re stepping to avoid rolling your ankle. A lot of traffic today. Loved the views and interesting history at the top.

Enjoyed seeing the waterfall, but this trail is just too crowded! Crowds made me feel like I was at Disneyland. The recent rain made for a lot of stream crossing and I often had to wait in line just to cross the stream because there were limited places with lower water levels. One woman even yelled at my kids when they crossed a stream out of turn.

Amazing, luckily I was there while the park is closed so not many people there. :)

The bridge east of Cage Creek Trail Jct. broke down due to the recent rain. The trail is currently not passable beyond that point, since the creek cannot be crossed.

Missing hiker in this area, 19yo African American male, please keep an eye out for any out of place clothing etc.

Also, parts of trail are collapsed after the rain.

I was skeptical about the trail due to the fact that it starts in a residential neighborhood but it’s a fantastic hike. Nice scenery, some really nice views. Last, not sure how a 11-12 mile hike qualifies as “easy”. This should be listed as moderate.

It was beautiful but now it’s noisy and trashy! Put earbuds on... not everyone wants to hear ur crappy music!! The sounds of nature are so much better than whatever ur blasting from ur phone. Please take ur trash with u when u leave!!!

Great workout!! 2.5 miles up hill to the railway. Lots of cool things to see & really awesome views. On a clear day u can see the ocean. The only drawback is that it is very crowded. But overall it’s a Fun hike! Beware of the sun! Not a lot of shade at all... great in the cooler weather. Bring lots of water.

Love this hike!! Beautiful & challenging

So definitely heed the warning and bring microspikes or full-on crampons if you plan on summiting during the winter. hiking poles are a must for me as well. It is significantly more challenging in the winter.

Very fun trail, it's up hill but you get great exercise and very nice views.

relaxing and fun trail.

Views are great! It's best to head out before 6:30am to avoid the crowds.

Fairly easy hike, was able to do this with my 4 year old daughter and wife no problem. Tons of folks out there on Sunday 1/13/19. not a quiet hike, but enough space on the trail for everyone. Hardest parts are just crossing streams here and there on the way to and from the waterfall, very doable for all ages and dogs are allowed too !

It was a pretty walk along a creek. I wish it was a little better marked as we hit a few forks in the trail and I didn’t know which way to go or how much farther. I wish we would have hiked on higher grounds with views.

Does anyone know if this and/or the Grotto trail are back open? I'd love to check at the Grotto after all the recent rain fall!

love this hike
